Blockchain Technology is still at its infancy when it comes to information. Current research and case studies on the Blockchain technology mirrors the very initial implementation of the technology and its feasibility. It is this implementation that has brought about changes in segments and processes that are within the financial institutions. It is the time we began to appreciate the contributions of Blockchain technology that has been very instrumental in powering the digital currency Bitcoin. The Blockchain Technology has been at the forefront of facilitating peer-to-peer transactions. This is without any form of intermediaries such as banking industries or any form of governing institution. By keeping the user’s information confidential, the Blockchain Technology plays a central role in validating as well as storing permanent records of all transactions made. This means that the personal information that is acquired here is private and safe. This ensures that all transactions that go through the system are transparent and free from all forms of corruption.

Despite the fact that many opportunities for the Blockchain require digital currency, Bitcoin is only one application of the greatest computer science-based innovation. The Blockchain system has the ability of holding any legal document ranging from title deeds, marriage certificates, birth certificates to even educational degree certificates among others. You can simply refer to it as a World Wide Ledger! The main reason for this is that it permits smart contracts, transactions, decentralized autonomous organizations, and government services among others. In other words, Blockchain Technology is the internet of everything that requires a ledger of everything. The Blockchain is open, global and distributed platform that fundamentally alters what we are able to do online, the manner in which we do it and who can take part. In this book, you will learn what Blockchain Technology is. We are going to discuss the key concept of Blockchain Technology including the mechanism by which this works. The book will also shed light into the various components of a Blockchain system, the risks associated with its adoption, promising examples of Blockchain-based application that use this technology as well as its future applications. You will simply appreciate the fact that Blockchain technologies is a representation of a novel way of business transactions. At its best, Blockchain Technology has the best way of bringing about a profound change in economic, social, scientific and political activities.
