A tantalizing mix of medieval, regency, and Pride and Prejudice variants romances
THE WARRIOR’S REWARD A rough Welshman meets a pampered English rose. Can an illegitimate son of the Prince of Wales win the hand of such a woman--and more importantly--her dowry? Even if he can, his position is a treacherous one...one that might see both of them dead as enemies of the crown.
SERENA by Claudy Conn Witty and refreshingly candid, lovely Serena has been capturing hearts young and old alike. Her guardian uncle worries, though, that at twenty-three she will soon become a spinster. He wants a better life for her than that, but she doesn’t want to make a match without her heart being in it.
And none of the men courting her have touched her heart—not Warren, the old friend who woos her even as he eyes other women; certainly not Eustace, the minister concerned more with appearances than compassion; not even Freddy, perhaps the most ardent of her suitors but at nineteen still a puppy.
Then Freddy’s uncle, the handsome Lord Pendleton, arrives to extract his nephew from the woman he expects Serena to be—one interested only in wealth and a title. When he refuses to believe that, far from trying to ensnare Freddy, she has been urging him to return to Oxford, her ire gets the better of her. She decides to let his lordship stew in his own juices. And when it becomes clear Lord Arrogant’s plan is to get her to change her course from Freddy to himself, feisty Serena sets her own course.
LORD RUTHVEN’S BRIDE by Tarah Scott She can’t allow his love for her to destroy him... When Nicholas Spencer, Earl of Grayson, returns to claim the woman he loves, Lady Josephine Knightly isn’t willing to forgive him for abandoning her six years ago. But neither can she resist the man he’s become.
Two days after Josephine signs the marriage contract she discovers a nasty secret that will destroy her family. The only way to protect them—to protect the only man she’s ever loved—is to disappear...or die. Nicholas won’t make the same mistake twice and let Josephine Knightly go. She loves him. He felt it in their one kiss before he left, and in the single kiss she allowed since his return. But she’s doing everything in her power to sabotage the marriage even before it’s begun. Nicholas doesn’t care. If Hell is where he must live to have her, then she must stand by his side in the fire.
POOR MR. DARCY by Summer Hanford and Renata McMann Imagine a world in which Darcy doesn't go to Ramsgate and thus doesn't stop Georgiana from running off and marrying Wickham. Renata McMann and Summer Hanford present "Poor Mr. Darcy: A Pride and Prejudice Novella," in which they examine how that single alteration changes the way Elizabeth's and Darcy's story unfolds, a tale that hinges on Mr. Darcy's performance as a poor Mr. Darcy.
THE EARL’S BLUESTOCKING by Rose Fairbanks A bluestocking with a secret
With a family propensity for scandal, Vivian Ashworth believes she’s immune to the passions which ruled her parents. She might read about ancient seductions of Greek mythology but no flesh and blood man ever made her heart race until she met Lord Hastings. Of course, at least half of that is anger at his arrogance.
An earl bound to duty
To restore honor to his family name after his father and brother left it in ruins, Devereux Hastings knows he must make a cold marriage to a lady of rank and wealth. Not that he’s in any hurry. Vivian’s mixture of intelligence and beauty captivate him but he remains confident he can resist her charms.
Samantha Holt resides in Warwickshire, England, with her twin girls, having followed her soldier husband around the UK for nearly 10 years. Growing up in Hampshire, she was inspired by the authors Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskell, both of whom lived and wrote only miles from her home town.
Samantha loves the romance genre and has been devouring romantic literature for as long as she can remember. History is another passion of hers and she loves to combine her love for history and romance into exciting and passionate tales.
A bit too gynecological for me. But, then again I knew what was happening in "From Here to Eternity" when the camera panned up and away from Deborah Kerr and Burt Lancaster rolling in the surf. I would love to hear the argument in favor such excruciatingly detailed sex scenes (not 'lovemaking'...pure unadulterated sex). Is it needed to advance the plot? Or is it like action movies of the '70s "stuff, stuff, car chase, stuff stuff, massive fistfight/gunbattle...stuff, stuff, one more car chase....bad guys die in appropriate manner befitting their crimes...End Credits."
