Baby, I’m Howling for You is book one in the Alphaville series by Christine Warren. I first read Christine’s Gargoyle series so I was so excited to read this brand new series. Alphaville, or Alpha, Washington, is a small town in the Pacific Northwest, where shifters go that are alone, damaged, or just different. It’s a place where they can go where they know they will be accepted, no questions asked, and find a pack amongst the towns people, a mixture of all different shifters who come together to form a close knit community.
Alpha is where Renny Landry was trying to make it to when her car ran out of gas. Renny was on the run, had been for months, from a man who wanted her, Geoffrey Hilliard, and who wouldn’t stop until he had her. He and his pack of minions, all coyote shifters, found her wherever she tried to hide and her last hope was to find refuge in Alpha. Renny is a beautiful red wolf shifter.
Let me warn you that this book starts out right from the first page action packed. Don’t think you will start the book and read a few pages and then put it down. You will not be walking away.
Renny’s attempt to get away from her pursuers takes her right into the yard of the reclusive Mick Fischer. She is injured and certain to be caught when Mick rescues her. Mick escaped to Alpha eight years ago when his mate was killed. Mick’s animal is a wolf. As soon as he carried Renny into his house, Mick’s wolf was awake and prowling. He recognized that Renny was their mate. But this is impossible. Wolves didn’t mate a second time. It was a one time thing for wolf shifters. Wolves rarely survived when they lost their mates and he couldn’t figure out why he was even still alive. Maybe this is why, because Renny was also his mate. The mate he lost was his past, but Renny was now his future.
This book was amazing. It was fast paced as Mick, Renny, and the authorities of Alpha come together to try to take down the pack of coyotes. The chemistry between Mick and Renny was sizzling hot. When two wolves are newly mated, they go through a sort of honeymoon phase and believe me, these two made every use of their time together. But the threat of Renny’s stalker was still hanging over their heads. Everyone in the town was at risk until they could be caught.
I love this little town. It is such an adorable, eclectic mix of residents and they all come together when one of their own is in need, as they did for Renny. There are so many wonderful secondary characters in this book that I look forward to hearing more about. The next book in the series is called Your Lion Eyes and I can’t wait.

Baby, I’m Howling For You by Christine Warren is the first full length novel in the Alphaville series. There is a prequel novella that opened up the series that came before this book but it’s not really necessary to have read that to enjoy this installment of the series. The novella simply introduced readers to the town of Alphaville where shifters have set up a safe haven for all types of shifters to come and live in harmony. The main characters are different between the books though so that each have a new couple of shifters that find they are mates.
In this book Renny Landry is on the run from a stalker that has sent a group to capture her and puts all her faith that she will find Alphaville and it will offer her safety. As she runs from her pursuers she finds a cabin outside of the town that is occupied by Mick Fischer just in time for Mick to save Renny from the attackers. Renny soon finds herself surrounded by the good citizens of Alphaville who are determined to help protect her from her stalker as she and Mick also find that they are fated to be mates.
Christine Warren certainly made Baby, I’m Howling For You a entertaining read by throwing in a bit of danger into this romantic fantasy read. There was always something happening in the story from the bad guys attacks to the steamy moments that come from a newly mated shifter couple. Renny and Mick were great main characters that I liked along with the other shifters in the town helping them along. I completely enjoyed this addition to the series and look forward to seeing more of the residents from Alphaville in the future installments of the series.

I liked it, it was enjoyable but it had it fluctuated in keeping my attention. Renny, is on the run from a crazy coyote and his pack.
Traumatized, stalked and attempt rape (more than once) does make for the right mind space to fall for an uber alpha, controlling wolf.

When I first noticed this book on NetGalley I skipped right past it due to the dreadful corny title but then I noticed all the reviews were 4 and 5* so I decided to give it a try.
I really should have stuck with my first impression. I don’t know if it was me or the book but it just didn’t work for me, it dragged and took me days and days to read in fact I ended up skimming just to get to the end.
I didn’t particularly like the writing style and there wasn’t enough story to fill the pages.
Basically Renny is on the run from a dangerous stalker and she’s heading to Alpha, a safe place for shifters where she meets her mate, settles into town and her stalker arrives you know how it goes from here.

