How much responsibility does someone need to take for their actions if they’re mentally ill … especially if they can’t remember them?
If you forgive someone, does that mean that you completely open your life to them? Is there a place for protecting oneself and one’s family, after a perpetrator has been forgiven?
These questions and more are explored as the saga of the Isaiah Cadre continues.
Two men especially grapple with the issues of forgiveness and deliverance. Homelessness and mental illness become part of the equation.
Alyce-Kay hit it out of the park again with Springs of Deliverance. This third book in the series returns the focus to Kelly and Matt. We watch as they continue to struggle with the aftermath of Kelly’s rape. We also get a lot of insight into Nelson, her rapist. As usual, the author does a great job of making us examine things from different angles and takes us on a deep dive into the lives and trials of the characters. She gives us a brief peak into a potential issue arising with another of the characters from the first two books, possibly the focus of the next book? Can’t wait to find out!
I highly recommend this book. It is a clean book, but it deals with some very adult problems and is a far cry from being boring.
This book series is so good! I have read the first three books in 4 days, thats how good they are!
I was so blessed to be introduced to them, and they are opening my eyes to new things about God. I have to reread the Chronicles of Narnia now, for example.
These aren't fluffy perfect Christians in this series. It's dirty and real and sad, which makes the joy all that much more beautiful.
I plan to reread these with my family as a lesson on faith.
Each volume is more impacting than the previous. Read them with an open heart and mind and God will make himself known to you in ways that you may not previously experienced.
