Fourth episode of The Collective. This is part of a series so I would say read episodes 1-3 first. Each episodes have clues to the mystery which you get to solve at the end.
Elias did not disappoint- tattoo artist, rockers, hot f/f, a bit of the supernatural, add in some familiar characters and you have an awesome story. At first I was lost but then realized this story is told by the point of view of the main characters and he was tying in bits and pieces from the previous episodes.
I love the poems at the beginning of each chapter, this book definitely has a bit of Elias in it.
The pieces of this mystery puzzle are starting to fall into place while reading Shadow and Flame and then BAM you are left with more questions then answers. And the ending holy h@ll what was up with that....ugh....slowly dying over here needing answers!
Elias Raven, I can't lie I was very nervous going into this book - not knowing how your style of writing was going to fit into the storyline but let me tell you....YOU OUT DID YOURSELF. I am obsessed....I need to know more....between yourself and the other Authors of The Collective you are slowly torturing me and I am going insane with it. Fabulous job done by all so far....I seriously cannot wait for the next book from you and in the entire series.
In Shadow & Flame we are introduced to new characters as well as learn more about ones from the previous books. I seriously do not want to go into details because the littlest thing could ruin it for you.
If you haven't read any books from The Collective I say grab episode one now and dive in. You won't regret it! If you have read the other books from them and havent gotten Elias' book yet - One-Click it today! You will go on an experience unlike any other.
Elias, I absolutely loved this book and bow down to you. I can't wait for the next book from you so I can get some closure from this killer ending.
***This is the fourth episode in The Collective. It's highly recommended to start this series from the beginning; Unbroken (Riley Edwards), Iron Claw MC (Erin Trejo), Learning to Breathe (Ellie Masters) should be read prior to Shadow & Flame.***
*****A 5 STARS episode leaving you alarmed and turned on all at the same time!!*****
In his contribution to The Collective, Elias Raven brings to light the background of Rihanna. A hard core rocker chick making a name for herself. The unique qualities she possesses could be of great value to the detectives working the case! Tying into the previous installments; Raven creatively incorporates poetic symbolism, STEAMY F/F passion (a first for this reader), and fear/anxiety of the supernatural! Oh, he also brought to the mix some characters from other series you might recognize!!! Each of these episodes has unveiled more clues to the mystery! I'm eager to see what gets revealed next in Quills and Daggers (Chris Genovese)! Grab the episodes currently available and see if you can gather all the clues!
In this episode we learn more about how each character intertwines with each other. So far there seems to be one commonalty and that is the mysterious Mr. Fedora! Rhianna is precogntive and has dreamlike visions of something not human. Rhianna and Laura are the only ones who hear the whistling. Who is Laura and what is she running from and what is her real name? Royston is highly intelligent and can see things that others can not. Reid decides to interview Rhianna at her home about her dreams. Meanwhile while the are in a discussion everyone starts hearing "Ring around the Rosie". Reid opens the front door and no one is there only a boombox. In the kitchen window is hand written Ashes Ashes we all fall down. Once again this author has a way of storytelling that keeps you guessing and wanting more. I highly recommend reading this book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Wow! What can I say? I loved this book from first chapter to the last! Many surprises and turns. Story continues this time with the story of Ri and Misty. This was my first FF book and all I can say is Wow! I was truly blown away! I loved the interaction and banter between the characters as well as seeing more of the mystery unfold. Elias did an awesome job! He is my favorite! You will not be disappointed I promise! I can't wait to see what else happens. This series is like almost watching a series or movie but you have to read from the beginning or else you may get a little lost. I think it would be awesome to see this made into a movie! Bravo to all the authors of The Collective!! xoxo
This is episode 4 of the Collective and once again we're sucked right back into the heart of the story. As I read each book I get more and more clues as to who the killer is. I also loved the multiple points of view used in telling this story. It left me feeling like I knew the characters even better. I can't wait for the next book in this series!!!
5 well deserved stars! I loved this book, and this series just keeps getting better with each installment! In this episode you find out more of how some of the characters tie in with each other. This is full of twists and will absolutely keep you guessing! It is packed full of details that allows the reader to picture the story as it happens. The poetry and pictures at the beginning of each chapter is a wonderful bonus. This is a definite must read and I can hardly wait for the next book.
This story from The Collective was just "okay" for me. There was nothing wrong with the writing. The writing was very good, actually. I just am not a big fan of F/F or band-centered stories. If this is your type of genre, then I think you will very much enjoy the book. It just wasn't my personal cup of tea.
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
This author always amazes me with his musical capabilities. The friendships that are intertwined in this episode are amazing. Love how the real life intermixes with the fantasy of each character. The old traditions mixed with the new, sexy rockstars meet the twisted. Excellent episode and a must read.
This book is amazing! The way Mr. Raven describes his characters and all the things that are happening around them is genius. The sex is hot! The mystery intriguing! All the interaction between the character believable and I loved his use of pictures and poetry for each chapter. I can't wait to see what happens in book 2!
I found this episode in the Collective to not only be confusing, but to feel very separate from the other episodes.
I feel it has some important pieces to the overall season though, so in hoping edits are made I'd suggest this book, if you're wanting to read the entire season
This book is full of twists and turns. When you think you have an answer to something, everything changes. It gives you more clues to what is happening. I can't wait to find out more. What is it with that fedora?
Reading the next in the series. I was not prepared for what was within these pages. The mystery, the intrigue....WOW!!! You will absolutely NOT want to put this book down!! Every character grabbed my attention.
Elias Raven has created some amazing characters and a super creepy one in this story. I love the pictures , poems & quotes between the chapters. They help to add depth and suspense to the story. I can't wait to read part 2.
I can't believe it. The answers are there, so close but so far away!! Freaking amazing story telling that takes you deeper into the story leaving you begging for more.
This is episode four in the Collective Series. This book introduces Rhianna, Misty, Cain, and Abel to the on-going characters that have been introduced in the previous episodes. The book starts out with detailed information on Rhianna’s family history and it goes through until present day. Her personal with Misty is also explained. Then it moves on to her vivid and realistic dreams. And finally, Cain and Abel are introduced to the storyline as well as past characters and they tied together beautifully.
What I loved about this book was re-introducing Cain and Abel from Elias’s previous books. I understood their individual storylines because I had read them previously. These same storylines pertained to Shadow and Flame as well as adding more details and changing the storyline a bit. I also loved the connection that Rhianna and Misty had. For both of them to have had such rocky pasts, the positive and loving connection is a breath of fresh air.
One thought to leave with you….. where is that whistling coming from?
The Collective Series has me glued to my kindle. Elias Raven has written another great episode to this series. The ending of this book had me on the edge of my seat with goose bumps. I can’t wait to see what Elias has in store for his characters.
