Theme Song #2

How You Get The Girl

Rate this book
As Hollywood’s hottest actor, getting a woman in my bed is never a challenge.

Then I spotted her at a bar—she wanted a man for the night, and I jumped at the chance to fill the role. I gave her Joel Kline’s best, and she smacked my pretty face.

But don’t worry, that’s not the end of our story. Her brand of crazy inspired me, and I had to see her again, no matter the cost.

Now, Alessandra Rose is my lead makeup artist for the next four months.

Literally, her job is to touch me every day for the duration of filming. Sounds like a win, right?

Nope, she stops me at every hint of a flirt. I’m in uncharted waters for once.

Joel Kline’s famous techniques to get the girl are failing me. It’s no longer about those sexy Brazilian lips, or her fiery spirit that gives me a hard-on.

It’s about making her banana pancakes after she spends the night in my home.

It’s about knocking down those walls around her, claiming her as mine.

She’s going to fight me, of course, unwilling to accept that it’s not all an act.

But I’m not going anywhere; that’s how you get the girl.

descriptionI LOVE this cover! Excellent representation of the hero and story. Great use of graphics. Interesting and eye-catching typography. Great composition. Just a fantastic cover over all.description

descriptionSo I really enjoyed this one (for the most part). As always with this author, it was a well written and nicely paced book. It had some mild angst and drama. Some hot sex scenes. Some witty banter. A likable kid. We also get a little bit of the couple from the first book. Wrapped up with a sweet epilogue.

description

So why not 5-Stars? The heroine. It's no secret that I am picky about my heroines. Especially when you pair them with a likable and sweet hero which was the case here. Joel was just a super great guy. He was sweet. He was funny. He was devoted. I got really tired of the heroine's attitude towards him. I hated that it was him that pretty much had to do everything to make their relationship work. It annoyed me to NO end that after throwing a fit worthy of a 3-year-old over something that wasn't true and not giving the hero a chance to explain, the heroine slinks off and does NOTHING for weeks. Again the hero was the one doing all the work to get her back when he did NOTHING wrong in the first place! I felt the onus should have been on the heroine to make things right.

Unfortunately because of all that it did drop my rating down a star. Overall though (and if you are not easily annoyed by heroines) then this book is definitely worth the read. Two thumbs up from yours truly.description

It's Live!!

** ARC RECEIVED IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **

Movie Star gets the girl!  Jessica Florence yet again made me smile and swoon and stay up until the wee morning hours because I NEEDED to finish this story!

Movie stars (and rock stars) don't always work for me because of the fact that they are often on the nasty side.  I didn't get that vibe from Joel at all.  Was he a ladies man? Yes!   But, when he met Alessandra, he knew he wanted more with her and he set out to prove that he was not the player she thought him to be

HERO~I enjoyed Joel! He was witty, sexy and his dedication to Alessandra was so endearing.   Once he met her,  there was NO ONE else for him.  He had a playboy reputation.  A famous actor who could get any woman he wanted, and did.   Until he met his girl.  Where other women jumped on his cheesy pick up lines, Alessandra wasn't moved.  Joel knew that she was special and if he was going to get the girl, he had to use more action than words.

HEROINE~I'm tough on heroines.  I don't like a doormat, yet I can't stand an alpha female.   Alessandra was a perfect mix of strong and vulnerable. She was a single mom of a 13 year old boy, raising him since birth alone.  She worked hard to provide for them and did it well.   However,  she had been  deserted by her boyfriend at 17, pregnant and alone,  so he could pursue his acting.  So I did understand her hesitancy to let Joel in.

SEXUAL HISTORY~Joel wasn't a manwhore, but he wasn't a saint.  As a single Hollywood elite, he'd been with many but that all changed when he met Alessandra-

“But you are a casanova. Bet you’ve slept with a bunch of women here, haven’t you?”  She was wrong about that, but I didn’t feel like correcting her. She had this notion in her head that I was a huge manwhore. I did have sex, lots of it. But I wasn’t a manwhore like she was thinking. And even though I wanted her more than anything, I never mixed business and pleasure. I had a reputation for professionalism. You could ask anyone in Hollywood—they would tell you that I never slept with my coworkers, something most actors and actresses couldn’t say.

