Inspirational story but book is lacking

Absolutely loved Nick’s story and it is amazing to see how far he has come in spite of his numerous adversities in and out of Death Row.

The book lacked substance for me. Some theories were completely off. Glad the prospect of kindness worked for his anguished mental state but it is dangerous to suggest that therapy is not needed to get through tough times. Also, too much repetition!!

Overall, it was an ok read but I disagree with aspects he lays out in the book.

This is not the most well-written book that you will come across. There’s spelling and grammatical errors throughout, and albeit a short book, much of the message is repetitive. With that said, the advice and inspiration that is in this book is well worth the read. Some of my favorite quotes to tell myself when I need uplifted are from this book. I definitely recommend watching the documentary “The Fear of 13” before reading this book, as it adds context and makes the writing more powerful.