I picked up Baby, I am Howling for You by Christine Warren after reading Carrie @ Carrie's Book Reviews review of the prequel novella for this series! Once that I saw that Carrie gave a fantastic rating for a novella I knew this series was worth checking out! This novel grabbed my attention from the start! I have not read much werewolf/shifter novels but after reading this one, I am definitely reading more! I also will be following this series and wanting to get my hands on the novella as well!😍 The characters in this story were great! I loved Renny and her strength. I found the characters relatable. This story was filled with action, adventure, suspense and some steaminess that will definitely heat you up this winter!

So you either love a book or you don't but I was really bummed that this book didn't instantly pull me in as much as I wanted it to. Shifter and PNR books usually rate high for me because of the fantasy the author weaves into the story. It's romance with a heavy dose of magic and it has more freedom to be OTT and dramatic.
The reason I didn't rate this higher is that it hit on one of my ultimate pet peeves in romance. The dead wife trope. In shifter romances it's especially tricky because the big draw for me is the true/forever mate concept. I love reading about alphas that find their one true love and basically live to protect and care for their other halves. It kind of weakens it's appeal if the one true mate is no longer the "one" because now you can have more than one?!
In Baby, I'm Howling For You we're told countless times, how important mates are, how instant the connection is and ultimately how there's only one mate out there for you. Well, our H, Mick has loved (100% no reservations LOVED) his first mate, Beth. She ends up dying and eight years later has closed himself off from everyone and everything. He is very much in love with his dead wife still and it's almost painful to watch how he constantly pushes Renny away every time he feels himself drawn to her.
And the awkwardness doesn't stop there. No, Renny also happens to strongly resemble his dead wife, while she's in wolf form. When he first catches a whiff of Renny, even her smell reminds him of Beth. It's like, at every turn, Renny played second fiddle to Beth. But what put that last nail in this coffin was the mate mark.

During the most intimate moment between two mated shifters and even then Renny has to share the moment with the ghost of his 1st mate! I just couldn't do it anymore. Yes, towards the very end, Mick finally admits that his connection to Renny is stronger than what he felt for Beth but by than it was a little too late for me. I've said it before, H+h+ghost does not a good romance make. I don't do love triangles, even if one part of this equation is spectral in nature.
I liked Renny, she wasn't a doormat, she had self respect and wasn't a sniffling martyr but I wish she wasn't so accepting of Mick and his hot/cold attitude towards her. She was a better person than me because there is no way I'd be okay with sharing my man with a ghost or so easily forgiving him his crap behavior towards her. It plain ol' sucked that Renny's first (and probably only) mate treated her like crap rather than cherishing her like he was supposed too. Renny made way to many concessions for Mick and Mick never convinced me that he chose Renny. It was all too convenient for him. I mean, at one point, he actually felt shame for having feelings for Renny because he felt it was a betrayal of Beth!
Memorable Moments:
There is a lot of action and suspense with the danger that follows Renny to Alphaville and sort of saved the story for me. I also really liked the secondary characters, especially the brother sister duo that is Molly and Zeke.
Would I recommend? I guess for fans of Christine Warren this will be a hit and for others who don't share the same triggers as me. For the safety gang though, it might be a pass.

His fingers traced the dainty curve, then without thinking moved to the opposite side of his neck where another mark had once decorated his flesh. I liked it...well, sorta, kinda, nearly liked it...
I really liked the storyline and thought the characters were interesting. My biggest problem with Baby, I'm Howling For You was that it was too long and overly descriptive. I didn't see anything new in this paranormal romance and waited unsuccessfully for it to suck me in. Unfortunately, it was overly descriptive and each plot point, conversation and sex scene lost me halfway through it. I'm reading about how he wants to kill her stalker and by the end of the paragraph, I've planned what I'm having for dinner.
I even skimmed the sex scenes...THE HORROR!! Sure, I know they're newly mated and they can't control themselves, but it was the same sex over and over and over again. I didn't feel like the couple progressed past their initial lust. Their "love" was more a tick in the box of what a mated couple is supposed to feel.
Like I said, the characters and the storyline were interesting and I did finish the story. I loved the people of Alphaville and what they stood for. Meeting Molly, Zeke and Jaeger kept me coming back for more and in some ways, their "scenes" was the highlight for me. It's just not my favourite style of writing. I have a friend who is horrified that I mostly read stories that take a day to read. He loves the overly descriptive ones that take days or even weeks to read and is CONVINCED I'm missing out. Renny is trying desperately to reach the town of Alpha, Washington before her pursuers reach her. Alphaville is a shifter community that takes in all kinds of lone shifters and they look out for each other. With a crazy coyote stalker and his enforcers chasing her for months and running her out of every town she settles at, she needs a safe place to go.
When Renny's car runs out of gas she has no choice but to shift and run towards Alphaville, just as she reaches the outskirts, the enforcers catch up with her. Mick hears the commotion outside his house and investigates only to see an injured wolf and a coyote about to attack. Mick soon learns that Renny is his mate and calls up the help of the sheriff and Mayor to try and run down these enforcers and keep her safe.
I made the mistake of starting this story at my lunch break and it started out with the chase. I was pretty hooked and didn't want to stop to go back to work. The story kept at a pretty fast pace since the whole book is about Renny's stalker and enforcers trying to kidnap her. The whole town of Alphaville step up to try and keep her safe.
I can't say that I would fawn all over the main characters but I did enjoy the interactions of all the characters. The sheriff and Mayor's interaction with Mick was pretty comical. I also liked Molly's character. She's the sheriff's sister, the towns EMT and pretty fiesty for a lioness shifter.
This book was entertaining and I would be interested in seeing some of the side characters get their own story. ARC provided by Netgalley.

