I read this yesterday with my sister and it was a fun book! It has cute illustrations and a sweet message, perfect for children between 5-10 years old. And yes, I'm counting this in my reading challenge as I add all books above 50 pages, and this is 80 pages long.

I just needed a break from adulting and found this adorable series to read. The illustrations were very cute and each book in the series has a good, short story.
Perfect for elementary students/early intermediate ELLs. Great drawings and a fun and developed world. I wish I could art so I could create something like this for my stories!
This book was really great because it was really funny. Sue and Eva were having a competition about whoever has the best candy store to raise money for Macy's little sister's wheelchair. Sue and Eva's teams tied because they both raised the same amount of money. Macy's little sister got the wheelchair and was so happy she could play wingball again.
Read aloud to Meadow. I loved that they were saving up for Mia's Wingchair. I had no idea what to expect with a wingchair and it was super cool at the end when it was revealed. I really enjoy reading this book with Meadow because she's always asking "can we read another chapter pleaassse?" And that's music to my bookworm ears!
A series offered by Scholastic's Branches imprint of early chapter books. Lots of visual support for the text, making it perfect for emergent readers and children transitioning from picture books into chapter books. The diary format produces text in a conversational style, further enhanced through the abundant use of speech bubbles. The protagonist, Eva, is a likable, creative problem-solver who likes to involve and support her friends. Each volume contains comprehension questions at the back of the book.
In this seventh title of the series, Eva and her classmates organize fundraisers to benefit a classmate's younger sister who needs an assistive device to fly, due to her undersized wings. They divide into two teams, then both groups plan and implement a fundraising initiative. But they get too caught up in competing with one another, forgetting to work together to achieve their charitable goal. In the end, they find a way to combine their efforts and repair their friendships.
Funny and delightful, though the series up to here is quite repetitive. 4.5/5 Interesting read friendship/family: ✩✩✩✩✩ plot development: ✩✩ overal: ✩✩✩✩ Like my post to be mentioned ;) (and get a shoutout if you follow my bookstagram, wattpad and pinterest I am usually found here: https://beacons.ai/chevreads (check it out:)) Find me on: Instagram: @chevreads Wattpad: @writerthursday Pinterest: @thursdayfrappe Youtube: @chevreads P.S. Eva and her classmates think of ways to raise money for a little owl who needs a wing chair in order to fly. Along the way, they learn lessons about competition and cooperation. Wonderful story!
One of Eva's classmates has a little sister who can't fly because her wings are too small and needs a wing-chair. Eva's class decides to fundraise, but what will happen when the bakery students and the candy students get too competitive? I really appreciate fundraising in order to help someone in need.
I thought it was weird and nice at the same time. Cause one of the owls baby sister her name is Mia(THAT IS MY BEST FRIENDS NAME) and the main character name is Eva ( THAT IS HER MOMs NAME)Eva Lucy and sue make a bakery cause the owls baby sisters is going to pre-k. But Mia can’t fly yet. So she needs a wingchaiar for school. So they make a bakery to raise money.

