For Cameron Blackwood, Vanessa is the one who got away. The one who made him question everything. The one who broke his heart. He built an empire with his bare hands, but he'd give it all up for a chance to have her back--except she married someone else. Now he's left with nothing but anger and ambition to warm his bed.
A decade later, their paths cross again. She's taken control of his biggest rival company, and he's determined to see her ruined. But his heart has other plans. Can she forgive him for the sins of his past? Can he forgive her for breaking his heart? Truths will be revealed, emotions bared. Neither of them is prepared for what lies in store.

After Sam and Dakota, Cam and Vanessa are my second favorite couple. The intensity between these two was bouncing off the walls.
Cam and Vanessa dated 12 years ago and hadn't seen each other in all the time. She's American Royalty and he's biracial from the wrong sides of the track. But now 12 years later he's extremely wealthy and she's still royalty. Only this time the resentment and anger towards each other is really high. They break up was messy and it still showed after all those years.
But one thing was for sure, the love and fire was still there as much as they tried to not see it. Words were exchanged and the animosity was wow and I kept wandering how in the world would these two get their HEA. Secrets were revealed, misunderstandings were cleared up and they finally put their differences aside.
I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy of this book from the author.
I received this book as an ARC for my honest review. This book is as amazing as I expected it to be having read all of Jeana's other books. It can be read as a stand alone but, in my opinion, wouldn't be truly appreciated unless you've read the previous 5 books, though read-worthy on it's own. All are well written with characters who are well developed and relatable. Regardless of status, wealth or grandeur, we are all a bit broken. If you love the heart wrenching, tug and pull of a love / hate relationship, then this book is for you. The story line is bifurcated, told both in past and present tense from a dual point of view. It reflects on the story of how two people from very different worlds fell in love and the misunderstandings that ripped them apart. Each time pulling you back to the present as you learn more and more how and why Vanessa and Cam became who they are today. I love stories where the two main characters have the power to unravel each other but are the only ones able to piece one another back together. Well worth the price of admission for $0.99.
Finished 10:45 pm Wednesday 01/24/24 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ ish Advising loved. 🥰 I think it’s my favorite from the whole series. I love kids and even though they weren’t involved till the end, it was so cute to see. Both characters were very conflicted in their emotions and the resulting way they expressed them was hated and animosity towards e/o even though they just had to dissolve the tension. How author went back and forth between the post and present was phenomenal. There was one slip up where it was labeled incorrectly though, but was quick to decide what time period it should have been. (Exact chapter to be inserted) I love how they couldn’t control themselves around each other. Allowing themselves to act on what they really wanted which kind of started to dissolve the strain little by little by releasing some sexual tension. It allows them to express their feelings without actually saying their feelings. Building up the courage to do so.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I love how Mann manages to make her characters relatable and interesting all at once, and that can definitely be said for these characters. I loved getting to know them and the way that the book was structured (flipping from past to present) really helped with that. I was hooked! But then...it just ended. I felt that the resolution came a little quickly and with no real reasoning - it just seemed like everything was suddenly all okay. The thing is, if I wasn't so invested in the characters, that would probably have been fine - but I just wanted more from them! Overall, the first three quarters of the book had real heart, but the last little bit left me a unsatisfied. Maybe we will see more of these characters if there's another 'Pretty Broken' book, and then I'll be happy!
This was an Awesome Read! Cam and Vanessa have a past together! Fast foward 12 years later, they meet again. And.......... I must say, there is so much intensity between these two, that it's shooting laser beams off of them. If it was a real life encounter, I wouldn't won't to be in the room. Both feel they have been wrong by the other. Let me just say, you aren't going to want to miss reading this book! It has so much real emotion in it. There were times my heart ached for the life that Cam endured. Despite all that, Cam managed to rise to the top and make something for himself. It going to be FIVE Dreamy Stars for me!!!
I enjoyed reading this book and the characters were well developed and compelling. The writing flowed easily and effortless and kept me involved in the story. The lovemaking was scorching hot, sizzling and passionate. Cam and Vanessa love was strong enough to with stand a 12year break .Overall this book was outstanding and you will not be disappointed by selecting it.
Great read through and through. I am hoping the next book in the series is a continuation of this book. I know there's more to this story and I cannot wait to read it.
