After sixteen lonely years on Jekh, ex-soldier Jasper Escobar resorts to drastic measures to land one of the most sought-after women in Little Gitano. Access to the mysterious Sera Merridon comes at a steep price, because behind the scenes, solitary men like him bid huge sums of money for chances at romance...

Untrusting Sera has spent more than half her life being traded from one Terran space pirate to the next. When schoolteacher, Marco Cipriani, helped to liberate her from her traumatic existence as a space station courtesan, she wondered if perhaps not all of Earth’s men are the same. Sensitive Marco chases her fears away, so of course she wants him to be her lover and companion...

If only he weren’t so clueless...

He’s nobly standing aside for the more aggressive Jasper. But, after learning about the tasteless wager scheme, Sera’s not inclined to play nice. That is, until Jasper reveals that he’s just trying to belong to someone. He can belong to her. In fact, both men can!

Although romantic trios are the norm on Jekh, her two human men hadn’t planned on sharing. And if they can’t share her, not only will the men forfeit the companionship Sera desperately wants to give them, but on the friendship the extraordinary men need from each other as well!

I know I keep saying I'm into this series for the worldbuilding more than the romance but man, this book had so little romance. I'm not sold on these three as an MFM triad, I wasn't invested in the rescue story... a bunch of meh. Hoping the next book turns out better.

I am really enjoying the Jekh Saga, a sci fi romance series that makes Jekh and it's inhabitants feel like a real place. This book gets its name from a game of chance that gives participants the opportunity to explore a relationship with a single whose name is drawn from a barrel. Because of the shortage of women, each participant has to pay for the opportunity to draw and to be drawn. Finally desperate enough to play, Jasper Escobar gets lucky. Not only is his name called, but he draws "Black Velvet" Sera Merridon, youngest of three sisters who were captured and forced into sexual slavery before being rescued and freed many years later. Sera was brutally beaten before her liberation and her left arm was crushed. But she still takes care of her three year old daughter, Elken, and she's slowly making the journey toward recovery, both physical and emotional.
When the story begins, Sera is overcoming her fear of men and her lack of interest in a physical relationship. Marco Cipriani, a former school teacher, is deemed to be safe and comfortable, however. So when Sera decides to choose for herself after years of being forced, she chooses him. But Jasper has expressed his interest in Sera to Marc, so Marc steps aside for his friend. Fortunately for them both, Sera can be uncharacteristically determined to get what she wants.

I recommend this book for readers who aren't into instalove, because the story is anything but. It is filled with everyday conversations, or "just chatting", and it had me hanging on every word.
I received a free copy of this book, without expectation of a review. The opinions expressed are my own

Loved it

Love this series. Sera is the youngest of the Meeridan siblings. The most damaged by her time as a slave and sex worker. She has the farm, and her daughter. The love and support of her family.
Marco is the sane Capriani sibling. A gentle giant. He is settling in on Jekh working with Owen.
Jasper has been on Jekh since the first wave Terran invasion, and quickly went AWOL and was recruited by Lil. He is now working in Little Gitono as a Peacekeeper.
Jasper is loneliness has him joining a match making pool in the hopes he will be able to claim one if the single ladies.
Loved Sera, Marco and Jasper's story. Sera learns to set aside her past. Marco learns to fight for what he really wants. Jasper finds the happiness he craves. Can't wait for Luke and his Duke's story.

Menage series with character

Good addition. I liked that Sera finally started to pull herself together and gained self confidence. After her forced prostitution for pirates she was afraid of human men. Marco was quiet and kind even though he was a large man. He didn't pursue her so she felt safe.Jasper has been on the planet for sixteen years and he is lonely. He gets on a chance game and gets to try for Sera.
This book follows these three characters as Sera gets to make decisions like she never got to before.
Most of the characters in this series are likeable and you want to learn more about their lives. I don't for Alex Hauge at all, but he was only a side character in this book.
If you like menage stories with an actual story, you will like this series.

Again as with the last installment, this seemed quite rushed. I also didn’t buy the trio this time. The pages were passing, and they weren’t resolving... then bam, she changes her mind because she served him food? Yeah, no.

This one really should have been Luke 2. As Owen and Ais’ story was almost all about Luke, half of this was...yep, you guessed it, set up for Luke. And I just didn’t like Luke enough throughout these two books to read more about him. He’s kind of a dick. I also didn’t appreciate how he go5 more dialogue with Ais in this one, again. Poor Owen. Anyhoo, that’s it for this series for me. The excitement of the back story with the planet has run its course, and there is only so much “We’re [McGarry/Cipriani/Other!” and food prep this reader can take.

I love this series. I love the planet Jekh, the people who live there, their culture and the closeness everyone there has for each other since they all depend so much on each other to survive. This novel is no exception. We get hints at a future and unlikely relationship for Luke who we got to know and like so much in the previous novel. We also get to see one of the women they rescued find her happiness. Due to what she has been through, it is not as passionate but more touching and sweet. Definitely worth reading. The men of Jekh are hot but also so respectful of their women.

Taking Back Control

For far too long Sera had a say in her own life, Upon her extraction from a life of a sex slave.

You have two guys polar opposites. Jasper Escobar is ex-military and looking for someone to connect with. Marco comes from a loud and boisterous family.

Their story laid bare the emotions of each character while exploring the issues each person had to face, The author did a great job creating this story.

I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book received from the author without obligation to do so.

Enjoyable and entertaining read

Great continuation of the series. Not much in the drama department but that didn't take away from the story if anything I feel like this story laid bare all the emotions of Jasper, Sera, and Marco while exploring all there emotional baggage they have to face. Definitely not your typical romance story. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read. So looking forward to reading Luke and his Duke's story.

Wow!

Another awesome book by an awesome author! I can't wait for the next one in the series to come out! My only complaint is that a few times the story got bogged down a bit with too many characters and explications. But a definite must read!

Another fun book in this series. This one is MFM instead of MMF. I really liked all three leads and wasn't sure how they'd all come together as a trio, but what happened made sense.

On to the next!

Still super solid science fiction romance. Nothing much to complain about. Only really minor quibbles but they don’t really detract anything.

So yeah. If you liked the others you’ll like this one too.

Wager

So many possibilities, so little time. There have been so many first rate character additions to the farm and lots of action with rescuing kidnapped Jekhan women. Of course the romances are awesome.

3.5 stars. Although I loved Marco, I wanted more time between Sera and Jasper. He felt a bit like an afterthought.

If you like the others, you'll like this. There are several overarching plot threads going on at this point, so read the others first.