Hey there, fellow bookworms! I just finished reading and reviewing an amazing book called Owl Diaries The Wildwood Bakery. It's actually the seventh book in the Owl Diaries series. Let me tell you all about it!
In this book, something really exciting happens. Kiara's sister is going to start school at Treetop Elementary. But here's the thing: she can't fly because her wings are too small. She was born that way. So, what does she need? A wing chair! It's like a wheelchair but for flying. But there's a problem. They don't have enough Moon dollars to buy the wing chair. Oh no!
But you know what? Eva and her friends are super smart and creative. They decide to start a fundraiser to raise the Moon dollars needed for Kiara's wing chair. They come up with lots of cool ideas. Mr. Featherbottom asks them for their ideas, and they suggest things like selling paintings, having a pajama day where everyone pays one Moon Doll to wear pajamas to school, a magic show, a pet salon, a sweet shop, a photo booth, a costume party, a treehouse window cleaning service, and even a bakery!
Mr. Featherbottom loves their ideas so much that he chooses two of them. He picks Sue's idea for a sweet shop and Eva and Lucy's idea for a bakery. How awesome is that? So, the story focuses on the bakery part. They have to sell enough baked goods to raise the Moon dollars they need. But things get a little competitive, and they start forgetting that the main goal is to raise money for Kiara's wing chair. Uh-oh!
Suddenly, Kiara's little sister feels sad because she thinks everyone only cares about winning and not about helping her. She doesn't want to continue with the fundraiser anymore. That's when Eva and her friends realize their mistake. They realize that winning is not everything. It's more important to have fun and remember why they started the fundraiser in the first place.
In the end, they still raise enough Moon dollars for Kiara's wing chair, but they also learn an important lesson. They play a game called Wing Ball, where everything gets all messy and torn up, and it reminds them that winning isn't everything.
From this book, I learned that winning is not the most important thing. It's more important to have fun and help others. Eva is always in a hurry and focused on winning, but she forgets the real purpose of the fundraiser. So, the lesson or message of the book is that winning is not everything.
I really enjoyed reading Owl Diaries The Wildwood Bakery. It's a fun and heartwarming story with beautiful illustrations that bring the characters to life. If you like books about friendship, teamwork, and learning important life lessons, then this book is definitely for you!
This book has received glowing reviews and is a must-read for fans of the genre. Don't wait. Click the link to purchase your copy now! https://amzn.to/41UkZrn
I've got so much to say about this book. Watch my full review on my YouTube channel to hear all my thoughts. https://youtu.be/lCeAonK40jE
{My thoughts} – Eva and her classmates decide they won’t to open up a bakery and a candy shop. They decide they will use the funds earned to help a classmates sister get a special chair she needs to help her fly.
The first night they are open they earn enough for the chair. The second night both shops merge together after working out their differences and earn enough to buy the needed things for a sports team at school that needed new equipment.
I really like how these books all have lessons in them. Most of the time the owls aren’t fully getting along but in the end they set aside their differences and work things out for the greater good.
I really enjoy these books. They are colorful, simple stories that are easy to understand. They each have a small lesson that ends with discussion questions. The discussion questions can be used to determine how much of the story the reader fully understood.
I recommend these books for any child that enjoys reading and wants to read about owls. These books are fun but also contain facts about owls withing their pages too. I think any child would enjoy having these books added to their book collection.
The 7th book in the Owl Diaries series and Eva's still bouncy and keen to be involved in her school and community. Storyline has Eva and her classmates proposing a plan to raise money for a friend's little sis whose wings don't enable her to fly, a 'wingchair' is the goal. They divide into two teams, one to bake and sell cupcakes at their Wildwood Bakery; the other team with Eva's rival Sue opens a candy shop. The fun begins! Again, teamwork is front and centre, friendships and compromising: Eva and Sue pool their resources when Eva's team runs out of flour and Sue's runs out of sugar. Win-win in the end and the 'wingchair' is purchased. Like the other books, the art is colourful, perky and downright fun! Solid series for emerging readers in second grade.
Another fun addition to this adorable series! This book sees Eva and her class starting a bakery and a candy shop to raise money for a girl who needs a special wing chair to fly since her wings weren't developed enough for her to fly on her own. We see Eva and the other characters get caught up in the competition, and it's a good example of remembering the WHY. I also liked that we got to see a character that was differently-abled. These books have dealt with some deeper concepts lately, so it was nice to see that continue.
For: fans of owls; readers wanting a diary format and fun illustrations; readers looking for a book with characters with disabilities.
Possible red flags: angst; competition makes them lose sight of the real purpose; name calling; character with disabilities.
They needed new shops and Sue thought of a candy shop, but Lucy and Eva wanted a bakery. They started it on sunday, they had a sign, aprons, membership cards, and they had posters to show that it was opening. When it opened, they ran out of treats and the candy store ran out of bags, so they decided to team up and make the candy bakery!
I liked them teaming up, because sue isn't always nice and so when she teamed up with them, it made me happy. Macys little sister loved wingball, she couldn't fly yet,but she could catch the ball, but they needed new equipment so that was why they needed more money.

This is a super cute series for those students/kids who are getting into chapter books. The text is engaging with it's speech bubbles and placement on the page. The owls are cute. On page 43, they make like ninjas to find carrots for the muffins. Very cute.
My third graders love this series. I think second would too. It is leveled at M by Fountas and Pinell.
It also teaches a moral about how working together toward a goal is the most important thing, not winning.
THere's a bake off to raise money for one of the owl's little sisters in Eva's class. They want to raise money to buy her a wing chair because she can't fly. Eva's team, the Wildwood Bakery, raised enough money. The other team, the Candy Crunch Shop, was spying on Eva's team but thankfully they didn't steal Eva's idea. The Wildwood Bakery and The Candy Crunch Shop worked together and raised enough money to buy the wing chair.
Disappointing...I really loved this series for growing readers, but this one left a lot to be desired. I feel like the first 6 books in the series were stronger. Hoping the next one will be better because this was such a great premise (especially for young female readers).
On the bright side, the art work is still adorable!
Eva's class starts a bakery and a candy shop to raise money for an owl who needs a special chair in order to fly. It becomes a competition to see who can raise the most money until they remember that they are trying to help a classmate's little sister.
I love the Owl Diaries series and look forward to reading them.
I was given a box of kids books and this was among the pile. It’s actually quite cute. The classroom has a competition to raise money for a wing chair for Eva’s little owl sister who was born with wings too short. They enter an unhealthy rivalry and with wise counsel from teacher and family member are able to work together towards a common goal.
I love the ideas behind kids experiencing the process beginning a "company," but also the purpose to WHY Eva and her classmates are raising the money in the first place. This is awesome. One of my favorite series for kids, and this one didn't disappoint. =)
