The dead don't stay silent, and their cries for justice won't go unheard. A wealthy resident of Ocean Falls was convinced someone was trying to kill him, so when Olivia Harrington stumbles across his body she's now his only hope of solving the mystery and finding a murderer. To make matters worse, her sister, Scarlett is causing trouble in her job at the Daily Falls, the hot mystery biker seems to be twisting the truth and her grandparents are keeping secrets. With the clock ticking, Olivia and her sidekick, Charley are forced into unraveling the lies while local detective Noah Mansfield tries to set aside his doubts about Olivia's unique gift. Join Olivia in Desperate Murder, the second cozy mystery as she uncovers the clues, sifts through secrets and lies while using her unusual gift to thwart another crime. There is no violence, sex or profanity. Every book contains great characters, lots of twists and an intriguing mystery.
The second book in the series has quite a bit of intrigue going on. First you have Scarlett, Olivia's sister that she knew nothing about. Scarlett seems to have an agenda, and has been wrecking havoc in Olivia's life. Then you have the mysterious stranger on the motorcycle. Some questions will be answered about him, but there is something deeper going on with him and his family. Then you have a murder and Olivia is trying to help solve it and things aren't what they seem. Let's not forget about the cute cop Noah, who seems to have the hots for Olivia. So a lot going on for a short afternoon read and it will keep you on your toes guessing and entertained, with mystery in every situation. I look forward to the next book and I hope my suspicions about the boys with the amber eyes is confirmed. So sit back, relax, and enjoy an entertaining read with mystery and a few romantic interests.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
It was a good book.I read 2before 1 .not that I didn't catch on to the story.can't wait for 3.so far all of Emma watts books are great.they seem to be what everyday life can be for some.her books aren't far out there with fantasy .I've enjoyed all her books so far.
It was fast moving. Lots of wonderful good characters. Highly recommended. Start with number one. Emma Watts is a very good writer I've read all of her books. Love the Paranormal
I actually enjoyed the background story more than the mystery.
Great read. Another murder and the ongoing mystery from book one continues. A frantic phone call, a dead body, a sister she knew nothing about with dark powers, the mystery man is even more mysterious once she meets him, lies, betrayal, greed and more romantic interest then she can handle. Especially when her newly found sister causes her zany friend to lose his job and consequently her own. Great background story wrapped up in a mystery of the dead rich senior. Can she come to grips with everything including the powers that her sister has? Great characters and a beautifully crafted plot that grips you in the background story and makes you want more.
The latest murder mystery involves one of the rich families in town. Did the heirs do it for the money? Who is the mysterious Michael, who lives in a mansion the neighbors say is abandoned and haunted?! And what the heck is Scarlett doing?