My first book by Christine Warren and I really enjoyed this paranormal romance.
I am ok with the dead wife issue unlike some of my friends just the same as I believe in second chances- the ability of us as humans(or wolves in this case) to survive heartbreak and open up our hearts to love again is a courageous and hopeful thing in my opinion.
I liked Alphaville as the town of misfits, all the characters were well developed and fun to read. Renny's plight as the single red wolf desperate to run and hide from her obsessive stalker also made for a very adventurous story. I loved her character she was fiercely brave and independent.
Mick was very much the controlling alpha male, he had survived the loss of his first mate only to discover years later that Renny is also his intended mate.
He is more than surprised by that when he rescues the wounded wolf but it doesn't take him long to recover and claim Renny as his own.
Engaging plot and I was absorbed from start to finish.

I do believe I started this book a ways back because I remember a good half of this. Once upon a time I was a big fan of Christine Warren but I think I grew past it because it’s a little too contemporary for me.
But when I saw Callie Dalton, my favorite female narrator voice it, I decided to give it another go. But even her wonderful style couldn’t turn something mediocre into something awesome.

Baby, I'm Howling for You is the perfect book if you are in the mood for a guilty pleasure paranormal romance. This book was a book filled with protective alpha males, steamy sex scenes, and intense action.
One of the things I really enjoyed about this book was the characters. I really liked the wide cast of characters and how developed they were. The author clearly really cares for all of the characters, and that love was showcased throughout the story. I cannot wait to read more about this eclectic group of people. I also really enjoyed the plot of this story! I thought the author did a great job at keeping the story interesting. There was always a new danger right around the corner. The intense action moments always had me on the edge of my seat!
The romance between Renny and Mick was extremely sexy and passionate. The author did a great job developing intense chemistry between the two characters. The chemistry between Renny and Mick was palpable! I really enjoyed watching their relationship develop, even if it was a little fast paced and had insta-love vibes. I would have liked to see it develop even more, but I am hoping that I will get more development throughout the rest of the series! It's been quite a while since I have read a werewolf book, and even longer since I have read Christine Warren. I can't say why other than I am behind on her series and I just haven't had time to catch up lately. Anywho, I really like the premise of this new series she has created in Alpha, Washington - a town full of misfit shifters who don't quite fit in elsewhere or with packs of their own kind.
Renny Landry has always heard about the almost mythical Alphaville, but she knows that making it to the town is her last chance to get away from the danger on her tail (literally). Being pursued by goons sent by an obsessed stalker coyote, Renny is both so close but also not quite close enough when she makes her last desperate attempt for freedom. But fate intervenes and sends Renny into the path of a reclusive alpha werewolf that could be her salvation, and much more. Renny was a pretty good heroine. She wasn't a runner, which was a plus. Sometimes I did feel like she was too nonchalant about her safety, but I understood her wanting to start a new life and not feel like she was running scared all the time.
Mick Fischer is a brooding and reclusive alpha werewolf who came to Alpha after the death of his first mate. He is grumpy and growly and not a people person - my favorite kind of hero! I liked that he was an author of graphic novels and wished we would have had a little more info about that aspect of his life. But Mick was distracted for the bulk of the novel by our heroine, and his attempts to keep her safe from a pack of wild coyotes. I like the care and possessiveness he exhibited toward our heroine, and was glad he got over his reluctance to mate fairly quickly. I would have liked to know how his second mating was possible, but my imagination supplied a reason for me so I suppose that's good enough.
This story is of the fated mates trope, so you can expect things to move fast between our couple. Once that animal attraction kicks in, they have no choice but to follow their instincts. I like this fast-moving trope when we are in the paranormal/urban fantasy realm because I like to see the inner beast controlling things. The shapeshifters in this story seem to be more integrated with their beast so they have the drives, but they don't have the separate bestial personality that you see in some books. Their consciousness works the same whether they are in human or animal form.
So I was into the suspense and back story that we got with our heroine and her stalker. Based on the premise and the blurb, I thought this book would have more of a darker theme. However, this story is fairly light-hearted given the sadistic villain. So there was a mix of fun and fear for our heroine, with likable secondary characters who kept us entertained while the testosterone-filled alphas worked to track down the bad guys. I am looking forward time to spending time with some of these secondary characters in their own books, and I think they may even eclipse Renny and Mick for me with their big personalities.