Alessandra was a single mom who didn't go out much.  An occasional ONS was all she had, and that had been a long time ago. Her priority was being a mom and being there with him.

VIOLENCE ~zero

OM DRAMA ~ Nothing other than a phone call from the dead beat ex who planted seeds of doubt in her head

OW DRAMA~There was no OW for Joel whatsoever. There was a classic misunderstanding of a photo that caused a significant rift in the relationship.  (I wish they had cleared it up faster)

ENDING~ There was an adorable epilogue 2 month out.  It made me laugh because it was so "them" .  I wish there was a better look into their future though.

I loved the who "theme song" aspect of the story.  It was fun and sweet.  I want more from this gang.  I haven't had my fill!

It's LIVE!! AMAZON

How You Get The Girl is the second book in Jessica Florence's Theme Song series. It can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend you to read Long Drive, the first book in the series and meet Killian Lemarque. Sighs

♫ Run away
Don’t let him mess with your mind
He’ll tell you anything you want to hear
He’ll break your heart
It’s just a matter of time
But just remember

He’s a good time cowboy casanova ♫

Cowboy Casanova by Carrie Underwood

Joel Kline is Hollywood's hottest actor, getting a woman to warm his bed has never been a problem. So the moment he spotted her at the bar, he wanted her. She was just looking for a one night stand but Joel and his "casanova" vibes were a no-no. Things didn't turn out as expected, but that doesn't mean they couldn't change later.

I LOVED Joel! He was everything.

♫ Maneater, make you work hard
Make you spend hard
Make you want all, of her love
She's a maneater...♫

Maneater by Nelly Furtado

Alessandra Rose is a makeup artist. She didn't think that she would see Joel again but fate has a funny way of coming around. So she ended up working in the same movie as Joel. She's not looking for a relationship, but how in the world is she going to ignore the attraction she feels toward him? And more when it feels like their fates are intertwined.

description

Jessica Florence serves up a delicious serving of sexy wit and lots of fun in this charming tale of a man and a woman living in different worlds but that fate put together for one reason, LOVE.

The only downer I found here was Alessandra. I did like her, but there were some moments when I really wanted to vagina punched her. Joel was perfect. PERFECT. And it annoyed me to no end that he was the one doing all the work. I totally understand her insecurities with her "past" and Joel's bad reputation but c'mon, he was showing you with actions that he loved you. So WHY? Wake the fuck up Alessandra, if you don't want him, I do so watch your back.

How You Get The Girl is the perfect recipe of quirky and sexy. Ideal for all romance readers looking for a happy ending.

”I think I knew from the first meeting that she wasn’t a girl I would ever forget.”

“I see my future in your eyes; I always have.”

Characters
Joel (30, actor):
The following words/phrases were used to describe Joel: Casanova, charming, hard worker, sexy, persistent

Three things about Joel:
- Holds the title of “Sexiest Man Alive”
- Hollywood’s hottest actor.
- he has a car collection

Quote about Joel:
" I actually liked being in relationships. I wasn’t a serial dater, but when I found someone I could spend time with other than just sex, I would."

Alessandra (30, make-up artist):
The following words/phrases were used to describe heroine: spunky, fiery, man-eater, spicy-vixen, feisty, refreshing, adorable, lioness

Three things about Alessandra:
- she has a 13 year old son, Jenson
- She surfs
- her ex was an actor, so she doesn’t trust actors

Some quotes about Alessandra:
“Chocolate really was a cure for all that ails.”

“I was so young when I had him. Seventeen. He wasn’t planned, but I loved him desperately.”

