*WARNING* contains explicit adult love scenes and cursing Barret is a panther in the Red Havoc Crew. Barret knows he's broken and knows his alpha will have to end him one of these days. Barret also says he hates everyone, but he tries to look it for their crazy cat member, Lynn. Eden was called from Damon's Mountains by her friend Lynn. Eden is a falcon shifter and is always on guard, but when her friend needed help, she went. Eden has to find a way to help Lynn, but that big dominate panther kept pulling her attention. Eden knows there is something to this thing pull to Barret, but she is here for her old friend, Lynn. In this one, love is not always a good thing. I like that a mating turned bad (Brody & Lynn), proving nothing is perfect. An albino falcon is a new and unusual animal, I like a change thrown in. This story is a little different with the broken mate bond thing and I think that's why I enjoyed so much.
I just love broken shifters so damn much. They just make me feel all the feels and it makes them finding their happy even more special. I loved Barrett, he was such a funny horn ball 😂 and his back story was so sad.
"I'm Barrett, and I'm not made for a maybe, so don't even f*ckin' fall in love with me."
"I'm Murder Kitty, not Rescue Kitty."
"I like you," he murmured. "You make me want to not kill things."
"He thought he was a broken monster, but to Eden, he had been broken into the perfect shape to for her."
Damn Alpha! Murder kitty has a little place in my heart! I love that Beaston is such a huge character. This far in the series and he still owns the place lol. Can't wait to see what you come up with next. Never a dull story or moment. I laughed a lot, as I often do. TS Joyce is number 1 on my favorite author list. Amazing, fabulous, are understatements!! Alpha, you are amazing!
T.S. Joyce's books just keep getting better all the time!!! Red Havoc Bad Car will completely tear your heart apart, have you sniffling with tears in your eyes as you learn "Murder Kitty's background and his mate brings Joyce fans back to friends dear to our hearts. Eden not only helps heal his heart but also brings another missing C Team puzzle piece to Red Havoc making them a stronger crew. This couple will steal your heart in a hurry!!! This book was just perfect from start to finish and the crew of cats is the perfect counterpoint to the inhabitants we all already love from Damon's Mountains!! As always I am already anxiously awaiting the next book...lol
I liked this one but I wasn't that in love with it.
I felt like she betrayed him by lying about what she was and I think that is a bit crappy. He was hoodwinked into it and although she never confirmed she wasn't something she didn't confirm what she was either.
This book was sweet and super awesome. I enjoyed reading every minute of it and I'm so glad they got their happy ending. Cant wait to see what happens nexr
Barret Turgard is in a desperate battle to keep his broken panther steady. Not much that he needs, just a routine the same thing to keep his cat sane, if anything different were to happen his cat would go in to a tailspin and he would not recover. Eden Brown is in his Mountains to help a friend, but the panthers do not allow trespassers. Barret is dangerous and he is hunting her, yet Eden is not afraid of him at all. The closer she gets to him the more she believes that he could be the one to change her destiny, her future. Barret thinks he’s the monster, but Eden knows the truth. It’s her inner flight shifter that could bring chaos to the mountains, and war to the Red Havoc Crew. Another great story well writen and on the way of becoming one of my favorite book by T.S Joyce
Red Havoc Bad Cat by T.S Joyce was a quick and funny read.
Eden is a rare falcon shifter from Damon's mountains, who comes to the Red Havoc crew to help her best friend Lynn. While there she runs into Barrett. He is damaged from things he witnessed as a cub. Their chemistry is undeniable but he tries to push her away because he knows he will never be good enough.
But what happens when he finds out Eden is a falcon? Will he be able to move past what happened to him??
Barrett isn't one of my favorites, he's such an ass, but when he was telling the Red Havoc what happened to him as a kid my heart broke for me. It was easy to see why Eden kept her animal a secret, too scared that she was going to loose him. I loved how everyone from the crew was there for Barrett, giving him the support and a safe place to tell his story and how minutes later they were all giving each other shit. That sounds about right for family.
Another incredible Red Havok Couple! This book has a lot of history to connect, mainly through the Grayback series, where we learned more about the Falcons. We also get a glimpse of Kellan and Skyler, who are Eden's parents. And of course, everybody's favorite bear, Beaston. <3
It seems most of the books in this series are building up to the final story with Lynn. We have most of Lynn's history when we read Blackwing Defender (Kane's Mountain #1), but it was through the eyes of Winter, who was originally planning to be a member of Red Havok. In this book, we learn that Lynn actually grew up on Damon's Mountain, and was besties with Eden (Grayback child). Lynn is close to being put down by Red Havok Alpha, Ben. Her animal is warring with her human form due to a broken mate bond and Eden has come in a last-ditch effort to try and save her friend.