Until that time arrives he remains reclusive and shut off from forming any close attachments. When he rescues Renny his wolf immediately takes notice of her and demands they claim her as their own.
Renny and Mick together were wonderful. I loved that he was all alpha wolf with her despite his initial reticence about her being his mate. Renny accepted Mick but knew that he might never be able to reciprocate her feelings. Nevertheless, she persevered, knowing that he was it for her. She was strong and feisty, willing to yield to him when necessary but also capable of standing strong by his side when needed. Their chemistry was sizzling and their relationship was what romance novels are all about.
I guess haven’t read enough shifter books to really appreciate the protective alpha wolf aspect of the genre. I am totally sold on it now. This was a fast paced read with lots of action, great secondary characters and plenty of steam. The hero’s previous mate was worrisome but the author put my mind at ease regarding Mick’s feelings for his first mate as compared to Renny.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I’m excited to see what capers the next couple will get into.

Baby, I'm Howling for You had a lot of things that got me excited for this novel and series in general.
+ Heroine is a librarian. Go bookworms!
+ Set in a town for misfit shifters. I expected a lot of quirky characters.
+ Shifters. Rawrrr. I honestly don't know why they are sexy but they just are. Must be that animal magnetism thing. ;)
Sadly when I started reading, after a couple of pages it was clear that Baby, I'm Howling for You is just a classic paranormal romance novel.
- I have read dozens with similar characters and plot and there was nothing that stood out and will make me remember it in a couple of month. Except maybe that it was meh.
- The concept of mates where they instantly jump into bed and develop deep feelings for each other.
- There were no quirky or unusual character. Everyone were typical and cliched.
In the end, I am not sure if I will read the next book in this series. Maybe if I need a palate cleanser since it was a quick read.

From the very start this is an action packed paranormal novel with well developed characters and a totally engaging plot. It is one of those books that, once you’ve started, you really don’t want to put down until you’ve found out what happens - so don’t say I haven’t warned you! Renny Landry, a red wolf, is desperately trying to reach Alphaville before her pursuers capture her. After escaping from her stalker, Geoffrey Hilliard, he has sent his coyote shifters to bring her back to him. When she has to abandon her car she runs, striving to reach the small town which is reputed to be a haven for shifters, regardless of what they shift into.
When she’s on the outskirts of the town the coyotes catch up with her and it is only when Mick Fischer intervenes that she escapes them. Mick is a wolf shifter who moved to Alphaville after his mate was killed. Wolf shifters usually only have one mate but his wolf recognises Renny as his mate, now he just needs to protect her and convince her that he isn’t another Geoffrey!
A fast paced, enthralling read, this paranormal romance has the whole of Alphaville in danger from the coyote shifters who are still determined to capture Renny. The chemistry between Renny and Mick is off the charts but can he and the town keep her safe and thwart the coyotes?

I recently read a novella set in the town of Alphaville and if honest was a little disappointed but I nevertheless thought I'd give this full length story a go. Happily it has a lot more meat to it with a wolf shifter trying to escape her stalker and those who work for him. Plus it starts with a bang as Renny quite literally falls at the feet of her Mate ! Now I'm not always a huge fan of that predictable trope but I did like that Mick has a backstory that freakishly connects with the situation Renny is in. Obviously my lips are sealed but sometimes fate is a very strange thing.
Still I mustn't digress so will say I liked that the romantic moments weren't too frequent or dragged out for far too much of the book. Renny isn't afraid to fight by her mans side even if he doesn't want her to which did make me smile. We have really nasty villains here but best of all a set of supporting characters that I'd really like the author to revisit. I thought some things dragged a wee bit but overall I was entertained by these shifters.

