In this adventurous short story, April Chandler wakes up to find her side of town has flooded, and her apartment is waist deep in lake water. She can't imagine a worse predicament; she hates the water.
But she must get her three dogs, her parakeet, a lost cat, and a stranded neighbor and his ornery dog to safety without capsizing a rickety rowboat. Because of her special way with animals, April keeps the passengers calm and learns that blessings can come out of devastating circumstances.
