‘Tis one thing to be tempted, another thing to fall. – William Shakespeare
Temptation is a wild dance, a tug of war of will, of faith, testing your limits, stretching your boundaries until you succumb to its wicked spell. Once it’s touched you, tainted you, there’s no turning back. It stays with you, feeding your doubts, nurturing your insecurity.
Love … it can only go so far until it can no longer heal you. When your soul seeks for something darker, an element harder to define, and you find yourself lost, forever searching for that missing piece that promises to complete you, there’s no turning back.
Like a ticking time bomb, I knew sooner or later, everything would begin to crumble.

This book is all shades of black and grey. It's like climbing into a tiny box of misery & closing the lid, only to emerge when you are finished reading the book in a contorted position and the only feeling you are left with is bibliophobia and a mild case of clautrophia.Love is not the magical potion that restrains this couple to celibacy.
The heroine Cara constantly skirts the boundaries of cheating while the hero River is cast in an ambiguous light of neither here nor there. Both characters are unlikable in a series of first chances, second chances, third chances, fourth chances squandered without logical reason as the hero & heroine wonder aimlessly toward a destination that is unknown.
I cannot even understand why these two characters want be together.Maybe the third book will be their lucky charm as the saying goes third time lucky though I have a feeling the writer may create senseless, mindless drama until a 7th or 8th book or one character expires from syphilis.
Some things I took away from the book and what made these characters especially annoying and which made the novel an easy one star:
A Practical Guide to Situational Awareness:
It is important to note that situational awareness — being aware of one's surroundings and identifying potential threats and dangerous situations — is more of a mindset than a hard skill. ... Situational awareness is not only important for recognizing terrorist threats but also potential rape.
Examples:
The hero invites his step sister Willa to live with him.A woman who is obsessed with him and who previously caused chaos between him and the heroine.
Hero in case of 'the pot calling the kettle black':
“Like I said, Cara, if you betray me again, you’re as good as dead to me,” he stated in a hair-raising manner that left me breathless.
“River—”
“You up?” Willa’s chirpy voice filtered in the background. “Oh, my gosh! How many times do I have to walk in on you naked!” she squealed, giggling with enthusiasm.
“I’m on a call. I’ll be out in a bit,” River crassly addressed her. “And for the love of God, woman, stop barging in my bedroom knowing I sleep bare!”
Really. This was just the last thing I needed to hear.
My body shook so badly I actually dropped my phone on the carpeted floor"
PLAYING WITH FIRE: doing something dangerous or risky that could cause lots of problems for you.
The heroine with a co-star who she is physically attracted to and who has given her unintentional orgasms while filming a scene in a movie:
"Would he approve of me spending alone time in Barcelona with another man? I already knew the answer to that. River was territorial, and he’d gut me alive if he ever found out.
He wasn’t the kind of man who tolerated situations that were borderline cheating.
Like this … what I was doing now was prime example.
Even though I knew I wasn’t doing anything wrong, technically, River might see it differently. He would see it differently.
Heroine flirting with her obsessed co-star who is not the hero:
A mischievous smile spread my lips before I stopped dancing and diverted my attention to the bothered man. My skin felt flushed as I coyly looked at him. “Do you find me hot, cariño?”
“You take my breath away, Cara.
“Cara, I want you so much.”
I wanted him, too, but not enough to go all the way.
“This is the farthest we can go,” I panted out. “If you try anything else, I’m going to stop you.”
Aftermath of months of flirting with an obsessed co-star:
I shuddered at his use of endearment. “You raped me, you stupid fuck! You took advantage of me. I couldn’t function last night. I couldn’t even move.
And finally: Sensing danger, situational awareness - who is better at it, men or women?
To begin with, I always love Pamela's books. Her books have amazing plot with brave heroine that I always admire for so when it comes to 2 star for this book... I really have to review this to let Pamela know what I think about this Apologetic second installment.
At first, I really glad to see how River and Cara working hard to trust each other. But as they get to this long distance relationship, River just way out of control of his possesiveness and it doesn't event sexy anymore. I'm incredibly sad to see how Cara could belittle herself in front of River only to keep him by her side. It just way too sad to see my heroine act like this when im book 1, she ditched River in order to save her heart from break into pieces.
I still cherish River and Cara tho, but I hope on third book River could be more reasonable and know the truth about Cara and Juan (I hate his character so much). I also love to see Cara being strong and maybe 'moved on'? To lose both River and her.... It could crush her mind.
I support you in every way, Pamela. Your books still made my day even if this book don't.