My rating reflects my feelings on Lord Ruthven's Bride by Tarah Scott. The other 4 stories are sold as individual stories as well as in this book and so I chose to write my reviews separately. This one however I could only find here in this box set. I loved the couple. The h ,Annabelle, is a fun character. She is curious and spontaneous. She witnesses some mysterious behavior from a lord and decides at a dance held at his estate to play the part of a snoop. While hiding behind a curtain when said lord enters his study Annabelle is discovered but she is not alone.
James is also discovered mixed in with the same curtain and so it is played off as though the two are having a tryst. Annabelle is engaged to someone else besides the mysterious murders that are being investigated, you have our lovable h making choices that throw her not only in the path of danger but also into James arms. The fiancée is a lovable and charming man but clearly not the man for Annabelle but even as their time together ends I wanted to know how is story ends.
The length of the tale and all that is crammed into it took away from the romance with the couple. It took from the particular things I want to see even though it wraps up neat and cute I couldn't help but feeling like there should have been more of just them as a couple. It is a clean read with some passionate kisses but not much more. Enjoy!

REVIEW I read one of the stories previously and I am leaving my review for that story at this time. Serena by Claudy Conn This book to me was Funny, Romantic , Witty, and Action packed as well. Had me laughing out loud in many spots of the book. In this book we have Serena who is a young woman who has yet to find a man to marry. She has many suitable suitors however she has not found the one who she loves and of course Love is everything to her. There is one young man who has taken a fancy to Serena but he is a bit young and still needs to be in school. Lord Daniel Pendleton Uncle to the young man Freddie is on his way to collect his nephew. Once he however sees the beautiful vivacious Serena all bets are off and he is in hot pursuit. But Serena may be a bit much for the Lord and he is soon to find out just how high strung and stubborn she can really be. But will that stop him? HAHA I think that’s likely not going to happen but I am not going to tell you so Go pickup this fantastic book and find out for yourself.
This box set is available on Kindle Unlimited where I borrowed it from. And I also own the book Serena by Claudy Conn. Imperfect Gentlemen
Have read SERENA by Claudy Conn Lady Serena Moorely, who has been raised by her uncle, is an unwed maid and her uncle would like to see her married before he dies. She has three suitors but doesn't love any of them and that is the only reason she will wed-to love and be loved in return.
Lord Daniel Pendleton, at his sisters request, goes to New Forest to talk his nephew Freddy (who is one of Serena's suitors) out of wanting to marry Serena and going back to university. Unbeknownst to Daniel, Serena has turned down Freddy's proposal and is only friends with him. When Daniel meets Serena, he thinks her beautiful but a woman after money and position. When Serena meets Daniel she thinks he is a very handsome, arrogant Corinthian.
What a delightful romp of a story with sexy romance, robbery, murder and even some humor. This is a terrific Historical Romance and I just loved it and so will you!!
I have read most of these story in this Box set and must say I thoroughly enjoyed each one.
THE WARRIOR'S REWARD by Samantha Holt flowed easily and smoothly. The characters caught my attention from the start and held it throughout. It has just enough suspense, chemistry, and steamy romance to keep the reader turning pages. The historical details are certainly masterfully woven throughout the story. A great Medieval Romance! Highly recommended!
---------
LORD RUTHVEN'S BRIDE by Tarah Scott is anot exciting Regency Historical Romance. Ms. Scott writes with masterful details. Her characters are engaging and enticing. The plot is written with a smooth, flawless storyline. One that will hold the readers interest until the very end. I recommended!
-------
POOR MR. DARCY by Summer Hanford and Renata McMann is a Pride and Prejudice Romance. These authors entertain a much loved story of Elizabeth's and Darcy's, in a different light. Darcy's poor and that alters the entire story.
------
THE EARL'S BLUESTOCKING DREAM by Rose Fairbanks is a Regency Romance that is a bit predictable but interesting just the same. Well written, with engaging characters. The plot flows smoothly.
------
SERENA by Claudy Conn another Regency Romance. It's a bit unique, with interesting characters. The plot will easily hold your attention as you attempt to decide which suitor will win Serena'a heart.

These stories, all have a tantalizing mixture of Regency, Medieval, and Pride and Prejudice romances, that will keep the reader reading from one book to the next. I was throughly engrossed and enticed. I would strongly recommend "Imperfect Gentlemen". Flawed characters with strong will amd rather feisty heroines and strong, handsome heroes. A must read collection! !
