This is a contemporary romance story with a little bit of darkness and a whole lot of steamy-ness. (Just go with me here. It works.) If you aren't a fan of sexual content, do not read. There is a lot. It is not bawdry, but it uses real terminology not those annoying (at least to me) silly names for genitalia. Personally, I think the sex scenes are very well done.
Sarah Miller is a mother. It's what she's been for years now, and she's not sure who she really is beyond that. She's newly single, just made a tremendous move across the globe, and is searching for herself. In the process she meets Marcus, a MMA fighter. They begin a relationship, but its full of ups and downs. And this just may be what puts Sarah in danger.
This is a story of finding oneself, finding purpose, finding love, and learning the hard way that love alone simply isn't enough.
I really enjoyed this story. In fact, were it not for the beginning, I'd say maybe a quarter to a third, of the book I would probably give it 5 stars. The whole last half was very hard to put down (seriously, I was almost in tears in some parts). The problem was the beginning made it hard for me to keep reading. I'm so glad I did because I really did enjoy it so much, but the first bit just didn't pull me in. I didn't feel like I HAD to keep reading. And the way the two main characters met and acted toward each other from moment one just didn't do it for me. Once I got over that, however, I loved it. Loved it like you feel upset when the characters are upset, you're ready to cry when the characters are crying kind of loved it. By the last half alone, the book deserves five stars, but the beginning really threw me off so ultimately I gave it only four.
