For thousands of years, the Hobswood Forest has repelled all attempts to uncover its secrets. Few have entered, and even fewer have returned.

Now the king of Emberlyn has organized a new expedition into the wood, and as the explorers battle dark creatures and are drawn into a generations-long war, they will also encounter the most powerful entity to ever stalk the the Ember Lion.

The Lion’s Crown is the first book of The Emberlyn Chronicles, an epic tale of magic, war and love. The story continues in The Lion's Crypt.

Magical & Exciting!!!!

this book was so much fun to read.. it took me out of my world and transported me into a world full of magic and otherworldly creatures including knights, queens, and one enchanted forest!!! It was an adventure of a lifetime as the characters leave their homes and go to forest on a mission from their king... until..... things go terribly wrong.. it's a fight for survival.. Will they make it out alive???
I love it.. the writing is fantastic.. keeps you hooked until the end.. wonderful structure the words flow beautifully into the next!! I love that it's very descriptive too it makes you feel like you're there too!!!
The ending is amazing the way it pulls you in setting you up so you'll come back for more!! (I can't wait for the next book to see where the story and the characters go next!!)
I URGE you to give this book a try... it's worth it!!!

I loved my trip into the Hobswood. While I look forward to the next installment because the story was exciting and fun to read, I feel like there was some lacking in character development. The careful detail to describing the surrounding forest helped allow my mind to follow along, however I didn't feel that same careful detail was afforded to the characters. The initial background story I feel added little to the development of the characters and would have liked a little more description of the characters themselves. But once they entered the enchanted woods and the story picked up, I found it hard to put it down. All in all I really enjoyed the story and look forward to the next installment.

Excellent!

Well I now have another favorite author. This story had every thing I love in a good fantasy. Action, adventure, romance. I was so involved in the story that I read the whole book in one sitting, and I never do that unless it is really good! The characters are well developed and likable. The budding relationship between Penny and Sir William from friends to lovers was so precious. So much loss and so much love. I can't wait to start book two and see Penny and Owen tap into the power living within them. Super story and highly recommended!

This was a vivid, well-imagined adventure. In fantasy, we encounter many variations of some sort of enchanted forest, and the Hobswood is easily one of my new favorites. I loved Michael K Rose's attention to the details, and I was so intrigued by the magic and the conflict. Will definitely be reading more!