The most ridiculously depraved tribute to love possible.
Don't waste your time or money. This is the writer trying to conceive of and put in writing the most grotesquely bizarre, sadistic and singularly vicious sexual relations between a couple who was supposed to be each other's true love, turning something precious and lovely into a mockery. Time and time again is going beyond the depths of the most masochistic and sadistic leanings, and I think the author is taking advantage of her readers to make a few more sales. Yep. Good old greed, unrecognizable romantic fiction, in a collection of pages that's full of hurt, pain, insane jealousy that's way over the top. As I said at the start, no two sane, intelligent young people who truly love each other the way River and Cars did would stoop to repeatedly stupid, deviant behavior.
So.. I got to this book by accident. The theme I was searching for on listopia was reconciled marriages and second chances... It showed me the first volume of this series but BY ACCIDENT I read this second one thanks to the similar title.
LET ME TELL YOU - it's good. Really good. You don't even need to read the first book, it's written so you can start with this one. Which I did. It consumed me. And I loved it. Freaking loved it. There were some parts like describing teeth bizarrely.. but other than that I felt for her. First love is messy. It's just messy. You grew up with someone, lived, and experienced your firsts with that person. Your moral and emotional compass around these people is off or softer... You tend to them. You love them. You want them. Even when they don't want you. You wish to be with them, be the One for them, be the best version of yourself with them. You humiliate yourself and disrespect yourself for them to be happy. You crave them. Want their appreciation. You fucking love them. You're jealous. So much jealous you doubt your sanity. You doubt yourself as a person. Want them only for yourself. Steal all the attention and never share it with anyone else. You feel possessive. You hate them. And they hurt you. They loathe you one minute, love the other, fuck you another one and then they go on a date with someone else the minute you leave. And you just feel like a worthless piece of shit. Struggling.. Hoping that one day you'll finish your chapter together because YOU HATE THIS SO FUCKING MUCH. So yeah, FIRST love sucks.
And if you ever felt this feeling. Had your first who crushed your life, brought you heaven, and left you in hell.. you enjoy this book.
Cara Quinn and River Ellis two young people deeply in love with one another but trust that a couple need to give their selves fully to one another is not there yet. I know that River loves Petal aka Cara and Cara loves River but somehow the stardom that both of them obtained as caused a wedge between the two of them. Cara the actress and River the artist, he writes and sings his music. So much happened when Cara went to Spain to star in a Lombardi film and while Cara is in Spain, all those groupies and women who want River are there to come between Cara and River. This book was one of betrayal, lies and secrets. There is so much drama. I thought the first book was a rollercoaster, but this book was an emotional one for me. I love Pamela Ann and I have been reading her books for years now and I love the way she writes these stories about these young people. This was a great book not just a good book. I would highly recommend this book.
WOW where do i begin with my review of this book. I thought Unapologetic had broke my heart but nope Savage was the winner. It had me on a emotional high. I was mad, sad and happy all in one. Cara and River can't seem to catch a break in there relationship. The love and passion they have for one another is so intense yet it doesn't seem to be enough to keep them together. I need the next part of this sereis to come out like now so I can find out how Cara and River's story ends. If you want a story full of heartbreak, drama and intrigue then pick up a copy. I voluntarily read a copy of this book.
I seriously can not wait for the next book in this series. Talk about edge of your seat. Pamela Ann knows how to throw twist and turns like no other. She knows how to rip your heart out and stomp on it. Talk about a page turner. Cara and River's story is an amazing journey. Fantastic read and I am so looking forward to the next book. The ending to Savage: Unapologetic sets the reader up for the next book. I CAN NOT WAIT for MORE!!!
Loved the book! This is my kind of read, a romance between an up and coming Hollywood actress and a bad boy rocker. Throw in jealousy, past lovers, wannabe lovers, and career demands to create a story I didn't want to put down. I'm ready for more Cara and River!
Please please please don't make me wait for book 3. My heart can't take it!
*review for Amazon*
Book 2 left me beyond emotional. Please please please release book 3 early 💙 5 stars to the moon and back! Gripping, tantalizing, emotionally destroying. I couldn't put this book down.
OMG! How long do I have to wait for the next book! Pamela Ann, I am so glad you are back and apparently your break did well for you! I absolutely loved this book. There is alot of drama, jealously, heartbreak and surprises in this book. AND OMG did I mention the surprises! Love this series!
Again enjoyed the storyline, some quite explicit scenes (wondering where one can get a nice romance story without that these days). I love reading romance novels and enjoyed this book. Wanting to read number 3 soon.
