Jeff is forced to dig into a conspiracy involving South American rebels, a stolen military prototype, and a ruthless Canadian spy. Before terrorists take over Venezuela and, possibly, the world.
Steve Richer is the bestselling author of the action thriller The President Killed His Wife. He went to law school and film school before considering becoming a sherpa, though he abandoned the idea upon discovering what a sherpa really was. Now he spends his days writing books.
He specializes in fun, over the top thrillers that read like action movies. He splits his time between Montreal and Miami.
Though a bit dated, this was a very good thriller with a complex plot and interesting characters. I enjoyed reading the story and was pretty well pulled into the experience after the first 1/3 of the book. I like the voice that the author uses and I also like that his characters aren't always super heroes or super spies or something like that.
While not Richer's best work (it is a first novel), it told a interesting and fun story.
First off don't skip over the author's note at the front of the book. After that hold on to your hat because you are in for a fast paced thrill from beginning to end. Once again Mr. Richer takes you into the world of international espionage. This time with a rookie who is both well read and persistent, but has literally no field experience. Another great read! Highly recommend to all who love a fast paced thriller.
