A strange and powerful force ties the soul of a new-born baby girl Jewls, to that of a five year old boy Michael, whose best friend is the girl's brother. As she grows older, she becomes attached to this boy (now young man), becoming each other's confidantes and biggest supporters through life, even through the most difficult of times. Raised as the only daughter by a very affluent family in Sandton Johannesburg, Jewls is spoilt from the moment she enters the world and is treated like a little princess by her family and loved ones. Now, having blossomed into a young astute woman, Jewls sets out to become a brilliant young attorney, earning her Master's degree from a US university. Setting foot on American soil, she is immediately smitten by a fellow student at university, who reminds her of her soul mate back home. Again, strange and powerful forces are at play and Jewls is taken aback by the strength of her own feelings and intensity of the love that awakens within her soul. It was as if the stars and planets had suddenly aligned to bring that particular suitor into her life. Immediately Jewls is wracked with internal conflict as deep in her heart, she desires to be with another man delivered to her by the Cosmos - or so everyone believes! She feels it is her destiny to be with him but this brings on an avalanche of feelings, as she finds herself pulled in opposite directions by two extremely potent and mystical forces. On the one hand, her soul is tied to her new beau from the moment he deflowers her; and on the other hand, a strange and compelling force keeps drawing Jewls back to the kindred spirit of Michael back home. Will she choose to remain in the US with her new love, or will she make a difficult choice and leave him? Whatever happens, hearts will be broken, souls will grieve and linger on, barring the carrier from moving on with their lives. Jewls is about to find out that the price of happiness can come at a heavy cost most of the time. This is a story about the conflict of the human spirit and soul, as feelings battle for domination within one's heart. Although the heart wants what the heart wants, letting go is never easy, particularly for the one left behind. The ramifications of broken promises and lost love will be felt for a very long time, perhaps even forever. The book also deals with a number of burning issues of relationships, inviting the reader to identify with either situations or characters. It also shows the difficulty humans face, in making bold and courageous decisions at the risk of losing everything, while highlighting the dangers of relationship hopping without ridding oneself of an ex's aura and hold. The characters and events in this story are all connected by strange and mysterious forces of "soul connections and soul ties," that bind the characters to each other with the kind of love that is deeper and more intense than anything we can ever imagine. Behind every gift, every word, every time spent, every touch, every declaration and every intimate experience, a bond of some kind is formed, that has the potential to either destroy or elevate all of the characters involved. Who will Jewls end up with if fate has its way?
Providence: Mystery of The Soul Ties By – Pertunia Lehoka Format – Kindle Edition Print Length – 676 Pages Genre – Fiction My Ratings – 4.6/5 Pertunia Lehoka's Providence: Mystery of the Soul Ties is a narrative about the fight between the human spirit and soul, as sentiments compete for dominance within one's heart. Starting with the title, the book's aim is obvious from the start, as we see the title, which reveals that this is a love tale, but there is also a mystery, which fascinated me. Book Cover has my heart, it clearly demonstrates that what the story is about, which makes it self-explanatory. Jewls, the female protagonist, and Michael, the male protagonist, have had their souls entwined by a mysterious and powerful force since Jewls' birth. Her family treated Jewls like a princess, and she was extremely connected to Michael. She traveled to America to get her master's degree. There, she became deeply drawn to someone, but she was taken aback by those odd and tremendous forcible forces. Now, Jewls is torn between two options: stay in the United States with her new love or make the tough decision to leave him. Although the heart desires what it desires, Jewls will now be aware of the actual cost of happiness. I loved the idea of souls being linked and relationships in general. Get a copy of the book to find out what decision she will make. Also, there’s a cliffhanger so get ready for the book 2 as well. Fiction has always held a special place in my heart, and I thoroughly liked reading this one. The characters are introduced and framed in a meaningful way. The plot is faultless and well-developed. Though the book is rather long, there were no dull moments while reading it; it took me only a few sittings to finish it, and yes, it was an actual page-turner. Overall, I like the author's work, the research she did before writing and her originality, which is evident in the book. This novel, with its reader-friendly language and smooth narration, will be a joy for all fiction (romantic) fans. This is a book that is suitable for individuals of all ages and may be a great companion for your spare time. Strongly recommended. Happy Reading

The life of Jewls is a testimony of a life of lives. The character is solid in the way that it is portrayed, such that you almost expect to meet them in the street, it is amazing. You wrote this story with tenderness, in other places with torrid affection to main character, and a tad of unpredictable anger and frustration. It portrays so well the tempestuous nature of a young life. The rendering, in its tonal application, shows a little of the author's own temperament, giving some of the best moments in the book. The main character is a mixture of modernity, with crude undertones, which are a realistic portrayal of a living person; the elements being all there, and threaded in a dynamic fashion. The intricacies of relatioships, the environment they thrive in, are placed in an interesting way.
For though people are created in the image of one being, but the facets are diverse, yet singular in their compilation such that there is no monotonous effect, but uniqueness; Jewls character mirrors a similar concept of a crested being, even though it is by imaginary conception and not of intimacy. *
Jewls -She has to be one of the most confused characters I know. She cannot withstand fights and she shifts the blame to the next person. Honesty is not her strongest point. She just has last born tendencies. I have to admit though that she is dedicated towards her goals and career. She puts her foot down when it comes to the things she values. She intentionally blares the lines when her heart doesn’t know what it wants, making the other person hold on to hope of something that might never be.
Michael- “You are in a committed relationship and I should not have to request you to spend time with me.” Even before you could understand I exist I loved you, he is that type of a guy. He has literally loved her all his all her life. He was the first person to hold her after she was born and he kept that promise that he made to her then to never let her fall and he has been taking care of her all her life. Honesty matters to him , his love knows no bounds.
Jeremiah “We’ve just had our first fight! I never had a fight this painful with any woman in my life.” At first I thought he was a play boy. Unfortunately for him he fell in love with one confused woman who claims to have it all figured out. I wish he had never met her. This guy is very good at communication and goes all out for the woman he loves. Right at the beginning while she was still playing games he knew that she was the one for him and he stops at nothing to make that a reality. While she believes that they can never be, he is determined to prove to her that they are meant to be.
“When you love someone, the fight becomes that much painful and too much to bear, especially when you battle to find common ground.”
This is the first book this author has written and was published some time ago. Do you believe in Love at first sight? This story had ups and downs for me as I struggled with the main female characters view of the world in which she lived in and the decisions she made. I did have a problem with her dishonesty but that is my opinion and my values, not the authors or the characters. The writing of this book is beautiful and well written but I did find myself loosing interested at times during the story. It might have just been my impatience to find out who Jewls would end up with in the end. I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest and voluntary review after reading it. I enjoyed learning a bit more about the South African culture during this book with the family interactions/respect and how there staff where more like family than employees.
Can you be in love with two men at the same time? This is a question Jewls will have to ask herself during this book. Wil love and destiny prevail or will the wrong decisions change everything? Are Jewls and Michael soul mates or Jewls and Jeremiah? You will have to read to learn more and with the possibility of more books in this trilogy, the end may just change in the future. This book was beautifully and well written. It started off a bit slow to my liking, but this can be due to my impatience. The author did not leave anything to the imagination. The characters and storyline was well constructed and planned out. I got sucked into their lives and the drama surrounding their decisions. It got me thinking about the soul ties we create and the truth behind it. How every action in your life has an effect on another person. How you link yourself to people who might eventually not play a big part in your life. I enjoyed this book right to the last page, including the element of surprise at the end. It truly was a great story. I cannot wait for book two - I need to know what is going to happen next!