Renny is on the run from a crazed coyote stalker and seeking safe haven in the aptly named town of Alphaville. There she finds Mick and this magical insta-mating thing occurs. Mick is kind of dark and damaged after the loss of his previous mate. Renny is sweet and optimistic despite the drama in her life. You'd think this would equate to angst heavy, but it really didn't. I quite enjoyed the steamy romance between the two.
The setting of Alphaville was pretty cool. I liked the idea of this secluded world for shifters who can't live with their own for whatever reasons. The secondary characters were fascinating and made me add the next novel to my to be read shelf when I was only halfway finished with Baby, I’m Howling For You. The bad guys were crazy bad. Coyote seemed like the perfect species to choose for some reason. I guess because the coyotes here in Texas can be a little scary if you cross paths, or hear them howling in the distance while walking your big dog (speaking from experience. FYI dog was also spooked).
All around this is a solid series debut reminiscent of Anne Bishop's 'The Others' series, but with quite a bit more naked time . I'll definitely keep going as long as I enjoy the characters as much as I did Renny and Mick.

April 9, 2022Based on the title, I was expecting something a bit lighter and quippier. Instead we have a woman who has been long-term stalked, losing basically everything but her life. Trying to find shelter, she meets a grumpy jerk love interest. He's unfriendly but lusts after her without saying so until about page 100 where he literally throws her over his shoulder and carries her off for sex. I quit there.

Renny Landry is on the run and she knows just where she is going. Somewhere where a lone wolf shifter on the run may have a chance of a brand new life: Alphaville. Alphaville is supposed to be a town where a shifter can find sanctuary no matter what animal they turn into and that's exactly what Renny needs right now; sanctuary. From the crazy stalker coyote shifter who believes she belongs to him and if he can't have her, no one can. Mick is escaping from his past in Alphaville, unlike most wold shifters he didn't follow his mate when she died, he just can't figure out why. Until a half dead red wolf shifter is chased to his door, then his instincts know; she's his.
A brand new series from Christine Warren? I was definitely going to be trying it out. Warren's brand of PNR normally involves a lot of fun, a lot of laughs and some hunky heroes. However, much to my dismay Baby, I'm Howling For You just didn't hit the spot for me. I wanted it to, I love the idea of a town full of different shifters, each their for their own secret reasons, which are there to be discovered throughout the series.
I found that this book just didn't hold my interest. I was bored. The story line was predictable and although this is something that I don't usually mind, in romance most stories are predictable, I have to at least enjoy the ride, even when I know where it is going. Instead I found my mind wandering as I read, until by 50% I realised I was skim reading and not paying much attention. I didn't need to, I knew what was going to happen.
When a story doesn't hold much interest me, it's then the characters that have to carry my interest forward and again this just didn't happen. I liked Renny well enough but she didn't have enough charisma to pull me through the book. Mick the alpha wolf shifter, our hot hero...meh. The problem was was that they were just okay, but ultimately forgettable. This book didn't pull me in, I wasn't intrigued by any of the characters Warren presented and I feel like in a few weeks time I will barely remember I have read this book at all.
This wasn't a hit for me and I doubt I will continue with the series, there was just nothing in there wither character or story-wise that interested me enough to read further on.

Title: Baby, I'm Howlin For You by Christine Warren
First, it has to be admitted that the title for this first entry of the Alphaville series is kind of cheesy but besides that, it embodies some of my favorite PNR characters/elements that I love to read about.
Female red wolf, Renny Little Red Landry is on the run and she is doing everything she possibly can just to stay alive. As for character, Renny would be considered a typical leading female in a Paranormal Romance, but I feel that her character is a bit annoying. When reading paranormal romances, I look for female leads who are strong, have a take-charge attitude, can hold their own in a fight, and have a good bit of common sense. Renny’s character is strong and determined with that keeps her moving forward. What is annoying are the portions of the story where her character willfully misunderstands her counterpart. The misunderstandings between the main characters become a bit of a distraction and I spent a good amount of time fussing at the book … at her character.
A reader actively fussing at the book or being drawn into the character(s) is a very good indicator that the author really, REALLY knows their craft. Just my opinion.
As an alpha male, Mike Fisher is a pretty good lead. His character hits all the good guy benchmarks like he’s handsome, strong, protective attractive and super indulgent. I do feel that there was a bit of an imbalance between the two leading characters. The leading male is an Alpha and not much of that Alphaness got through. Where the leading female willfully misunderstood everything, there wasn’t much on his part to counter her behavior. The author does a good job of detailing this character's background and I would have liked to see more of his past overlap in this story. Just enough to show Mike’s true Alpha abilities.
This is a solid entry into the Alphaville series and there are enough action and crazy secondary characters to keep the reader interested. As secondary characters, the Coyotes are an interesting mix and I really would have liked to see more from them. Their characters are so varied, dysfunctional and it would have been good to see more of the inter-workings of there group.
I look forward to seeing you what happens in the next installment.

