The sign said Evansville, exit 23a off the highway. It was here that you were able to see a town of characters fighting the struggle, and how everyone’s making their way thru life trying their best to break the cycle.
Over time it had grown to be a wild environment. With gentrification creeping in, the cost of living here’s going up as the chance of living here’s going down. You learned early to either accept broke days, or find a way to overcome them.
I dont usually write reviews, but I was sad to see there wasn't any others.
I thought this was a great read. It's not my world, but its consistent with what I've observed growing up in old, underdeveloped, and overloved neighborhoods.
The duality of how our larger homes can both be at risk of dissolving into modernity, but still act as a self-perpetuating glue-trap to the people it raised.
This was very well written, and very succinct in conveying it's themes.
