I am grateful to have won a copy of this book through a Goodreads Giveaway. I am donating it to the library where I work as an addition to our collection now that I have finished reading the story.

This picture book is beautifully illustrated and presents an even more beautiful message: miracles are everywhere and sometimes if you look too hard, you won't appreciate the ones all around you. The book is a very quick read and the rhymes on each page are predictable. This predictability is useful to a young audience, but is a bit tedious for a parent reader. All in all, an excellent book!

Hello, everyone! Our book today is Miracle, written by Chanavia Haddock and illustrated by Liz Amini-Holmes, a sweet little story about the simple wonders all around us.

In rhyming text, a curious little girl named Piper Rose is searching for a miracle. She wonders aloud where the miracle can be found, wandering through a crisp, snow-covered landscape. She searches high and low, but can’t seem to see any miracles. But if she (and the reader) look close enough at the little details of the things surrounding her, Piper Rose may find that there are miracles in each tree, star, and bright sunbeam. In fact, miracles don’t need to be big or important; sometimes, it’s the simple beauty of nature that is truly miraculous.

This was a short and simple book, but it had a great, timeless message: appreciate the little things. The real fun is in the illustrations, where the word “miracle” is hidden within the art on every page: in the bark of a tree, a snowbank, etc. It’s a fun touch, and supports the book’s lesson that miracles are hidden all around us. The length is good, short enough for even the very smallest of bookworms, and JJ enjoyed it fine. A nice book to encourage appreciation of simple blessings, and it’s Baby Bookworm approved!
