A nice summary for those who need to freshen up the family chronology. I wouldn't advise it as a first read since it briefly skims from one person to another.

A beautifully illustrated view of Renaissance Italy through the lives of the Medicis. I am still struck by the incredible gift of the last Medici, Anna Maria Luisa, who bequeathed the Medici art treasures to the people of Florence.
