The Problem With Grady

Real and gritty, both books in this series blew me away. The alternating pov's show the incredible differences between the two men, how they're processing what's going on and how it's all affecting them.
Cin Forrester develops this story over the course of the two books. The Trouble with Trevor is a pretty heavy cliffhanger and I was dying to start this one right away. The story is still unfinished, but at least it stopped at a place I can handle... though the minute the next one comes out, I'm dropping everything!
I want to write a better review of these books, but I want to give it some thought.

So glad I found this book, and so sad sad book three was never published. I’ve had a very good time with Grady and Trevor. I loved the sexual tension and the slow build of their relationship. Even without the third book this one comes to a satisfying conclusion.

The series is about 95% spanking fetish.
I really enjoyed the books but be aware that there are some dubcon issues here.
While these two definitely have a consensual relationship, they don't really follow the practices of safe sane consensual. There is no safeword. That aside, if you're into all of that, this is a pretty hot series.
This one starts with Grady still refusing to touch his godson, outside of their weekly spankings, until the boy turns eighteen. With Trevor still using the spankings as a means of absolution for the death of his brother, and his increasingly serious sleep walking issues, there's more running beneath the surface of this story than just his crush on Grady. Grady may be a hard-ass during the day, but each time the boy has a sleepwalking episode, Grady's clearly shaken and very caring, as their relationship deepens and moves past the initial lust that Grady felt, and into something more, he doesn't quite know how to cope with his emotions.
When the two of them do finally hook up it's extremely explosive. But the problem is Trevor's returning home to Ohio in less than a month. With neither of them able to commit to a serious relationship, and Trevor feeling like Grady's is pushing him away, there is nothing to do but wait until Trevor gets back from his home and see if things have improved, or if Grady's lost interest.

Well....well....well....
I know that this book gonna be something!!!!
Trevor who has his own 'trauma' for losing his brother and being 'haunted' by his brother shadow... (ghost... or whatever!) - finally find his peace (or maybe distraction?) in his interaction with Grady.
On the other hand, Grady who can't resist his attraction to Trevor start to feel jealous when Trevor finally meet someone his own age to fuck. Grady's possessiveness can't stand with Trevor closeness with another guy because he know for sure that only him who know exactly how to satisfied Trevor who crave for some kink in bed and that include spanking and some bruises.
Things getting way more intense when Trevor's father finally have suspicion on what actually happen between his son and Grady. And that was another problem they must face....
And again, the book ended with a cliffy ending that leave the reader in (a bit) frustration because there's still no news about when the next book will be release!! Awfully annoying!!!

OK so I read this in one sitting on Sunday afternoon.
I enjoyed the first book tremendously and was looking forward to the second part - this did not disappoint.
Apart from the kinky spankings (oh so much glorious spanking!), the story is very well told. It alters equally between both POV's and you get a balanced feel of the events.

Follows on directly from The Trouble with Trevor, so make sure you read that first.
And if you have read it, then you know what to expect, grumpy frustrated Grady trying so hard to stick to his boundaries but with Trevor pushing all the time he's kind of doomed really. Especially when Trevor turns 18. And in the mean time, there's always a good excuse for a spanking....
Can't wait for book 3.