My Thoughts:
The following are my thoughts about this book:
- The first paragraph clearly established the type of H in the book☺️😳 ”I could tell by the way she was looking at me that she knew what type of man I was—a man that would fuck her into the morning hours and still have her screaming for more.” 🔥
- The repeated use of the word "wanna" instead of "want to" bothered me. It was all throughout the book and I didn’t feel it accurately portrayed the way the characters would talk. They didn’t typically talk in “slang” "Doesn’t change that I wanna kiss the shit out of you right now. But I’ll keep the suspense up and wait until the end of our date. Otherwise you won’t wanna keep your lips off me."
- The “theme" song element was cute. I've seen it used in other books and I usually like to see what songs are used to express feelings.
- The other couple in the book also used theme songs to express their feelings. 👎👎 After that happened, it didn’t seem so special for Joel & Alessandra because it’s clearly what everyone does.
- I had a hard time connecting with the characters. There was no depth to them.
- Ok.....I think this was meant to be a cheesy line, but still - I almost barfed a little 🤮 when I read it. 😬 ”Soon you will be looking at me with a little twinkle in your eyes. Then you will want me to open your lady flower and gently caress your soft petals.”
- Predictable plot
- I can’t put my finger on it, but there was something about the writing style that just didn’t work for me.
- the reason for the separation was cliche’. It frustrates me when couples jump to conclusions and then aren’t adult enough to discuss things and just run away instead. This was totally on the part of Alessandra 😠 Joel was the one who wanted to talk.
- Great cover....it’s what drew me to the book
- I felt like the H did all the work for the relationship and when Alessandra pitched a hissy fit and ran away he was the one to ultimately chase after her and provide the big gesture. 😏. In my opinion, she needed to be the one to grovel and try to win him back.

Recap:
- POV: dual POV
- Tropes: boss/co-worker, kind of enemies to lovers (more on h part as she didn’t like H), celebrity
- H likable? Yes. I didn’t connect with him either, but overall I don’t have any complaints about him.
- h likable? Not really. There was just something about her that I didn’t connect with.
- h virgin? no
- First time they kiss: 27%
- First time they sleep together: 64%
- steamy? I guess. But, because I didn’t really like the h I probably didn’t fully appreciate the steam.
- OW/OM drama?not in reality (just in the h’s insecure mind)
- H/h cheat? no
- Did I skip pages? Yes
- Big secrets? technically yes. H didn’t tell h about something and it was revealed at 83%
- Did I cry? no
- Did I laugh? no
- Cliffhanger? no
- Epilogue? yes. 2 months later
- Recommend? not really

Quotes
"This song goes out to all you ladies who think you’re leaving with a prime steak, but all you got is a hot dog.”

"I wanted to screw her into an orgasm coma for sure, but I also wanted to make her banana pancakes in the morning, wash her hair in my shower, and rub her feet after the long days of her standing on set."

“You’re lucky I don’t feel like losing my job, otherwise I would make you look like Ursula from The Little Mermaid.”

“I’ll let you play hide the snake in the bushes.”

“I’m not going to give up or go anywhere, until you are in my arms where you belong.”

Somehow, stories where MC is a celebrity always makes me giddy. This book was no exception.
Joel is super famous and he has his eyes on his make up artist Alessandra. She is a single mom who works hard for her family. She cannot be swept away by charms of an actor. How can Joel convince her that this is not a fling but forever.
I absolutely loved Joel and his inner monologues. I loved Alessandra'a strength for all she achieved. This was a angst-free fun read with amazing MC and side characters.

4 fun loving stars!!! What a cute, funny, love at first sight book!!

This is part of the "Theme Song" series but I read as a stand alone and it did not effect the story line. Though I will say I am dying to know about Livia and Killian....

This is Joel and Alessandra's love story. These two are just the perfect pair. One hot tempered Brazilian beauty and a hot as sin cocky movie star. I love them together so much!! These two were meant to be but good luck letting Alessandra in on that.....