As you can see this is more about Lynn, however, we find out that Murder Kitty a.k.a. Barret, has a very traumatic history with the Falcons. Even though Eden has been in hiding from her grandfather and the other Falcons, her inner Falcon will be a tough sell for Barret. She is aware of this and keeps her animal a secret (girl, that is ALWAYS gonna backfire!).
I did not love the culmination of the story when Barret listens to crazy Lynn but we will give him a pass for not thinking straight at the time. When all of Red Havok surround and support Barret while he shares his history, it was one of the sweetest Red Havok moments so far. And OMG hearing Barret tell the story of Bentley giving him the bean...awe! It was just a silly moment in Book #2 and made Barret seem a bit manic/ crazy, but awe man, it meant everything to him! LOVED THAT!
I wasn’t planning on reviewing these books at all, but given the fact that I’ve been completely OBSESSED with them for the past month, it feels wrong not to write somthing. So in the end I decided to write a general series-wide review that I’ll put up on each book—that’s right, all 48—because that’s how much fun I’ve had reading these.
OKAY listen. These books are straight up trash. They are. Romance drama trash to the max. But there’s no denying how freaking entertaining these things are. They’re hilariously funny, extremely cute, filled with action (some more than others), and packed with grade-A soap opera drama. Some of the novels are better than others, but if you need to go brainless for a while and just read something fun, these are the books you need.
All the characters are out-of-this world awesome, but the real thing that sets this series apart is the world building. Joyce has created such an elaborately rich universe with all these characters and I am 100% here for it. I love love love how everything overlaps and that we get to see all of our favorite characters even long after their books are done.
To help keep everyone straight, I even created a family tree spreadsheet like a NERD (Willa would be so proud) which you can view here. Just beware of spoilers.
FINAL WORD
These books are insane trash and I’ve loved every second. If you’re needing some laughs and romance, look no farther my friends. It’s worth the Amazon Kindle Unlimited free trial just to get your hands on these.
It was ok. Here is a highlight from the book. “Me!” Barret said. “Don’t judge me, She-Devil. I love burritos, so why don’t you bite me?” “I bite you like every day.” Annalise gave him a beaming, unapologetic smile. “You’re all gristle. It’s why I spit you back out.” She took a bite of the burrito and arched her eyebrows at him like she’d won. “I hate all of you,” Barret muttered. “Except Eden. She’s cool.” Eden snorted and wrapped her arms around his taut waist. “You like me.” “No,” he said, turning toward her and hooking a finger under her chin so she had to look up at him. “I L-O-V-E you.” Eden smiled so big her face hurt. That’s how she thought of their story, too. Barret had reached the E, just like she had. He kissed her once more, then swatted her ass and jogged up the first couple of stairs. On the third, he paused and turned to her. “You gonna stay with me?” There was a bigger question in that than just her following him up into the tree house. With a sappy grin, she said, “Always.” His answering smile nearly stole her breath away. “Good.” And then he turned and made his way up the stairs toward his crew. No…their crew. She was a part of this crazy C-Team of misfit shifters now, too. What a dangerous, chaotic life she’d found, but what a beautiful one it was, too.
Eden and Barret story is adorable. Both broken shifters were able to overcome obstacles to be with each other. Eden was in Red Havoc territory trying to help fix her best friend Lynn so her heart wasn't broken anymore. She was currently looking empty after what her mate had done to her. Barret was the one who brought the one they call crazy Lynn her food. She was a mess since her mate left her. As Barret was bring Lynn food he smelled something unusual a shift he did not recognize he knew it was a bird because he found the white feather. He made it a messing to find the bird and hunt it because it panther liked to hunt and the bird didn't have permission to be on the Red Havoc land. After unexpectedly running into the mystery girl in the grocery store and then again when he went to check on Lynn he seen her walk up to the tree house he was there sitting with his shotgun ready to shoot her. But then the unexpected happened when she heard Barret arguing with the panther inside him and she came down to see if he was okay. They talked for a bit but he left her standing there after he said Lynn couldn't be saved. Eden couldn't take that so she marched her butt down to Barret garage to get his help, they connected in ways that they never would of expected.
