Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They’re sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate to, you’ll be begging to enter their circle of friends!

In HEARTS at SEASIDE...
Jenna Ward is vivacious, spontaneous, and confident—except when she’s around the man who stole her heart years earlier, strikingly handsome, quiet, and reliable Pete Lacroux. After years of trying to get his attention and overwhelmed from dealing with her mother’s new cougar lifestyle, Jenna’s giving up on Peter—and is ready to explore other men.

As the eldest of five siblings, with an alcoholic father to care for, boat craftsman Pete Lacroux always does the right thing and has no time for a real relationship. He’s looking forward to seeing his friend Jenna, a welcome distraction who’s so sexy and painfully shy that she equally entertains and confuses him.

When Jenna picks up a hard-bodied construction worker, jealousy ignites Pete’s true feelings, and he’s unable to ignore the desires for Jenna he never realized he had. But Pete’s not the quiet guy he appears to be, and his life is anything but conducive to a relationship. Can Jenna handle the real Pete Lacroux—the most alpha male she’s ever seen—or will she crack under pressure? And can Pete reclaim the life he once had without tearing apart his family?

I sooo love the unrequited love trope. I think it's always been my favorite. Addison Cole ( aka Melissa Foster) knows exactly how to tap into the many emotions that accompany it; the longing, the rejection, the hopelessness. She also knows what it takes to get through it, and with Hearts At Seaside and she gives us a wonderful story of presumed unrequited love. In this story, unrequited love is fostered by the friendship between our two main characters, Jenna and Peter. These two are part of the crew that spend their summers in Cape Cod, circling each other and developing a mutual, but hidden, attraction.

When the story opens, we quickly learn that Jenna is feeling motivated to move past her feelings for Peter. After a few years of pining over him, it seems obvious to her he doesn't feel anything more than friendship for her. She does what any girl would do, and well it works perfectly and makes for a fun and sweet read. By 35% in, I knew Pete was a keeper and I thoroughly understood her affection for him. It would be pretty hard to get over him, but it turns out Peter's not so oblivious to Jenna. Her quirks are endearing and a perfect match for him.

These two are challenged by assumptions and poor communications, family obligations, and what might happen after Jenna's vacation time on the Cape ends. They are surrounded by friends who help them work through their missteps and relationship fears, but mostly this is low drama and a heartfelt love story. Another win by Addison Cole and a book I highly recommend as feel good beach read!

Heart at Seaside by Addison Cole was a beautifully written and heartfelt read.

I loved watching Jenna and Pete's relationship develop. I enjoyed their interactions, they made me laugh, at times they frustrated me but overall they made my heart swoon with their love.
These two entertained me all throughout the book and totally believed in their love.

Hearts at Seaside (Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers) (Volume 3) Addison Cole knows what it means to be binge worthy. She takes the most beautiful moments, adds humor and an edge of heat and makes for a highly addictive series. Hearts at Seaside examines the emotions that make us human and the lessons we learn from them. How is it that Jenna, a woman fearless in spirit, loses some of her spark when a certain man crosses her path? What makes a strong personality like, Pete afraid to take a risk? Between parents in crisis, matchmaking friends and the fear of a storm called love, this group has nowhere to go but up. When an author allows a reader to forget the everyday hassle and get lost for a little while, that is something worth holding on to.

Audiobook Review:

No matter how many times I read Hearts at Seaside it continues to grab at my heart. Great characters, a beautiful story and a few lessons in life along the way. This time around I decided to try a little audio stimulation, to maybe experience romance in a different way. What I found is a deeper connection. Melissa Moran breathes new life into words that were already practically leaping off the page. There are also parallels between Jenna and Pete's uncertainties and the lives of their parents. Audio puts a different spin on beloved tale.

