I enjoyed this book very much. It was definitely suspenseful and the author kept up the suspense through the whole story. The two main characters, Alexia and Cole, used to be married but got divorced after their young son died and they both couldn't deal with it. Cole was in the military and Alexia felt he wasn't there for her. Now, a couple years later, Alexia, is working for her father organizing big rodeos and wild west shows but someone is sabatoging them her father hires an investigative team to find out who is behind it. When the main investigator isn't available, he asks Cole to take over for him. Alexia can't believe she has to work with Cole again. She never thought she'd have to see him again! I can imagine that would be hard, working with your ex, but they never really worked things out after their son died so this seems to be the perfect opportunity - except that someone is running around trying to kill people!
I enjoyed the interaction between Alexia and Cole - how their relationship developed! I also very much enjoyed the suspense as they both raced to find who was sabatoging the shows and causing havoc! I would recommend it!

Deadly Fires is another great addition to the Rodeo Knights series! These novellas stand alone, and as a rodeo fan, I really like the rodeo circuit story lines. Alexia and Cole are strong, yet vulnerable characters, and I enjoyed the intrigue of their story and their second chance at happiness. An enjoyable blend of suspense and romance, I look forward to more Rodeo Knights!

Alexia Richards will do anything to keep busy & keep her mind from dwelling on her past. That's part of the reason she's moved home to work with her father after his health issues have sidelined him. Unfortunately, a series of incidents are starting to affect the business & the danger is escalating. Her dad decides to call in Knight Investigation to look into the incidents. Alexia had confidence in Michael & was sure he'd get to the bottom of it.

Cole Knight has left his position in the services & has come home to work with his cousin in Knight Investigation. He's just come off a case when he gets a call to take over one of Michael's cases. Unfortunately, Cole is Alexia's ex husband. Can they find a way to work together? Can they find a way to put closure to their son's death?

Mystery. Suspense. Romance. Tragedy. This story has it all. The plot moves quickly & had twists & turns to keep the suspense going. The violence escalates as the story goes on & it seems like the tension in Coke & Alecia's relationship grows at an equal pace. This is a great story that grabs your attention quickly & pulls you along.

Author Margaret Daley writes with a flair for suspense with just the right amount of romance to keep the story flowing and full of adventure. Deadly Fires: Rodeo Knights is Book Nine in the Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations series. Alexia Richards is trying to keep things running smoothly for the family business, Red Richards Rodeo Company, while her dad recovers from a heart attack, but someone is trying to sabotage her efforts. Things just go from bad to worse when her dad calls in the Knight Investigation Agency and she is forced to work with her ex-husband. Sparks fly but as Alexia and Cole Knight work together will they realize they still have feelings for each other? Can they forgive themselves and each other for what happened in the past? Together they are determined to find the person or persons responsible for trying to ruin the company? Each book in the series is stand-alone and guaranteed to keep you turning pages!

Deadly Fires by Margaret Daley
Strong Women, Extraordinary Situations Series Book Nine
Alexia Richards has always tried to please her father. Be the son he always wanted. She failed him in the past and she's failing him now as bad things are happening to their rodeo company while she's in charge.

Cole Knight is working for his cousins’ investigation agency. Trying to get used to civilian life after his years in the army and all he'd seen there. And there was the past he messed up. Only six months back and he's being thrown into the past when he's sent to help Alexia.

Margaret Daley weaves great mysteries. I thought I had this one all figured out...I didn't. This is a book is also part of a ten book Rodeo Knights series. Individual books by ten authors that all connect in some way to the Knight brothers. Their stories are told in the first three original Rodeo Knight books by Margaret, Lisa Mondello, and Lenora Worth.

Deadly Fires: Rodeo Knights , A Western Novel (Rodeo Knights-Book 9)
By: Margaret Daley
Deadly Knights is book nine in the Rodeo Knights Series. You can read these out of order and it will not be any problems. I really enjoyed this book . Daley has a flair for writing suspense . The author grabbed me right at the start and I was hooked. The two main characters Alexia and Cole were married , but got divorced. Alexia’s dad is recovering from a heart attack and she is helping out in their family company. When a saboteur targets her and the company she has to depend on her ex, a former Delta Force solider for help. Spark fly between these two , but can they work together to see who is behind these attacks and are trying to ruin the company?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book , but was not told that I had to give a positive review.

Alexia has tried to put her life back together after losing her child in a fire and then losing her husband in divorce. She spends her time working for her family’s business but suddenly she is fighting a different battle when someone begins targeting her family events.

After his son’s death and divorce from Alexia, Cole tried to continue on with his military career only to realize he couldn’t so he joined his cousin’s security business. Now that someone is threatening Alexis he has been assigned to help her and her family’s company.

Can they work together to find out who is sabotaging the company’s events? Can Alexia and Cole overcome their past and find a way back to each other?

A sweet read where with faith and love together can help heal all past hurts

Loved this one. Having a second chance like that is everything. They lost their son in a fire and got divorced. The strength you have to have to just get out of the bed each morning is enormous. They were so broken still and the fact that they never talked and just blamed themselves drove them farther apart. I just loved that they found their way back to each other. Not everyone does. Cole was numb, but the moment he heard his ex wife was in trouble, all bets were off. Alexia was just surviving, and the guilt she carried was a lot. They needed each others love and to simply move on from all the guilt

Rating 3.5. (I went back and forth on this--it is not a three but not quite a four, either.)

This is another book in the oddly named "Strong Women, Extraordinary Circumstances," or at least I thought it was (I know I read it somewhere--maybe on Amazon???) but it turns out to be from a series called "Rodeo Knights" and this is book 9. I have not read any of the other in the series but was able to follow the story line just fine. This is a clean romantic suspense novel, it is also a very short read but I would not say it is a novella, per se.

A lack of communication after a fire of their home, and losing a son.Cole and Alexia divorced. Alexia returns home, to overhear words from her father and unable to communication now with him. With a heart attack she is doing her best to run the rodeo, and the circuit of shows. Someone is
targeting her, and those close to her. Finally calling Cole to come help with the investigation. The threats and danger escalate, till again a fire almost destroyed the family. The past is out in the open now and time to rebuild a home, and love. Very moving story of family, forgiveness and love.

There is a lot going on in this story both in the action and in the relationships. It was very entertaining and easy to read. I liked the recurring theme of reconciliation and restoration of broken and failing or failed marriages. Second chances in relationship because people are willing to talk and willing to renew trust make for sweet romance.

Interesting story with the themes of suffering, broken relationships, and eventually some emotional and spiritual healing. An unknown person was attempting to wreak havoc on the main character and her family by sabotage of the families' rodeo business. I didn't guess the culprit at all, so the author did a good job of keeping the story moving without giving away too many clues.

Good read

Loved this book and especially the main characters. I loved that for a change a divorced couple got their lives and marriage back together, the need to forgive not only the main couple but other family relationships. With Gods help and communication you can forgive!

Very well written. I really enjoyed it, except for the very abrupt ending. Seems to be a trademark of the author’s to finish them that way. An epilogue would’ve been helpful.
