How people think and how they respond to challenges and to other people varies from one individual to another depending on their beliefs, values, memories and past experiences. Some people respond more effectively than others. Understanding how they do this - and how you can follow their example by changing your thinking and beliefs - lies at the heart of neurolinguistic programming (NLP). NLP will improve the way you interact and communicate with others; it will improve your self-esteem and raise your motivation. In fact, it will impact positively on all aspects of your business and private life. The NLP Pocketbook looks at the key principles of NLP and how it can make a difference to you. It describes how you are limited by your beliefs and thoughts and how you can change them for the better. There are sections on the brain, on language and on how to create your own personal resource bank.
the NLP pocketbook is full of essential information about the introduction to NLP. this is a great starter book for whom is interested in NLP. small in size but huge in content.
I have met Gillian Burns and had a training session witth her. A great book on NLP, summarises key elements in an easily understandable form. I have read many books on NLP but this is a book you are more likely to return to again because it is put together in such a memorable way. If anybody wanted to learn how to quickly establish rapport; Burns shares he key things you need to know. Wan to achieve your goals? Burns provides you with a roadmap. Understand how you make sense of the world? Burns explains how. Want to be able to adapt until you get to where you want to go? Burns helps you to appreciate the importance of being able to see life from different perspectives. Loved it!
Good book. I liked the ideas of the book and the exercise it shares and how they make you feel positive and more confident about what you are going to do. It overall put more positivity in your life. It is a short and very practical book filled mostly with exercise rather than just paragraphs upon paragraphs talking about ideas.
I'm not an expert in soft skills as my job is related to manufactureing and quality but I think this book is only useful for those who looking for fundamental or general view about NLP and it describes some techniques that quiet useful for self motivation but in real life I do not think so
