Every once in a while, I need a quick Amar Chitra Katha bit of simple reading to set things on an even keel. This Jain tale has elements of magic, fantasy and the quintessential fable charm.
The Magic Grove, A Jain Tale About Destiny is an enlightening comic book by Amar Chitra Katha which tells us the story of a girl by the name of Vidyutprabha. The latter once saved the life of a snake from the snake charmers. However, it was a devata (divine being) in the form of a snake whose life she had saved. That's why that deva gave Vidyutprabha a boon. And that blessing saved the life of Vidyutprabha many times. It's a tale that shows the importance of good deeds and the crucial role of destiny in one's life.
Another one of my childhood favourites. Loved the beautiful ladies dresses and used to swoon over the illustrations as a kid. The story of the kind and forgiving Vidyutprabha (and how awesome is that name - I used to imagine it meant the Light of the Lightning) is one of the best from the Amar Chitra Katha series, imo.
This book is good and it is a unique story which I haven't read. It has a good storyline and has answered all the questions related to this book. Overall, it was very good.
A short story on How a divine being disguised as a snake changed Vidytprabha's life Forever !! The unselfishness behavior of Vidyutprabha is commendable .