This is one series I can’t get enough of already! Renny is on the run and makes her way to Alphaville, a town full of shifters. Being one herself, the first resident she meets is her mate, a lone wolf named Mick. Mick isn't looking for his mate, he just want to be alone. He can't help letting Renny get under his skin or the need to protect her. The two have chemistry and light up the pages when they are together.
I found Baby, I'm Howling for You to be a fun, romantic read. I love the concept of the town, and all of the residents we have met so far. The book is paced evenly and easy to get lost in. I'm so excited to see what comes next from Ms. Warren in this series.

This author does paranormal romance just right. Plenty of page-turning action along with some secondary characters I look forward to seeing again. Mick and Renny are perfect for each other in every way. It was so much fun reading about these wolves along with some other shifters. This is the first book to kick off the series of Alphaville. I can't wait to see what's in store for us next.

Something to Howl about was a quick read but it sets up the 'world' Warren is creating quite well. Annie and Jonas are likable characters and it is a bit of a hate-to-love twist on the fated mates trope.
Baby I'm Howling For You is the first full length book in the Alphaville series and centers around Renny and Mick, both wolves on the run (but for different reasons). Mick's mate died 8 years ago and he has refused to move on. Renny has a coyote stalker who won't move on. She ends up on Mick's front porch and finds her mate.
I will say that the plot is trite if you read PNR. Fated mates, quirky shifters, cartoonish bad guys, and other common themes are found. I was a little bothered by this, but I don't mind these tropes, so it didn't totally ruin the book.
Mick doesn't want a mate. He had one and she died. He fights the pull towards Renny, making it obvious he wants nothing to do with her. Then, suddenly, he mates her. Obviously, she is confused. Then he gets pissed when she voices her confusion. Mick was just kind of a jackass. I understood his pain and loss over his first mate, but his behavior was just rude, even after they mated. He never made Renny feel like he actually loved her. It was almost like she was a responsibility. Not sexy.
However, I loved Renny! She is sweet and funny. Her story is sad-no family, no friends, no pack, just a jerk of a stalker who won't take no for an answer. She isn't the type to want to put others at risk so she isn't willing to just sit around and let the residents of Alpha take over her life. She stands up to the men and isn't afraid of a fight. Frankly, she is a great character!
The plot unfolds around the hunt for the stalker combined with the mating relationship between Renny and Mick. You would think once they mate the issue is resolved, but its not! There are some funny supporting characters and some great banter between them that will keep things light and enjoyable. While I might have not liked Mick, I liked the town and the people and Renny enough to make this a great book!

