Rocky Bluff P.D. is underpaid and understaffed and when two dead bodies turn up, the department is stretched to the limit. The mayor is the first body discovered, the second an older woman whose death is caused in a bizarre manner. Because no one liked the mayor, including his estranged wife and the members of the city council, the suspects suspects are many, but each one has an alibi.
Two murders stretch the resources of the Rocky Bluff P.D. to its limits in Unresolved by F. M. Meredith. In the 13th book in the Rocky Bluff P.D. series, the body of Mayor Leland Asher is found at a construction site, and an elderly resident of the town dies under mysterious circumstances. The investigation is slow going while the list of suspects keep growing.
Frustrations abound within the Rocky Bluff P.D. community as they attempt to solve two murders. Award-winning author Marilyn Meredith, writing as F. M. Meredith, weaves a story where there are tons of questions and not enough answers.
In Unresolved, we meet several new characters alongside many fan favorites. I wonder which ones will play roles in future books. Even though I had some idea how this one would end, the conclusion wound up satisfactory and the last page drops a hint of what the reader may see in the future for some characters.
If you like police procedurals without gory details or sex, then Unresolved is an excellent choice.
This book seemed different in many ways from others written by F. M. Meredith. Not in the substance of the book, but the way it is written. It appears to me that she has really hit her stride with this one. It was an easy read and I read it in three evenings at bedtime. Like the new love interest for the chief of police and hope it develops into something special.Very well written and I enjoyed it tremendously.
The city council is made up of people who don't seem to like each other. Most have motives for murder. Getting good clues turns out to be hard. Luck and dogged police work ultimately saves the day.
Two dead bodies, too many suspects--all with alabis, and the Roky Bluff PD, perpetually underpaid and understaffed, is finding it hard to keep up. Once again, the officers are forced to work together to solve the crimes. Reading each RBPD book is like visiting with old friends. This is another engaging and well-written tale.
