Still new to Biders Clump Grady Gatlin is working hard to be the best teacher he can for any student who is willing to learn. His gentle, quiet nature makes him popular among the children and parents but a busy schedule and a pile of marking cannot truly fill his heart.
Rebecca Carol is more than surprised to find herself the caretaker of the Biders Clump Boarding House, but is grateful for a chance to get away from the shame of failure and the constant reminder that she was too weak to be a useful vessel for God.
As Rebecca settles into her new life, will the failures of the past follow her or can a handsome young teacher show her that lifes’ trials are only stepping-stones to something more?
Will Grady figure out the mystery behind the young woman who has come to look after his home before he completely loses his heart or will tragedy dash all hope of joy?
Sometimes you have to go to the wrong place to discover where you truly belong.

Another amazing journey to Biders Clump where you never know how faith and love will overcome even the smallest of worries and insecurities.

She had lost faith that she was following God's direction, so came to help run a boarding house while the owners were gone. Little did she know that God never leaves you and that his direction is sometimes a wonderful surprise.

He was the new school teacher, staying at the boarding house and they came to know each other and become friends.. Soon it seems her direction may be more subtle than she could ever image!

A sweet story that warms the heart and reminds you of how we are shown what our strengths are through God's grace! The narrator did a great job and brought the story to life.

The Teacher Takes a Wife

This book is a love story of a Teacher and a lady working at a boarding house where the local school provides him meals and lodgings. Grady is the new teacher at the town's one room school and provides classes and opportunities for all students. The Teacher provides each student with lessons on their own level and supervises lunch and playtime. Then, of course there is record keeping to deal with. Billy, the youngest student, is too young for school, but he does well and enjoys learning.

Grady meets Rebecca early in the school term. She fixes his lunches each day and they work together on household chores--milking then cow, gathering eggs, etc. Billy likes to walk to the boarding house to visit with Miss Rebecca and get a treat.

Who will win the heart of the beautiful lady? Will one of her suitors be disappointed? Read this book to find out.

A Teaching Touch has been on my Kindle for a while, and now I wish I’d read the story sooner. A powerful story about two people who are strong individuals, yet struggle with self-doubt and past issues that threaten to cripple them. I felt badly for Rebecca’s who received constant criticism from family and was glad to see her get away from them for a new start. She was able to find her gifts and usefulness in unexpected ways, and I loved watching her come into her own. Sometimes it’s too easy to think “mundane” gifts aren’t worthy which is far from the truth. Grady is a wonderful hero, and his wisdom in working with the kids brought to mind a couple of teachers in my own history who made a difference. His joy at teaching is obvious, and his heart for others as wide as the outdoors. Both characters and the lessons learned stayed with me long after I turned the last page. Highly recommended.

Rebecca and Grady 💞

Sweet story of a former missionary seeking refuge out west. She "failed" her missionary dream and her mother had a lot to say about it. Rebecca replied to an ad for a housekeeper job in Biders Clump, placed by non other than Polly. Rebecca has zero self esteem, so when others praise her, she feels flustered and confused.

Grady is a teacher that came from Florida and is staying at the boarding house to save the school district money. While Polly and George go away for a few weeks to visit their family, Sara and Rafe stay at the house as chaperones for Rebecca and Grady.

Enjoyable and very sweet story, although several typos this time, compared to only one or two in previous books.

Little Billy stole the show in this story. What a cutie pie!

This was a sweet romance and an inspirational story. Both Rebecca and Grady were plagued by their past, but Grady had come further spiritually than Rebecca. Being the teacher he was he was there to help her understand what God had to say about her situation. Billy was a delightful and humorous little boy and lent some lightness to the story. A delightful book!

The narration was a bit hard to follow as voices for several of the characters were so similar that at times it was difficult to know who was speaking. But the basic story was well-read.

I received this audio book from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

A Teaching Touch

Rebecca or Becky came to town to assist a housekeeper at the boardinghouse. Mr. Grady was the town school teacher and he lived at the boardinghouse. Little four and one half year old Billy came to school along with his older siblings. He thinks girls have cooties but he thinks he's going to marry up with Ms. Rebecca. You'll have some chuckles and there will be some trying times before the ending. You will enjoy this read.

Rebecca comes from the east to oversee the boarding house while Polly and George were in Montana. Grady the school teacher was surprised how young she was. He helped Rebecca see that God’s has a place and plan for her. In Panama she thought it was were she ought to be, that there is a difference, Enjoying the conversations on books, teaching and laughter as they spent time together. Nice enjoyable story of following your heart, and where God leds you and finding love and a home.

A Charming Story

Rebecca Carol comes to Biders Clump to help a the boarding house. Grady Gatlin is the local school teacher. Grady teaches Rebecca that once you have faith that is enough and God has a purpose for your life. I thoroughly enjoyed this story by Danni Roan. Little Billy Stanley was such a charmer, and brought a smile to my face.

Grace is enough.

A good read sharing community, family and God's grace freely given. The author takes us on Rebecca's journey to try to work enough and well enough for God. Along the way we meet delightful characters such as ambitious 4 year old Billy and the wise and kindly teacher Grady.

A Teaching Touch

I enjoyed this sweet story of young lady wanting to serve God but confused on how to. Thinking she was a failure. A male teacher befriends her and helps her learn God's ways are not our ways.

The teachers youngest student fell for the new housekeeper

She came to the boarding house for a job, and I like the way the story brought the teacher and her together and didn't hurt his young students feelings.

Beautiful book

This is my first book in this series. Not my first by Danni. I loved the connection that each person made in the town. My favorite part is when Becky agreed to let Billy court her. she is such a good person. A beautiful written clean romance. My favorite kind.

A cute story of needing change and finding love. A quick, clean read or listen. I listened to the audio version of this book and enjoyed it. It was light. I didn't realize it was the fourth in a series when I started it, but I don't feel as if I missed a lot.

In His Service

The boarding house ran by Polly and George appears to be the heart of Biders Clump. Their friendliness and warm hospitality are good examples of a Christian. Rebecca struggles with being unable to continue missionary work in Panama.