I just love this couple. I am not a single mother but if I were I think I would be the same way as Alessandra and I think she is a strong woman, who just needed the right man to help her see it is ok to be vulnerable. And don't think all this doesn't eventually wind up in some hot and sexy, down and dirty sexy time scenes!! I also the loved the instant connection between Jenson and Joel. The end of the book brought me to the most beautiful tears!! Also I want to add that the music in this book was PERFECT (I even had to stop and play the James Arthur song at one point to just feel it all)!!

This author is not new to me so I knew going in this was going to be a very well laid out story. What I didn't realize was how funny and just awesome this book would be. I was expecting cocky, arrogant and maybe starry eyed. But that was not what I got. I was impressed!! If you are looking for fast paced funny romance...this is it!!

**I received this book as an ARC and in return I gave my honest review**

How You Get The Girl is the second book in Jessica Florence's Theme Song series. It reads perfectly as a standalone, but the side characters do interconnect since they're the main characters in book one, Long Ride. It's not imperative that you read it, but it's a good jumping off point.

Joel Kline is Hollywood's leading man, Alessandra Rose is his makeup artist. She's not looking for a relationship, but he's completely drawn to her and will go to great lengths to get her to realize it. Their banter was great, and I've come to realize that Jessica Florence is great with romantic comedy. Her writing is quick-witted and fun and easy to devour in one sitting.

Since I read this book after Long Ride, I can definitely say that I related to How You Get the Girl more. It was funnier for me, and with Alessandra being a single mother, I feel like my maternal side kicked in and I enjoyed it that much more.

This book is very sweet and funny :) great story! I love reading this so much i want to read it again!

NO CHEATING
NO VIOLENCE
NO ANNOYING B*TCHES

HAPPY ENDING

There’s a separation but only for view months and neither have anyone else in their life’s.

Overall this story is very much what i want from a hero. The hero is very protective and wants the heroine SOOOOO BAD like literally soooo bad... even tho the heroine is very sassy and very private person but the hero never stops himself to get her.

He always wants her even in the first place when he saw her... he always say that he wants her and those sweet words he always say to himself about her is just very romantic!

The hero is very possessive but not too much...

GREAT STORY :) but i need a longer epilogue! :p

** I was given an ARC in exchange of an honest review. **

I was seduced by this story, about this hollywood actor and the feisty makeup artist.

Joel Kline and Alessandra Rose won me over. A beautiful, sexy and sweet story, definitely not what I expected. So different and enticing.

Joel Kline was not the usual hero, especially as a hollywood actor. When he met this beautiful and sexy woman who blew him off before he had a chance to charm her, he became obsessed. A little much I would say. He may be cocky, uber confident but he was hard-headed and devoted. His inner monologues? Priceless! As you might guess I had a crush on this fictional character.

Conscious that being in the spotlight, rumors about his love life or being a womanizer was his normality. How to get a girl and have a chance for love would work?

Alessandra Rose was a strong and independent woman. Staying away from the guys like him. Raising her son alone, she did it great. Adding a man like him? Trouble with a capital T. She was feisty and had a brand of crazy.

And a woman like her was all Joel Kline wanted but he had to play differently and definitely had to work more to get her, because she was worth the fight.

I was pleasantly surprised by the turning events and by the male character. It was well written, with some drama and angst, and witty banter and a great kid in the middle.

The chemistry between them? Freaking awesome! It was natural, sensual and so hot. The main and side characters were great and I read their story with a huge smile on my face.  I enjoyed how the music was added into their story, so sweet and romantic. They were just a great pair!

A breath of fresh air with some feel good vibes. That story made me smile and so swoon so many times that I lost count. Crazy and funny, hot and sexy! Right up my alley!

Another cute and funny story by this refreshing romantic author. I didn't think I'd like Joel because he seemed like such a playboy. I mean as a buddy he was awesome and hilarious but as a hero I kinda worried. But in true Jessica fashion she peeled back the layers of this truly good guy and showed what a real man would do to get his girl.

And he did. everything.