So um, is book 3 out yet?! Wow, let's unpack this a bit. If you get past the taboo nature of Trevor and Grady's interactions, at heart are deeply felt feelings on the part of both of them and the author conveys that brilliantly. Trevor - poor kid who hasn't dealt with the grief surrounding the death of his brother, his almost indifferent parents, his rage and his discovery of this kink he has for spankings, or more generally, pain and his surprise at the fact that Grady just gets him and indulges him in his need for pain. And Grady, who is trying to do the right thing by not taking advantage of Trevor - he says "And I am as fucked as I was when the first IED blew. Because now this isn't about not sticking my dick in the under-aged ass of the son of my oldest friend. It's about making sure I don't find myself trying to put my life back together again after a giant hole rips it open." I felt so badly for Grady, his need for his Catholic faith which, for him, wars with his utter desire for his friend's son. My gosh, my heart was ripped out of my chest at watching these two but also recognizing that Trevor, at the beginning of the book, is still under 18. There is still a kid in there but that persona is warring with the man he's becoming and who wants Grady. Also underpinning this book is the kick-ass writing that is Cin. As her readers know, Cin is an alternate name for a very well-known MM author whose books I adore. Just effortless throwaway sentences that I read and re-read. "He's so right about this, about me. After this, I'll be able to take a fire hydrant up my ass." "He gives a blow job like he does everything else, all in, no stop." "Yeah, he's a tight slice of heaven, but that not what sets off a lightening strike in my chest. It's the almost scream he makes when he shoves back hard, ass slapping into my groin. Him serving that pain for me." I cannot wait for book 3. Just in case you want to know, this is NOT a standalone. You must read book 1
. And for those who don't like series without an HEA or HFN, you don't get that in book 2. Gotta wait until book 3 - at least I hope there's only 3. Love Trevor and Grady and dying to see how this works out.

This continued where the first left off, with Grady attempting to set rules while Trevor wanted nothing but break them away and get in to Grady's bed.
There is not subtle hints here, Trevor is as upfront as he could be about what he wants, there is no older taking advantage of someone younger. It's just lust slowly breaking down Grady's resolve until he cracks.
For the most parts I like the two of them, except when Grady looses his temper once and even scares Trevor. Not doing any harm other than frightening the boy.
Though Grady even thinking about going bareback with Trevor after all his hookups rubbed me the wrong way and almost put me off it all. For someone thinking he's the adult one, Trevor have been keeping safe.
I wish Grady would have read up about spanking when they got more in to it. I miss the after care Trevor needs when he's flying high after a session. Instead Grady mostly leave him alone after. It's a bit uncomfortable read.

I absolutely love this book and this series. If you haven' read it yet, read "The Problem with Trevor" book 1 in the series. This series is a little bit taboo. Trevor is underage and is attending college in Boston. Grady is his guardian. Trevor finds he has a need to be spanked and Grady indulges him whenever Trevor feels that he's done something wrong. Despite his better judgment Grady develops feelings for Trevor. Their feelings are taboo. Trevor is his friend's son. Grady is a devout Catholic. The book closes as the semester is ending and Trevor approaches his 18 birthday. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Caution: If you're looking for an HEA or and HFN, this book isn't it. That may come in the next installment. I hope. I love these two!

LOVED IT! Talk about anticipation.....WOW! The MCs although by societies judgment are unconventional and "taboo" were beautiful IMO. I love this series and can't wait until book 3 hits the shelves. Anticipation as I wait. Trevor is still hilarious and a handful but let's not kid ourselves...he knows exactly what and who he wants. He's not afraid to ask nor embrace his desire and kink. Eighteen or not he's figured this part of his sexuality out. Grady had to deal with great inner conflict and turmoil in coming to terms with his deep desires for his godson and best friend's son. They yearned for each other. This story is so well written and I love this author. I plan to read every MM book she will share. Count on it!!

I gave 1st book a four, this five is for both.
The writing was superb and am actually annoyed that book three is still in pipeline and not a click away.
Intense, depth and knowledge of both men was beautifully portrayed.
Story was unique in how it showed obsession and control.

Christ, a lot of spanking for sure. If you're into well-written smut that makes you blush (and hot and bothered), try this one. Unfortunately, book 3 was never published. But I liked book 1&2 nonetheless.

It was a long wait after reading The Trouble with Trevor, so I don't remember much, but I was eagerly anticipating this follow up and it lived up to my expectations! Trevor and Grady are still fighting the temptation to sleep together until Trevor turns 18. I loved their Sunday ritual and when Trevor finally turns 18, I couldn't put my Kindle down until I finished the book. I hope there won't be as long of a wait for book 3!
