This book was so hard to read... I kept putting it down but picking it back up. I had to know. I had to know how someone lived through something I have personally feared. It wasn’t until those last few pages I finally found out. This was an amazing insightful story of grit and grace. I have a new outlook on my experiences and my golf game! Start with the end in mind. Green, trees or water it will have a picture perfect finish!

Insightful

God, Country, Golf: Reflections of an Army Widow was not an easy book to read, especially with a lot of military jargon. However, it is an excellent example of what military spouses are made of. It not only highlights what they go through as military spouses on a day to day basis but what many of them contribute to the military efforts behind the scenes. The author, Wesley Bauguess, had to come to terms with the loss of her husband to insurgents and how she was able to seek redemption. Her faith in God played a huge role in her life and ultimately helping her and her young daughters get through the devastation of losing a husband and father. This is a very insightful true story written by a very strong and courageous military widow.

This book captures the wonderful love story of Larry and Wesley. And it shows the strength a person has in the face of tragedy with the help of the love of God, the love of country and the love of golf. People often ask about a person when a loved one dies, how do they get through it? This book tells in vivid and heart-wrenching detail. Any one who has lost a loved one can relate to this book. At the same time showing them how to live to honor their loved one's memory. This book caused me to go through a range of emotions while reading, much like the author of this book while facing this tragedy. Wesley brings honor to Larry's memory and tells a story that needs to be told.

Powerful

A must read. Powerful, gripping and patriotic. Wesley illustrates so eloquently those early moments a widow and the family bears immediately following the notification of a service members death. I felt like I was in the room with her and her sweet girls. I cried as my heart ached for her family. It Wesley is living a life that is making Larry very proud. Amazing testimony. Best book I’ve read in a long time.

This book was written by my daughter's golf coach. She lost her husband while he was on active duty. Wesley does a fantastic job of relaying her emotions throughout the entire book. I would highly recommend it to everyone. I believe that it has something everyone can relate to on some level.
