There were a few good reminders, but overall I didn’t learn anything new. The chapters on technology were very outdated, which is to be expected for a book that was written in 2003, a time when Kinko’s still existed and Palm Pilots and pagers were popular. Although I picked up a few pointers here and there, this book didn’t really apply to me. It’s geared more towards a worker in the corporate world.
I was relatively new to the office workforce when I read this, and very new to management, and it was just what I needed. Years later, I still occasionally flip through it for tips. Also, it was my introduction to Ilyce Glink, who became one of my favorite personal finance authors.
