My new boss is driving me crazy. He's arrogant, smug, and pretty much the most infuriating man alive. But did I also mention he has abs of steel and an intoxicating smile? One minute, he makes me want to scream out in anger. The next minute, he makes me want to scream out his name...But I can't get close to him. He's the enemy.
So, when we end up going out on the town for work, I'm determined to keep things strictly business. That is...until I wake up next to him in his million-dollar penthouse. Have I just made an enormous mistake? Or have I finally met my match, even if he's the opposite of everything I thought I wanted before?
Sylvia Fox writes steamy stories about alphas who aren’t afraid of taking what they want, and the women who love them. Each release is a stand alone with a guaranteed happily ever after. Cliff hangers and brooding angst won’t be found here — Sylvia prefers a man who delivers a good spanking and a diamond ring.
-great build up from hate>lust -lots of chemistry between characters -No OW Drama -H not a man whore -both not virgins -I feel like there was a missing chunk between the last chapter and the epilogue... I would have liked more to the story to make it feel complete -HEA with epilogue
work me, Alpha is a quick story. We meet the heroine in the second book, she works at a bar and is having trouble with the new owner to the bar. The hero is known to buy buildings or bar to be exact and making them the next hip thing. The heroine was the only one to stay from stay but only because he wanted her as soon as her seen her. Working together is hard because she has strong feelings but each time they get closer to catching feelings. I wanted more is was too short but sweet.
I really love this book so much. The author did a great job in bringing two opposites together. Not to mention the hot sex. These two characters remind me of Frick and Frack and it's awesome.
The sarcastic comments that Carrie throws at him as a defense because she hates him blames him for splitting her workplace family apart landon becomes owner of the Hell Cat bar and closes it down for renewal due to it being rundown. He fires everyone except Carrie who he finds attractive in many ways he offers her manager position of the bar and ends up falling in love with her
Meh. Maybe I'm a little burned out on Sylvia Fox (I've read about 8 of her novellas in the last week or so) but I didn't enjoy this Billionaire Boss series. I think I'll stop reading her for a while and come back so I don't burn out on her completely.
This was fast paced, insta-lust/love, but nothing really "dramatic" happened. The characters were ok. The sexy scenes were ok, but once anal play was involved I kinda fell out of the scene. More power to anyone who enjoys it, but it's just not for me.
Carrie, a bartender, loves her job, it's why she's been there since the place opened. Of course, now that there's a new owner, one she can't stand, she has a feeling she'll soon be unemployed. He's fired everyone else that worked under the previous boss, so she assumes, when she's called into his office, that she's next. When he states he wants to offer her the manager position, with a raise, she doesn't believe him and tells him so, bluntly, along with the reasons why he's ruining the bar.
Liam bought the place to save it, but due to the contract, can't reveal that piece of information. Though he usually replaces the staff because it's easier to start fresh, he couldn't let Carrie go. A wise decision? Probably not considering she doesn't have managerial experience nor does she seem apt to agree with him...ever, but for reasons he can't explain and she drives him nuts, he wants her to stay.
Yet even though they can't stop snipping at each other, both are beginning to notice other things to, such as her curves and his biceps. When Liam reveals a personal story to Carrie, she can't help but see him a little differently.
"I don't want him. Nope. Not at all. Okay, maybe just a little." - Carrie
When Liam and Carrie begin shopping for the renovations, Liam starts to think they can be civil, professional, as well as other things he's starting to imagine. But it doesn't last long. It's like Carrie can't resist taking a shot at him simply because he could afford to buy the bar and did.
"This tiniest of connections shouldn't turn me on, but it does." - Liam
But the night after they act on the explosive chemistry between them, the morning after doesn't quite go as Carrie, nor Liam, had hoped.
Can these two work through their issues? What was Liam trying to say that morning? Did Carrie misunderstand? Will Liam go after Carrie? Or will be believe her claim that it was a mistake? Did she mean it or was it a defense mechanism? Will Liam and Carrie get a HEA? Will the bar be a balance of both their dreams?

I absolutely love this series written with Sylvia’s perky hand. Her male characters are all alpha, each with the same characteristics that is their falling in love is quite tumultuous and thrilling. The book was an enjoyable read, with a very fast paced story. Liam and Carrie, two strong characters that work together as boss and employee. He will buy the bar in which Carrie works but the transition with the new ownership will not be easy. Their mutual hatred will turn out to be an explosive combination that will become love. A short read which I highly recommend
3.5 Stars. I enjoyed this book. I liked Carrie and her snarky sense of humour. The attraction between Liam and Carrie was clear to see, I just wish there were more of Liam. I liked that this book was different from the previous two, in the previous two both the heroines packed up to head home, Carrie didn’t. The ending for this book was super sweet. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a nice read. if you’re looking for a fast paced romance then this book is for you. I read this book in one sitting and was left satisfied with the ending.
Carrie and Liam are two unlikely characters who would never given each other the time of day until Liam buys the bar that Carrie worked at. Being thrown together as owner and employee the sparks fly and the dominance explodes. This was a great story. Sylvia Fox always writes for the readers enjoyment.
I really enjoyed this book. The banter between Liam and Carrie was funny and full of innuendos, they also had a pretty great chemistry. One thing annoyed me, though—the ending was pretty abrupt. It was like reading a fairy-tale where the main characters finally get together and the following sentence is, "And they live happily ever after." I desperately wanted to know more about them and how their relationship would look like.
I really liked this book. The characters were great and they had wonderful chemistry and a great story. The only thing I wish is that this one was a little longer. But it is a Sylvia Fox book so you expect it to be short and sweet and it is. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
I have read Sylvia's book before but I love this book more. They are better written. I do miss the virgin h but I can live with out that as long as HEA.
Carrie is a bartender at the Hell Cat when it is bought by Liam and everything starts changing. When Liam starts firing staff and making changes Carrie is mad and ready to fight. The chemistry between the two is crazy hot and eventually they give into their attraction. This book was a super quick read. Just wish there was a bit more to the story. *I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy of this book *
The story isn't bad. It could have turned into a longer story with more depth to it, but it isn't bad as a quick read. My problem is that Liam is a wealthy, smart man, why would he have sex without a condom with someone he hasn't had sex with before? Carrie also seems like she should know better. She doesn't like the guy and yet it's up for random unprotected sex. It just bugs me when smart people do such a stupid thing when it really doesn't go with their character.
I love stories like this! Enemies to lovers. How many of us wish things could have worked out like this in our place of business? Carrie and Liam are awesome!
I gave this installment one star more than its predecessors mainly because of the hot scene in the photo booth. Yum. Very short story, low angst, hardly any conflict.
Work Me, Alpha, by Sylvia Fox, is the third book of the Billionaire Boss series. This book was a deliciously fun and fast read. Easily devoured one evening, enjoyed it.
