"I grew tired of buying management books that I could never find time to finish reading, so I wanted Trust Rules to be a book that a busy manager could read in ninety minutes max" Bob said recently. "When one reviewer wrote that '...there's not a single sentence too much ... it's ideal for the managers who don't usually read books', I knew I'd nailed it!" At just 27,000 words and 156 pages this may be one of the few management books you'll actually find the time to read from cover-to-cover!
And why should you invest that time? Because every manager can be a great manager, but most aren't. That's why great managers get noticed. If you want to rise above the ordinary and lead your team to achieve extraordinary results, Trust Rules will show you how.

Short and sweet! 16 rules on how to build and maintain trust with others. Some great reminders for me on how to continue to build trust with people in the workplace.
Research has shown that the best organizations have one thing in common: a high trust environment. This small book talks about 16 "rules" for building trust in an organization. I'm going to be rereading this book a lot.
As I thought when I began this book, the 16 rules are very straightforward with no earth shattering new information for those of us that study management and strive to be the best we can.
That being said this is a great, well written reminder of some of the simple rules that we may once in a while forget. Bob's writing style is easily readable and wonderfully simplistic. The ideas are sound and the recap at the end of each chapter are much appreciated and great little tools to stoke the memory banks.
Trust in this day and age means everything to some and nothing to others. To those of us building teams of multi-generational people with varying personalities, the rules described within this tool are very welcome reminders that trust begins with each of us and ends with each of us.
I'll purchase copies of this book as gifts to my new managers. It describes a great place to start when taking those first steps. It also serves as a great reminder to those who think we know what we're doing!
Great little read with 16 simple rules how to be a great manager and build high trust work environment. Good thing - 16 rules were built on tons of data, so we should trust it. Not that good thing - 16 rules are kind of obvious (i.e. "to be a great boss you need to be great boss").
Though, it makes sense to go through the book to structure your knowledge and get a data based confirmation of "how to be a good boss" perception you already had.
I really enjoyed this book. Bob's style of writing is light and full of easy wisdom, making this book an enjoyable read, on top of being informative. It focuses on practical techniques for becoming a great manager, and would serve as a handy guide for managers at any stage of their career.
A great overview of high-trust organizations and ‘rules’ that can help you achieve this. The information is succinct with explicit tips that be used immediately to start creating a more productive culture.
