To be fair, this book suffered from being read after the far superior The Body is Not an Apology. I found it extremely pointed towards able-bodied, cis-gendered, straight women, so if that's your jam you may enjoy it, but several of the essays felt like... oh this isn't about me. The essays are varying in quality, some were quite good and some were not, to the point where I forgot this was a single author. I think it may have worked better as a memoir or a letter to her younger self? I did like the last few essays and felt they were the strongest of the bunch, but mostly I didn't really feel like this made much of a difference in terms of advancing the self-love advocation goals I am going for. Just read The Body is Not An Apology instead.
