When you lay your head on your pillow at night, do you feel that you never get enough done? Or worse, do you feel that YOU aren’t enough? The outside stressors of life can cause fear, anxiety, and worry. It’s easy to feel discouraged. If religion has caused you to have a distorted view of God, one of an authoritative figure who is up there out there, judging you and displeased with you, then you’ll add guilt, shame, condemnation, and unworthiness to that internal chatter.
Let go of those disempowering thoughts and reclaim who and Whose you are. You are more than enough. You are the Beloved, in whom God is well pleased. These God Notes are daily doses of divine encouragement, your prescription to remember who and Whose you are so that you can live your life with joy, peace, and confidence.
Editorial Reviews
“This is not another religious book filled with tired phrases about an angry, disapproving God. It is a book about a grace so powerful that it threatens to overwhelm you. As you read God Notes, you will be convinced of one all-important you are loved. What else is there?” —Jeff Goins, bestselling author of The Art of Work
"Bearing the hallmark of authentic inspiration, God Notes not only depicts the author’s experience but more importantly provides a portal through which the reader may experience the Divine as well. Fashioned to be a source of daily nurture, one can easily be drawn to read chapters in one sitting. As we let these words touch us, we notice that our breathing slows, our hearts smile and our spirits glow with ancient truth. Like a treasured hymn, we find ourselves humming along knowing once again that God loves and delights in us intimately each day of our lives. Thank you, Jackie, for sharing this gift with us!" —Clarence Heller, spiritual director, retreat leader and author of Everyday Meditations and Paintings to Inspire Reflection and Prayer.
Even the introduction of this book is inspiring. I enjoyed learning about the author’s awakening, so-to-speak, and her awareness of God’s nudges in her quiet times. I too, feel more attune to God in my time of meditation, prayer, and stillness.
God Notes is inspirational and motivational, serving as a simple, yet precious devotional. During our busiest days, we often overlook what is most important—quiet time with our Creator. This book gives us a nudge to focus on one word a day that ultimately brings us closer to God and leads us toward our purpose.
I really enjoy the daily words and passages, written as love notes that God has given us. It takes only a few short minutes to read each devotion, yet the meanings and motivations stay with me throughout the day.

"God Notes: Daily Doses of Divine Encouragement" by Jackie Trottmann is written out in the form of love notes from God resulting in 365 insightful messages. There are no Bible verses and no prayers that are written out for you to pray. These messages really spoke to me, because they are about God reassuring that He loves us as we are and that we are never really alone.
I did have one small concern while reading this book, the author keeps saying that God doesn't judge us and I think He does if we don't turn from our sins and repent. I don't know but maybe she is talking about after we have been forgiven and she is talking about past sins.
This book is a great tool to use when you are feeling like you are worthless and alone and just need to be reminded that you are loved by God!
I don't know enough about meditation to say anything on this subject but I will say if we are meditation on God's word and His love for us, how can we go wrong.
I have a copy on my iPad and have bookmarked many pages to reread and reread again when I doubt my worth and start to think I am unloved.
These messages would be a great way to start the day and end the night.
I was given a complimentary copy by CWA. These opinions are my own.
Distilling Biblical and theological elements into affirmations is a tough...and arguably audacious task. The author takes on that task and does a decent job of it. Reading a few of these a day may prove to be more accessible than a Bible verse - though shouldn’t be viewed as a replacement for it. Worth considering as a daily devotional.
Although these are very inspirational words of positivity, and very motivating; But they are Not from God! She did a wonderful compilation of words taken from Bible and her own ideas, I give her 4 stars for that!
