It all started when I got my first action figure. Actually, that's not true. It all started when I got a second super hero, because that's when I began telling love stories. After that an entire drippy television soap opera unfolded daily on the floor of my bedroom. There were love triangles, unrequited affections, jealous rages, love hexagons, screaming arguments, and tender reconciliations. Sure, the occasional sea monster trampled unsuspecting citizens and our lovesick heroes were forced to intervene, but mostly they were busy working on their relationship.

My parents asked me: "Why don't you have more friends?" Bless them.

C.M. Randles is a comic book nerd at heart masquerading as an effective adult. He shares his residence in Denver, Colorado with one glorious husband (the hero in his own love story), beloved son (aforementioned ravaging sea beastie), and two amazing step-children (both far more grown up than he will ever be). When he's not writing he is daydreaming, reading other queer romance books, or getting unhealthily involved with the characters in super hero movies. He is transgender and believes deeply in freedom, responsibility, autonomy, and chocolate.

3.75 stars Tim and Devon

Friends/lovers forever and then not.....

After a desperate phone call from his sister, about her pregnancy, Tim returns to his hometown.
Tim, in the meantime a thirty six year supermodel, has palpitations from anticipation to see Devon again after all these years.
Tim has it all...a career, lots of money, a New York apartment, more than one PA's and a boyfriend Andrew, who is a famous actor and who is very active on social media. And the fans love them....only Tim is very unhappy, he is almost not likable and drinks to much, having to many hangovers and needs more hours to recover from it.

Devon lives still in Nebraska, is a divorced daddy of a twin and veterinarian.
A totally different life.
When they meet after all these years the fire is burning high again.
Devon is deep in the closet and Tim absolutely not.

Tim stays a few days longer to be with Devon and they have the best time of their life.
But Tim has a boyfriend and have to return to New York. Their parting goes with a lot of tears from both men.

Bit by bit we get to know what happened years ago and why Tim left.

Some side stories in this journey are from Tim sister, Devons ex wife and Andrew and their fans.
The red thread is nice done.
It was an entertaining nice read, a bit superficial but on the other side really endearing and funny. I enjoyed it for sure.
The flow was good and the writing style ditto.
For a debut novel this author is very promising.

Second chances at love are rare and forgiveness can be very hard, but sometimes one (or both) partners do not have all the information or are just too young to deal with their problems. In this story, Tim has run from his first love and a life in Nebraska to become a model in New York City – only to find out that he can’t be happy without dealing with that from which he ran so many years ago. Not that he realizes this immediately once a family emergency calls him back, so what ensues is a drama-filled path to happiness.

¸.•´.•´¨)3.5 stars...Can't resist this second time around...

This was more Tim's story than Devon's, yet somehow the readers got assaulted by Devon's POV, even if it were a small amount of face time. The story was about second chances and forgiveness. Coming to terms with your own downfall and receiving an epiphany that turned your whole life around.

Tim was a fading star in the modeling world. Life was coming to a screeching halt and there was not much he could do to save it. He had burned a lot a bridges, and his drinking habit and tardiness was not helping.

Receiving a terrifying call from his estranged sister had him racing toward the once place he had vowed never to return. With a drama filled new boyfriend, a fashion backward assistant and no idea why he was allowing himself to suffer, Tim found himself in Nebraska and wondering how the hell he got roped into it.

The one bright part of the trip was seeing his ex college roommate and lover again. Even though years had passed nothing had changed and Tim found himself running from the same situation he had been in years prior. He found himself stating once again: "I'm not going to live my life in the closet, Devon."

Would Tim be able to stand firm for all he believed and wanted? Would life remain the same? Juggling two boyfriends was hard. What happened when the truth was spilled and Tim's life was on the line?

With frequent flashbacks to give the readers an idea of Devon's and Tim's past relationship, the author handled both relationships with a realist quality. I loved the secondary players and how their influences and words coaxed Tim into being a better man.

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

I have mixed feelings about Tim and Devon's story. I had a hard time relating to Tim's character. I felt that he was selfish, and self centered. It made it hard to root for Devon and Tim to be together when I all I wanted to do was tell Devon to run far far away. The writing was spot on...the story flowed perfectly and there were no awkwardness or horrifying grammar errors. The supporting characters were fantastic...loved Marlene and Tammy!! I just couldn't get past the fact that Tim let Andrew and Devon on in a sense. And I definitely didn't like that Tim was cheating on them both even though Devon knew about it...I mean who would be okay with knowing that essentially they are a side piece smh.

Even though this book wasn't for me at all....it was well written that others might enjoy and I would recommend it to those readers.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I went into this thinking it would be about reconnecting with long lost love and finding yourself. What I didn't expect was cheating....like a lot of cheating. All one-sided. And all without one ounce of Tim feeling bad for it....like it was normal behavior. And Devon never expressed any concerns about it even after he decided to spend his life with Tim. How can there be trust after a start like that? This story definitely did have its good points, hence the three stars. But I really feel there should be a warning in the blurb about the cheating since some readers don't want to read that. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Got ARC for a honest review.

The cover and the description pulled me into wanting to read the story. Right off the bat the Tim character makes me not like him. The more I read the more I hate him. I know this is a ARC book but I found myself getting confused on some of the writing. Like Andrew Tanner in some spots you call him Andrew or Tanner and at first made me think there was two people there. Among not liking Tim and some others things. I find the book was not for me.

Thank you for letting me read your story.