Hearts at Seaside is a wonderful friends- to-lovers romance which features Jenna Ward and Peter Lacroux. Jenna has decided that this is her summer. She is determined to set aside her five –year crush on Pete Lacroux and find her true love. Pete cares for Jenna deeply but, he has family issues which take up all of his free time. He’s truly torn between his desire for Jenna and his personal obligations. Addison Cole creates a thoughtful, well written novel filled with humor and compassion for this couple.
Pete learns that Jenna is going to meet a guy at the Beachcomber nightclub. He decided to check in on Jenna just to make sure she’s okay. Loved Jenna’s reaction when she became aware that Pete was checking up on her and maybe a little bit jealous -she was surprised and nervous! Despite plenty of mixed signals between the couple, their chemistry sizzled! I was hoping someone or something would push this couple together! At Bella’s suggestion, Jenna calls Pete when there’s a problem with the hot water in her cottage. Jenna ran into Pete wearing only a towel and then the towel dropped to the floor—leaving a wet, naked Jenna in Pete’s arms!
The characters of Jenna and Pete are multi-faceted and different from the other couples in the series. Jenna is an artist and she has OCD. Everything from the rocks which decorate her porch railings to her baskets of flip flops are arranged just so in her cottage. Pete is a talented boat builder who is quietly dealing with his father’s alcoholism. The author chooses to have this couple create a “foundation of trust” during the storyline. Jenna and Pete are very open and honest with each other and as their relationship progresses the trust between them deepens. Kudos to Addison Cole for addressing several social issues and the impact that these concerns have on family and friends in this novel. Dreaming at Seaside is a fabulous story of a man and a woman who have faced challenges and have found passion, friendship and love!

Great beach read....especially since it is set in a beachside town!

Jenna has been crushing on Pete for years. Pete has noticed her but it takes her asking another guy out to spur him into action. Typical guy move IMHO! But I do like that he realized that Jenna is someone he wanted to pursue and get to know better and wasn't going to let her get taken by another man. And the chemistry between the two could set off smoke alarms.

But there is more to this story than just a romance - it is also dealing with grief of losing a parent, whether it is to death or divorce, grief is grief and Jenna and Pete both have to deal with parents that are not handling it well. At first they want to handle it on their own and keep it close, as if it was a dirty secret. But I liked that they both learned something from each other and their respective situations - relationships is more than just physical and you have to connect in many other ways as well.

The 4 friends also have a close bond and are there for each other even in the middle of the night! Thankfully the men in the picture understand and respect their friendship.

One other thing that I appreciate is that the sex is behind closed doors. There is a lot that leads up to it and you know where it is going, but it is not spelled out for you. I prefer that as I can leave it the details up to my imagination.

This is the 3rd in a series so I am guessing the first two books are Leanna and Bella's stories since they have their men. Amy will be book 4 and we already know who she will end up with.

Before reading this story please read the below books first
Read, Write, Love at Seaside (Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers, #1)
Dreaming at Seaside (Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers #2)

Jenna has loved Pete for years. But he treats her as a friend and shows no interest in changing the relationship. So, she has finally decided he is not going to love her and feels she needs to move on. When she tries to connect with a guy who she should be able to love, she still cannot turn off her attraction to Pete. What’s a girl to do? Pete is a natural protector and caregiver. Oldest of five siblings he is a master at taking care of people. But has he taken care of Jenna? Just when Jenna moves on he decides to finally notice her. Is he too late to win her? Has she truly given up on him?

The story was full of sweet moments. I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

Cheers to another heart warming story about the girls of Seaside, with Jenna Ward marveling at Pete's awesomeness but can't seem to talk whenever he's around. I love their cat-and-mouse relationship, where one can't stop thinking about the other while also trying to stay away from that other person.

And as usual, Jenna's loyal friends are there to cheer her up and support her decisions, even when she always makes a fool of herself by getting involved with the construction guy instead of pursuing the one who makes her knees weak and gives her the zing in between kisses. The slow progression of Jenna and Pete's smoldering relationship is just the right amount of romance I'm looking for. Plus the issues about their broken mom and dad was just too heartfelt. I wanted to console Neil, Pete's father during his alcohol-laden episodes, I can't help but cry with him over his loss. That ending though.. It was perfect, like everything I've ever imagined for Jenna and Pete.

Love love love this Hearts at Seaside!

Jenna has taken refuge in Seaside escaping from her mother's new found wild side, and this is the year that Jenna will get over Pete and find her incredible love. Jenna thinks her mind has been made up, but every time Pete is around her, she turns into a shy awkward teen that can't express her feelings.

Pete loves the confidence that surrounds Jenna, however anytime Pete is near Jenna, her confidence seems to disappears. Pete is convinced that Jenna doesn't have feelings for him, and he is wasting his time, pining for her. But the thought that another man could be in Jenna's life is too much to handle.

I saw myself in Jenna. You have feelings for a guy for so long and your body reacts whenever you're in close proximity, but your mind and mouth betray you. It obvious to most that there's attraction, but you doubt what you see.

