A Black Rainbow Happily Ever After Novella Discover what happens in the Black Rainbow world since you finished the last page... After overcoming all of the obstacles to their love in Black Rainbow, Levi Black and Thea Cunning live out their real drama-free romance in this happily ever after novella. This novella is for fans of Black Rainbow and is best not be read as a standalone.
I’m a twenty-year-old something born in Montreal, Canada but currently living in Virginia for school. I would tell you want my major is however after two years I still have no idea what I’m doing.
So I’m a writer (duh that’s how you found me), movie enthusiast, and self-proclaimed chef. I love music even though I can’t sing or dance to save my life. (That doesn’t necessarily stop me but you’ve been warned.)
I started Ruthless People the summer of 2013 in hopes of giving myself a new type of love and crime drama. I never knew so many people thought like me! I feel truly blessed to have fans like you all! Writing is my true love and having you all enjoy my words is a dream come true.
Black Rainbow was the first book I've ever read by JJ McAvoy and I loved it so much. Thea and Levi have a beautiful romance that started out forbidden. Rainbows Ever After is their extended happily ever after and I loved every second! If you're looking for a stunning extended epilogue I recommend picking this one up!
The perfect ending to Levi and Thea's love story! Adorable, funny and super sexy. You don't want to miss this, especially if you enjoyed Black Rainbow!
I don't know if the second book was needed... The end of the first book was a happy ending. I would like to remember the ending in the first book, unfortunately not this ☹️
3.5☆ I floved the banter and dialogue in this.🙌🔥 It was a treat to be back with the amazing Thea and Levi again--they are just so damn hot, clever, and funny together. And the way they love and support each other in everything...even when they argue...*sigh*🥰 It made me want to reread Black Rainbow.
“First, why past tense? Second, don’t try to cross examine me, Mrs. Black; I’m one hell of a lawyer. Third, what do you want for lunch?” “First, past because I’m slightly annoyed with you and plan on withholding sex. Second, I’m not your wife yet. Third, you keep saying you’re one heck of a lawyer, and yet, I just see you in here, kicking your feet up.” 🤭
I think this jam-packed novella wished it had been a full sequel--there was just so much happening and so many different time periods covered! While some is day-to-day HEA domestic bliss, there are also various personal and professional challenges that the couple has to go through—in the past, present, and future timelines.
“I sighed, shaking my head. “Do you know what sucks the most about being black?” He didn’t answer, and I knew he wouldn’t until I finished my rant. “Not knowing if some people are just judgmental assholes, or if they are racist, judgmental assholes. And I can’t say anything until I know, because I don’t want to be the girl who cried racism. But you should have seen the lady in charge. She kept picking at me during the class, throwing out unwanted statistics for unwed mothers and minorities, which is code for black mothers. I wanted to tell her to shove it, but everyone was just staring, and I didn’t want to leave because … because we paid for the damn class!”” 🥺🤬
Yeah, to have to deal with that kind of bullshit on top of life being life…😤 But all the time jumps back and forth give the feeling of snapshots in an album that aren't chronological, but are arranged to create a deliberate experience. I kept wishing for a better proofreader and a longer book; among other storylines, I want to know what happened with Thea and the NFL wives suing the NFL!! 😅 🧨 Oh god the smart, juicy dramaaaa we would get out THAT case!? Honestly, anything J.J. McAvoy writes about this couple, I will read. Give me their grocery list; I bet even that is entertaining because it's them.💕
“I’m telling you, all this baseball stuff, and he’ll want to take up interpretive dance or something.” The moment I said it, Levi looked up at me as if I’d lost my mind, hugging Ulric to his chest. “Let’s go see your room before your mommy tries to ruthlessly crush my heart again,” he whispered, headed for the stairs. 😂
Thea and Levi are an amazing couple, they fight, but the most important thing is that they communicate with each other. I'm so glad we got to see their life after the HEA, it just gets better for them and they're still in love like it's still the beginning of their relationship. Levi's love for baseball was hilarious, the ending is pretty much perfect, we go farther into their future and the are still as happy as ever. BUT, THAT PREVIEW FOR CHILDREN OF VICE, OMG, ETHAN IS INSANE AND I'M GOING TO LOVE EVERY SECOND OF THAT BOOK, I CANNOT WAIT!