Allesandra was a feisty, funny lady who was also a kick butt mom. I love strong women who just rock at taking care of themselves and their kids. When it came down to it she learned she could have a partner.

I adored the interaction with Jensen. He's a crazy cool kid. Lots of laugh out loud moments.

I have only a few slight peeves and it's really that I wanted more. More real life experience on how they made it work once they all became a family. I just feel a little greedy.
My Theme Song at the end was

And that's not a bad thing at all.

How You Get The Girl by Jessica Florence is such a fun, sweet, charming story that is so easy to get lost in. I absolutely adored this book and it will definitely not be my last book from Jessica. Her writing is so unique and leaves you with a flutter in your heart.

From their first off-the-wall encounter to the last, you will be glad you let Joel and Alessandra into your crazy book world.

Joel is one of the most in your face, caring, loveable characters out there. It was an instant love for me when it came to him. He saw a woman who pushed him and made him try harder to get her to love him back and never onced backed down. Now that is an amazing man.

Alessandra is a wonderful mother and friend. I loved how deep she felt and that no matter what was going on, her son came first. I respected her character and enjoyed her funny banters with Joel.

Don't think this story is all kisses and hugs because it isn't. Joel and Alessandra have to fight hard to get through everything that comes their way when the world finds out they're together. Not to mention Joel has to break all of Alessandra's walls before he can win her over because she's been broken by a movie star before. So lots of drama, love, growth and all in all, a beautiful ending. By the end of the story, I had tears with how sweet it was and how happy I was with the book.

I give How You Get The Girl by Jessica Florence 4 out of 5 HE'S THE MAN STARS!!

Joel Kline is Hollywood's hottest leading man, and so has no issues getting the ladies until the night he gives his best stuff to a Brazilian beauty, and she slaps his face. It doesn't deter him though, in fact, it intrigues him even more, as he believes it's not the end to their story. Alessandra Rose is a single mother to a teenage son, and has no time for hot actors trying to hook up. However, when she finds herself the lead makeup artist to Joel Kline's new movie, she knows she's in trouble. She feels an intense attraction to him, but knows he's trouble, that's why she slapped him. But she quickly figures out that he's not backing down on making her his, so how long will she be able to stay strong? I freakin' loved this very entertaining, and lighthearted story so much! I'm going to talk about the humor, as it was so funny that I laughed throughout the whole book, and most likely will talk about it again. Especially since Joel was so adorably cheesy, that he had my sides hurting from laughing. This is the first book that I've read by Jessica Florence, and her talented writing style has me instantly addicted. Not to mention her creativity of witty banter that was original. Like I couldn't get enough, and devoured it in one sitting. While most of it is hilarious, the hotness factor does pick up leading to SCORCHIN' sexy scene goodness, and a bit of a twist that had me dropping an f-bomb or two. I CANNOT WAIT to read more by this awesome lady, so I'll end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING How You Get the Girl to ALL!

3.5 stars

This was not your typical Hollywood storyline which I found refreshing. The movie star and the single mom, their first meeting wasn't a hit at all. Being your co-worker screams awkward but Joel isn't giving up. Despite a few not so subtle brush offs from Alessandra. He wants to win her over and he is tenacious.

Early on I didn't gravitate to her I usually like single parents and sassy heroines but something was off with how she came off for me. She had this expectant vibe from her actions I get why but laying it on. While I do like a hero that works for it you got to have some give and take at least in the relationship. Again, this is probably me and being picky with heroines. I liked Joel, seems like a great cool guy that had another side to the celebrity persona. His banter with the heroine was fun mostly when not bickering and bit crazy at times. Her kid was the typical teen but he was a good kid likable.

As my first Jessica Florence book the writing style took me a while to get used to and maybe why I didn't connect with it as much. I did like the premise of the story but I felt the some parts were clunky in the start. The pacing was fine and the flow smoothed out somewhat and the sweet epilogue. The cover appealed in the sketchy illustration way and overall look. A quick fun read that had good and bad but pleasant enough to be enjoyable.

