Reasonably good comic collection continuing the Image tradition

Bringing back the Magdalena character from the Image comics of last century, this collection is reasonably interesting as it deals with how the mantle of the Magdalena is passed on with an appropriate amount of demons involved.

Unfortunately the artwork is not as good nor clear as in previous incarnations and that sorted of spoilt the general end result. It's OK but nothing particularly special.

Early Tini Howard shows how great a writer she'll become, especially writing about characters who resist the instructions of their elders or who want to live their own lives and things get messy.

Unfortunately, the art is also a little messy and appears not to be finished before colors were applied, which drags this down a lot for me.

Still, a great formative comic for Tini and thus, definitely worth seeking out.

I left a more detailed review of the first issue. In summary, the team’s work is spectacular, the story works in a four-issue arc, and Maya is an excellent new Magdalena.