If you read and loved Black Rainbow, I think you're going to enjoy Rainbows Ever After. The very lovable Thea and Levi are back again, but this time we get a glimpse into what they have been up to since they met and fell in love. This couple still hasn't lost their appeal and are still having fun trying to prove which one can be the most stubborn out of the two of them. Add in some adorable kids and the other family members, and you have the formula for a story with bits of laughter and a good amount of romance, that when all mixed together, makes for a very entertaining read. It was really great to visit with Mr and Mrs Black again, and I hope this isn't the last we see of them. Since both Thea and Levi are high powered attorneys, maybe we can look forward to a story about them and a case they go head to head on, hint, hint. I gave this one 4 stars.
A heartwarming, hilarious and sweet sequel to an incredible book. Loved the characters, the mellow scening, seeing more of the day to day lives of the characters. It was all cute, light, fluffy and dear.
I particularly enjoyed more the first book than this sequel but nonetheless, who doesn't want to see "happily ever after" between Mr. and future Mrs. Black?
NOTE: If you haven't read the first book, don't attempt to read this! Don't spoil your fun so get going and start from where it all began! Black Rainbow
Thank you for the HEA, author. This was truly a good ending for the couple.
I loved this novella! This isn't the first time I've said this, but I really love when authors write sequels to characters I've enjoyed reading. This definitely put me in a good mood! And the sneak peek at the end for Children of Vice was perfection!
When I first read Black Rainbow I was in love with the book and the characters. So when I came across this book I was super exited for a easy, sweet read with characters that I love. And that is what I got. It was beautiful and it was a sweet addition to the series. I truly recommend reading it if you have already read the first book.
*Taps Mic* HELLO?!!!!!! Can someone please tell me why I didn't know this novella existed? Seriously, Not joking here
I read Black Rainbow in 2015. Fell in love with Prof. Black. It was an incredible sexy/cute/romantic story. I thought that was it until a few days ago when I found this. I needed to read it and was PERFECT
I have loved Thea and Levi since I was introduced to them in Black Rainbow. I loved their meeting from the beginning. I love the fact that they both we're just not looking for anything in particular and gradually they fell in love with one another. This is an update, future, letting you know what's happening in their lives. I love that we got to see Thea and Levi as parents and also as a couple. Not only are they working parents but they're also a power couple. We do get some of Thea's insecurities for chaining to her being a young working woman, a black working woman, and also trying to be an independent married woman. I love the fact that Levi was so understanding and so caring about Thea. I also love the fact that we got to meet Ulric, Thea and Levi son, and also Willow, Thea and Levi's daughter.
I'm not going to go into much detail and what happens in the story but whoever like Black Rainbow. Would love this update. You get to meet all the previous characters that we got to see in the first installment of Black Rainbow and also we got to be introduced to new characters that is just wonderful.
This was an incredible read. This was the continuation of Thea and Levi’s love story. It showed the birth of their son, Ulric, and their wedding. Also, it showed us a glimpse of their future. The story was very cute. I loved getting to see Thea and Levi again after the events of Black Rainbow. They proved that they are more than just a teacher-student relationship and that their feelings were genuine. Thea is a bit more insecure in this book because she is pregnant and is worried that something will happen to Ulric. Levi is trying to be supportive, and trying to protect Thea. I love them both individually, but they shine brighter. I hope we get to see a book into how Tristan and Bethan met, and a book for DeShawn and Selene. Overall, an amazing read.
I’m giving this 4.75⭐️! I had to knock a couple off as there were several spelling and grammatical errors which were rather frustrating.
However I loved it!! This is a great example of how a post story novella should be!! I loved finding out what they were up to and how their future went 😍😍😍
I don't think this novella was really needed. I didn't mind how Black Rainbow ended. This novella didn't give me the feels of Levi and Thea that Black Rainbow did.
You get glimpses into Thea's pregnancy, once the baby is born, and then some future glimpses when the kids are older.
You're not missing out on anything if you choose not to read this.

I love it when Authors give us more and more and more. 💟 I love me some extended happily ever afters, it makes me feel all fuzzy inside. THE BEST. 😫💖💓💓💓
Well, it was a nice ending. Sweet. Short. What kicked me in the gut is that excerpt of Children of Vice. How dare you J.J? You make me too excited and wanting more like an addict wanting more weeds! Haha! Please release it ASAP.
This was an okay read. I enjoyed Thea, Levi and their family in this short read as much as I did in the book, but I expected more from this novella. It wasn't a bad read, it just didn't satisfy me in the way I hoped because I loved the book.