I like shifter/werewolf books. I like shifter/werewolf romances even more. Unfortunately, finding a good solid shifter/werewolf romance is a dime a dozen. I have reviewed the good, the bad and the ugly. I have become very picky about what I read because of the duds I have met. I can say with absolute certainty that Baby, I’m Howling for You is one of the good ones.
Baby, I’m Howling for You has an interesting plot. Renny is on the run from an obsessed coyote. She is running to the town of Alphaville. Alphaville has a reputation as a city that takes in the cast-offs of the shifters society. Renny is hoping that if she can make it there, that the city’s alphas will be able to help protect her. Unfortunately for her, the coyotes’ catch up to her when her car runs out of gas. Forced to run for her life, Renny ends up in the backyard of a solitary Alpha wolf named Mick. What Renny doesn’t know is that fate has connected them. What draws them together? Will Renny be able to get around Mick’s walls? Will she lose her coyote stalker? I loved the idea of Alphaville. A city made up of shifters who either do not have a pack or are by nature solitary was fascinating to me. Add in that all the government positions were filled by Alphas’ and I loved it. I liked that it was Renny’s version of Shangri-La. What I liked, even more, was that it was attainable. That it was real and there were people ready to help Renny with her stalker.
I could not stop reading this book. It kept me on edge the entire time I was reading it. I needed to find out what happened to Renny. I needed to know what would happen with Renny and Mick. I also was very curious about the residents of Alphaville. What residents that were introduced were very interesting. This is a series that I can sink my teeth into!!
I liked Renny. I thought her stalking situations was portrayed very realistically. Everything that coyote did, I could see a human who was a stalker doing the same thing. She was brave. I mean, she took off running towards safety in her wolf form instead of letting the coyote pack take her back. I did feel that her personality was kind of suppressed during the story. But, it was done on purpose. She was in a life or death situation. She couldn’t be a peppy, happy cheerleader. Instead, the author chose to let her reveal different aspects of her personality slowly. I also did think that her reaction to Mick’s revelation was very understated. Very understated. I also would have had the same thoughts she did afterward. I mean how do you compete with a ghost?
Mick was such an enigma during the first half of the book. The author chose to reveal his secrets at the same pace that Renny started to open up. I will say that I was pretty surprised at some of the things revealed about him. I was also surprised at some things that he had done. When that was revealed, I couldn’t relate it to the Alpha that was portrayed. He also did his darndest to keep Renny away from him. He didn’t want or need her in his life. But his wolf (and hers) had different plans.
The sexual tension between Mick and Renny was off the charts. I did find it a little odd when he was attracted to her when she was injured. When they did finally have sex, it was off the charts. It was so good that they stayed cloistered for almost a week.
The end of the book was action packed. I did find it a little unfortunate about what happened to the coyotes. But considering that they were a huge problem for so many shifters, they deserved it. I am excited to see what the rest of this series will be like. If it is anything like Baby, I’m Howling for You, then I will be pretty happy.
Baby, I’m Howling for You is a sizzling action-packed shifter romance novel. It will keep you engaged for the entire book. The main characters were very relatable. The plotline was engaging. I couldn’t put this book down. I needed to find out what would happen with Mick and Renny. I am looking forward to the rest of the series. I would recommend Baby I’m Howling for You. I would also reread it.
I would suggest that no one under the age of 20. So adults only. Why adults only? Well, there is explicit sex. There is also language and violence.

I was excited to return to Alphaville as the prequel novella was a great introduction to the series. In this novel we once again meet a heroine who flees to Alphaville for sanctuary as the town has a reputation and history for taking in persecuted and lone shifters in need. Here we meet Renny and Mick. I thoroughly enjoyed this PNR novel as I felt they both had sizzling chemistry and great banter. I could not get enough!
When Renny Landry finds herself the victim of an insane stalker and his goons she flees to Alphaville. But when she is wounded in a failed attack and rescued by Mick Fischer, she never would have expected her life to turn upside down. What happens when she meets her match under dangerous circumstances? Will they be able to survive the stalking shifter and Mick's past returning to haunt him?
I enjoyed this story and Mick and Renny's connection but felt it was pretty similar to the prequel in some ways (insta-connection, initial rejection of the mating bond by the male, etc.). But it did keep my attention and hooked to the last page! All in all I am interested to see what follow up stories the author has planned in this series as Jaeger seems like he would be a fantastic hero! Loved how their relationship developed and how they worked through their feelings, hopes and fears. And I really enjoyed getting to know more of the crazy town's folk! This is a exciting first book to this series. It's starts out with a bang and keeps going. I just loved it! Like I said above Warren's shifters are my favorite and Baby, I'm Howling For You reminded me why.
Right away your heart will pound with fear for poor Renny. She has spent so much of her time running from evil. When her time is almost up she's lucky enough to run into Mick Fischer. He's a true lone wolf. He knows the people in town but isn't really involved with them. Since he's lost his mate and home he keeps to himself.
Mick might have already found his mate and lost her but life has a way of messing with you in the way of a new mate.
Right away you know these two are perfect for each other. Mich and the town band behind Renny and make her feel at home. She was so lucky to find these people. The story ends well and you are satisfied with the outcome.
Not only that but you get to meat so many wonderful new characters. Characters that you can't wait for their stories. The most notable is John the mayor, Zeke and Molly and I can't forget Linus...he's a tiger! Told you there was a tiger in the series!
Each of these characters will make you want more of this series.