Title: How You Get The Girl
Author: Jessica Florence
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Rating: 4/5

This was my first time reading a book by this particular author, it's the second in the series but can totally be read as a standalone.

How You Get The Girl was a perfectly wrapped package filled with romance and lots of charming sweet moments the banter was brilliant and there was many laugh out loud moments that had me chuckling away. I loved the storyline it was beautifully written and flowed along at an even pace, the characters were brilliant a sexy sweet hero with a strong yet vulnerable heroine who's the single mother of a likeable 13yr old boy along with other secondary characters made this an enjoyable read earning a solid 4 stars out of 5 from me.

The authors style of writing was right up my street and I'll definitely be checking out her other stuff.

This is why I love NA books. I loved Joel and Alessandra Story. It was sweet, romantic, dramatic, charming, and the most important SEXY!!! I was hooked from page one and was swooning by the end,

Alessandra was a strong, cultured and independent women. I loved how fierce she was. I loved how she made a beautiful life out of the hand she was given.

Joel, I totally pegged him as one one way, but the more the story unfolded the more I looked at him in a different light. He had so much more heart. sweetness and charm. The more the story unfolded the more I was completely smitten with Joel. SWOON!!!!

Joel and Alessandra's story is a bit of an up and down, pull and tug romance. You guys will love them as much as me. I highly recommend this charming and sexy romance! This book is a #MustRead

When it's the middle of the night and you're the only one awake, reading a book and enjoying the quiet - when you read something that causes you to laugh out loud, waking your family, you know it's gonna be a great story. This is my first read by Jessica Florence, but it won't be my last. How You Get the Girl is hilarious, sweet, sexy, and held my interest from the very first page. Joel is nothing at all what I expected from a movie star and Alessandra is full of fire with a take no nonsense attitude. The banter between them was witty and fun, and they are absolutely perfect for each other, even if Alessandra does fight the attraction, kicking and screaming the whole way. This is one that I'll pick back up over and over to revisit these fun characters.

This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone, this book was awesome! I seriously couldn't put it down, I laughed, cried and swooned while reading this. Joel, although a Hollywood actor is really sweet, not what I was imagining. Alessandra sees right through him from the start, as a single Mam she has more to think about than herself so tries to put distance between them. Joel does everything in his power to break down her walls, you can't help but fall in love with him! Will Joel get the girl? You will have to read to find out!!

This is my first time reading a book from Jessica Florence. Now I need to go back and read more from her. I laughed so much in this book. I was drawn into the book from the first page. The author did an awesome job with the storyline. It is well written and I found the pace was perfect too. Joel is a sexy movie star and Alessandra was a sassy makeup artist who was a single mom. I highly recommend this book. Keep up the amazing work! Definitely a MUST HAVE!

Joel & Alessandra's story is FUN, FLIRTY goodness! I enjoyed their banter & playfulness, and Joel's unwavering devotion. I loved Jenson & the dynamic there. I loved the interaction between Killian & Livia & Joel & Alessandra. All of it was spot on and a wonderful read! The only thing holding this back from being a 5++ star read for me was that the ending felt a little abrupt from the rest of the story. Everything flowed really well, until the last bit - the last chapter & epilogue were done BRILLIANTLY until it felt like *poof* it's done.

Other than that slight hiccup, this book gets two thumbs up & is definitely a re-read, and definitely one that I want a paperback of one of these days! : )

I thought I liked Joel from his appearance in the Long Drive but I totally fell in love with him in How You Get the Girl.

I always get excited for a new Jessica Florence release and she never disappoints. It was fun to see characters from the Long Drive make a few appearances in this book and get caught up on where they are in life since the book ended. Also, the Long Drive did not need to be read before How You Get the Girl. Both are standalones with cross-over characters.

The combination of Joel and Alessandra was fun to read. Their relationship was funny, fierce, and at times frustrating but in a good way because it kept me rooting (or yelling – depending on what was going on) for their relationship.