Barret and Eden's Story. The traumas of yesterday play a major role in how we live our lives today. Lynn, a panther shifter, retreated from the world after suffering terrible physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her Mate. Her best friend Eden, a lonely falcon shifter, arrives in Red Havoc territory to help her recover. Barret, also a damaged panther shifter, wants to chase Eden away, but he finds himself attracted to her instead. Can Barret and Eden find love once Barret realizes that Eden is connected to the falcons that destroyed his family?
This book is an intense story of survival after all is lost. Feelings of loss, grief and recovery interspersed with love and joy are always with us. T. S. Joyce tackles these difficult emotions fearlessly and compassionately with just the right amount of romance and fun thrown in. It isn't always pretty, but then life rarely is. This is a story that left me feeling hopeful and satisfied. I highly recommend reading this book today.
This is the third book in this spin off series. This book was a little sad. Once again, we get a look at Lynn who makes an appearance in Kane’s Mountains series. Lynn has called her friend Eden to come to her and Eden does. But, things aren’t that easy. This book focuses on Barret and Lynn’s friend, Eden. Something horrible happened in Barret’s past and he tries not to think about it. Meeting Eden makes him think about things he doesn’t want to. Eden has a secret all her own and she is scared to tell Barret about what kind of flight shifter she is. So, when he guesses wrong she just doesn’t correct him. This book had my laughing and near tears at different times. I felt for everyone in this book. What Lynn is going through and then what happens between Eden and Barret. Which each new person the crew grows and becomes stronger. I can’t say enough about the book though. I highly recommend this book and all of T.S. Joyce’s books. Every book I read makes me super eager to read the next one. I can’t get enough of them. I have no idea what I am going to do when I reach the end.
This story has a grumpy MMC with lots of trauma. The MFC has been raised around a lot of people with trauma so she knows how to deal with it. There is lots of good banter and the usual amount of light heartedness running through this author's work.
But I was also noticing the generational trauma that often goes undistinguished is noticeable here. The MFC’s species of shifter is especially terrible to females and has been for many generations so she has had to stay hidden for most of her life. He has trauma handed down by his dad as well as his own sadness. There is this idea of being broken,
“Because no woman, no matter how much they irritated him, deserved the attention of a monster like him.”
It's a story of healing both these kinds of pain by loving and accepting each other.
The whole RL world seems to be collapsing under generational trauma. I don't care how far out or pie-in-the-sky romances seem - they are critical to reminding us that things can be better. A lot better.
Loved it as always, but I did have one huge issue that made me really it like Eve. Spoilers: No way should she have bitten him and taken him as mate without revealing what she was. I am sorry, but I lost all respect for her. She strikes me as very selfish. She didn't even pause before claiming him with a bite while carrying a secret that would destroy him. On top of that, not once did it cross her mind to run back to her crew to protect him and the Panther crew. Selfish. I fact, I was hoping the book would go there. She runs home to protect him and his crew from her big secret and him and maybe some others go after her and we get to see some of the old crew. This series has crossovers, but we don't ever get to see much of our beloved Daemon Mountain crew that we all love that started these series. Anyway, I almost took off two stars for Ever total selfishness and complete lack of concern for him and her crew.
Ashe crew flight shifter Eden Brown journeys to the Appalachians to comfort her friend, Lynn, through a broken mate bond. The crew isn’t officially aware Eden’s in their territory though broken panther Barret Turgard kinda does. After a chance meet with Eden uncovers memories Barret would rather not explore.
Though Lynn isn’t the lead character in this outing she is central and the most sympathetic to the read (though having a second Brody was confusing) as theoretically, Eden and Barret are banding together to stop her spiral. While Eden’s from the Ashe crew this seems to be her first appearance and Barret reads juvenile to bland to incoherent and back.
Unfortunately, this outing missed the mark to my taste. and either this reader wasn’t in the mood for an insta-love read or I came in the middle of the outing as things went quicker than insta-love with no space to invest in either lead though pieces of their horrors unknowingly crossed. Rating: 3.25stars

I always enjoy a T S Joyce shifter book and read them as they are published. I do however agree with a previous review complaining that the co characters are not involved enough. Apart from a few mumbles from Lynn, I was over 20% into this book before another character appeared. There was barely any involvement from the other crew members apart from on 2 occasions involving fighting. In the Damons Mountain's series the crew characters interacted with hilarious dialogue all the time, so you felt that you were getting to know the characters as the series progressed. Unfortunately this series had failed to do this. Even the characters that have already paired up, I'm struggling to remember their story as I'm reading the next one as they are barely mentioned. Please bring back the old magic T S Joyce before this series really disappoints.