This is a fun read that I found myself unable to put down once I started. I definitely recommend this book and every other book by this author!

4.5 "Cowboy Casanova" Stars!!!

Theme song for the entire book: "Obsessed" by Dan + Shay

'How You Get the Girl' was such a fun and refreshing book with countless laugh-out-loud moments. Oh my gosh Joel and Alessandra were perfection!!! The banter between the famous actor and the sassy make-up artist was beyond fantastic! Their quick wit and comebacks were hilarious. Seriously, these two were made for each other.

Joel, oh the ever charming Joel. He was the perfect mix of sexiness, confidence, determined and doing anything in his power to get-the-girl. Honestly though, he did have to work, because the feistiness that Alessandra showed, he had to work 100 times more. So freakin' worth it though, because you know she was going to fall, I mean how could she not???

"But everything was different with her. I wanted to make her banana pancakes in the morning, wash her hair in my shower, and rub her feet after the long days of her standing on set."

Alessandra and Joel, gahhhhh these two, I couldn't get enough! They were so adorable together. Their brand of loco was off-the-charts. And, they were most definitely head-over-heels crazy for each other. Loved how they had theme songs to describe how they were feeling for one another. Seriously, thee cutest.

"'Can’t Help Falling in Love,' Elvis Presley." (Alessandra)

"I've already been there; I never stood a chance. Never even thought to fight it." (Joel)

P.S. The playlist for this book was A+++++ 🙌

Joel and Alessandra meet at a bar, and Joel is instantly infatuated with Alessandra, but she wants nothing to do with the sexy, famous actor. She’s been burned by an actor before, so she won’t give him the time of day. Then, she gets a job as a makeup artist for a movie starring Joel as the lead actor. Alessandra's walls are up, and he’s determined to bull doze those walls down. Joel will do whatever it takes to make Alessandra realize that he’s not the playboy actor he’s made out to be. He wants her, and not just in his bed.

This was my first book by Jessica Florence, and I was very happy with it! It was a very easy read, with no angst, some comical banter between the two MC's, a couple of steamy scenes, and a happily ever after. It was the type of book you just sit back and enjoy the romance without worrying about an emotional roller coaster. I loved the fact that Joel knew what he wanted, and never stopped trying to break down Alessandra’s walls. It was extremely cute that he knew she had a “baggage”, but it never deterred him from making her his.

The only problem I had with this book was the fast paced ending. I felt like it was too rushed, and didn’t really get to feel the break up and make up. It was so quick, it almost felt forced. Like the author felt there needed to be some drama, so it was just thrown in there.

That ending though! That was the cutest, most heart warming ending ever! I loved the music too! I definitely look forward to reading other books by Jessica, I love light hearted, comedy romance!

Can I just start off by saying I love the title to this book. And I love the Taylor Swift song that shares its name and is mentioned in the book.
I liked the first book in this series but I LOVED this book. I absolutely adore Joel and Alessandra. I love how determined Joel is to get Alessandra to be his. No matter how many knock backs, he never gave up. There is just something about him that makes me want to hug him – I don’t know why!
I liked Alessandra; she is a strong independent woman. She is a hard worker and a good mother. Although Alessandra was attracted to Joel, she didn’t want to risk her job or her heart. When Alessandra let her ex’s words get into her head, I wanted to shout at her to ignore him.
I like everything from the sexual tension, the humour and the banter. Joel and Alessandra’s texts had me in stitches of laughter numerous times.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an enjoyable read.

Joel Kline is Hollywood’s hottest actor. Whilst in a bar with his best friend Killian, Joel spots a beautiful woman. Although his attempts to ‘’pull’’ her were shot down, Joel isn’t going to give up. Alessandra isn’t interested in players like Joel. It is soon revealed that Alessandra is Joel’s new make up artist. As the pair spends more time together they soon grow close but will Joel break through Alessandra’s walls? Will Joel get the woman he wants?