T.S. Joyce has shown us another shifter in the form of a black panther, rude, daring, and sexy as hell named Barret Turgard. He belongs to the Red Havoc Crew and takes killing seriously. He doesn’t think he has the capacity to love and take care of a partner. Little did he know that the broken panther, Lynn, that he vowed to help, has another helper on the way. In the form of a beautiful female hiding her shifter background, Eden Brown appears at Lynn’s door closely following Barret’s departure. Eden grew up with Lynn and vows to cure Lynn of her broken heart. Lynn is no help in the love category. She repeatedly tells Barret and Lynn to never fall in love. Love will only destroy. Barret has this fixed in his mind when he runs into Eden. Eden is in this part of the forest to help her friend and swears she won’t get distracted by the muscle-rippling Barret who confronts her. Barret loves every part of Eden, but tells her to stay away and go home. Even if Barret and Eden find a sexual connection, and it’s steamy, Eden doesn’t think Barret cold ever accept her if he finds out what kind of shifter she represents. She may be right. It’s a heart tugging and fierce battle between “love and leave” as secrets are exposed, but don’t give up on the heart and flip the pages late into the evening! Happy reading, Dawn
Red Havoc Bad Cat is the third book in this series. Silly names for the books but the stories are all easy reads with little stress and happy endings. Plus all the characters are either friends or family and are connected so you get to catch up with your favorites.
Barrett was broken as the result a traumatic life altering experience when he was a child. Although he had built thick walls to protect himself from ever allowing anyone to know he cared, he was really tenderhearted and vulnerable.
Eden was okay and I liked her well enough. However I wasn’t a fan of her keeping the secret. Once I learned about Barrett’s past, I was really annoyed that she didn’t say anything. The way it was revealed worked for the story, but I felt Barrett deserved more. His story was sad and it pulled at my heart.
This is a great KU library read and standalone addition to the Red Havoc Panthers series. It's been fun to see the children of some of the couples from previous series all grown up and featuring in their own books. In this book, bad kitty aka murder kitty, has been helping care for Lynn, a panther with a broken mating bond after the betrayal and death of her mate. She calls Eden, a childhood friend from the Greyback Crew, for help and Eden responds. When Barrett finds a white feather near Lynn's tree house, he thinks he's hunting a snowy owl shifter. But Eden isn't an owl. What she is is much more dangerous. Possibly even more dangerous than a broken, murderous panther shifter.
Barret is struggling with his past and it makes his panther a blood thirsty monster. Eden is very rare, but that makes it so she is isolated and cautious at all times. While helping a friend, Eden is put into Barret's sites. Will Eden be able to calm his panther? Will Barret be able to accept Eden despite what she is?
Loved this book! Loved learning that there was more to Barret other than his murderous attitude he carried at all times. Was really excited to read about Eden after reading her parents book and so excited that she turned out with a mix of her parents personalities! Barret really surprised me in some points with how he was determined and yet skittish when it came to Eden. Great book!

Yes absolutely loved this story. Eden Brown, daughter to Kellan and Skylar Brown of the Ashe Crew from Damon's Mountain has come to Red Havoc to help her friend Lynn but she will find so much more with the Murder Kitty Barret. This story will make you laugh, cry and put you on the edge of your seat. Barret has a horrible history with Falcon Shifters, but his step mom who was a Falcon shifter who helped save his father and love Barret like he was her own. Still he is dislikes all Falcon Shifters, Eden is a Falcon Shifter. Can Eden break though Barret's shadow and show him love? Can Eden break out of her safe world and have some fun? Well you have to read Red Havoc Bad Cat to find out. Happy Reading!!!
There are many moments in this one that make me chuckle. There are also many that make me sad for some of these characters. I like how when they meet. Barrett calls her Mystery Girl instead of Eden. Along with calling his panther “murder kitty”. Such ridiculous names but that is Barrett. I have liked him from the beginning and he is only getting better with each book and page that goes by. I can almost hear him saying his words-in my head-it’s crazy! Anyway I can see and feel the devastation that Barrett bring to the story. Then to find out why? I can’t imagine! When Eden and Jaxon have dinner with the crew and all heck breaks loose. There are good times in there as well as sad times. Another great addition to this series!