Addison Cole has perfected the “feel-good romance” novel. A fabulous Author who has a delightful and encompassing style of writing.
Jenna is a character who readers could be best friends with….she is fun and an overall genuine person.
This novel will leaving you rooting for Jenna and Pete’s relationship. Although they’ve known one another for a long time, there is still so much for them to discover about one another.
I’m looking forward to her next novel! Highly recommend it!!!

I could not wait to read this book. Ever since I read the first two books in this series I was hooked. In this book we meet Jenna and Pete. Jenna is a outgoing and super funny. She has had a major crush on Pete who seems to be oblivious about his feelings. It's not until he sees her talking to another guy that he realizes what he feels. I loved Pete he is a kind and loyal man. Because of problems in their own life both of them feel like they are too damaged to love. Do you want to know if they are able to overcome the obstacles? Then you gotta read this book!

This book was a rough start but got better as it went along. Every summer for years Jenna watched Pete from afar. Always too afraid but this summer it's different. Now with the help of friends they get their chance. However, Pete's dad is dealing with alcoholism. Thankfully everything works out in the end and they get their happy ending.

MY THOUGHTS
The author gives us a fun, clean read with a little heat here and there. Friends with cottages at Cape Cod get together every summer for some fun and relaxation. They are far from perfect, just ordinary people with all the baggage everyone else has. You immediately want to be at Cape Cod and joining in the fun.

This is book three of a series all with the same characters. In this book of the series we have Jenna Ward. She is full of vim and vigor and she feels good about herself. But as usual, we have life, and life for her goes a bit astray when she is around her one man. That man being extremely easy on the eyes, rather reserved Pete Lacroux. He had her heart and he broke it. She had tried hard to get him to notice her romantically but after years of trying, she gave up on Peter. She began looking at other men.

Peter with other obligations felt he didn't have time for any romance in his life but Jenna was always a welcome distraction. No romantic interest, just friends? Until she finds a buff, sexy construction worker. Now this was enough to make Peter straighten up and take note. He's beginning to realize he has feelings, not just friendship, for Jenna. But Peter isn't quite what he appears to be, there's more there, much more.

The author gives us a romantic read that brings characters that you can relate to. Haven't most of us wanted to be with someone who just didn't notice us? That's what happened to Jenna. And haven't we all known someone who was so intent on his own life, he didn't take time to notice someone cared and wanted to get to know you better? The author starts you out thinking Peter is this quiet, shy guy, but then, makes you wonder kind of man he really is. The author put just enough spice in this story without taking the sweetness away. You could actually place yourself in Jenna's shoes. You may have been there, just as she is.

The story flows nicely and at a steady pace. It's a fun and relaxing read. The characters are well described and they are like people you may or may have known, perhaps even yourself. The setting of Cape Cod couldn't be more than perfect. Imagine being at the seaside with friends, relaxing, enjoying and yet, the baggage is still there. It never goes away.

I received a copy of this book from the author and PUYB and voluntarily decided to review it.

Jenna Ward is spending some quality time with her friends. Pete Lacroux just needs a wake up call. The way our author has written this story makes you feel as if you are sitting amongst friends having a good time and just enjoying yourself. And if you need a good laugh they’ll do that for you too.

As I was reading, and getting lost in a really great beach read, Jenna says something to Pete that resonates with me. I made a choice that she has decided that maybe they both need to think about. It’s something we don’t think about growing up and don’t realize sometimes until it’s too late. Would I do it all over again if given the chance? Without hesitation.

Our author has written a series that takes place in my state of residence. She has shown me how much I need to get out and explore more of what it has to offer. I don’t usually visit the Cape during the summer because of all the traffic and how long it takes to get places. But who’s to say that I can’t go off-season. Some things she mentions, as part of the scenes she wrote, I checked to see if they were true or not – got to start thinking about my itinerary. There is a pier but some of the other things seem to be creative license by our author but they are things that could actually take place. But if you look up things to do there are some things similar.

It’s a place that is now on my bucket list. And I can see myself taking this series with me, staking out my stretch of beach, and getting lost amongst friends. The story also reminds me that sometimes our parents will drive us nuts but we still love them – and how much we drove them nuts and they still love us. In a way it’s sad because we still think of them as parents no matter how old we/they get. But they have feelings just like we do – this story shows how hard it is to dissolve that invisible line.

As I got toward the end of this story our book friends reminded me of something that I missed. Jenna’s story is book three in the series but somehow I missed Bella’s. So since these books could be read as standalones I can go back at any time so that I don’t miss the adventures these women are going to take me on. I can’t wait for the next escapade.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

"Too stinkin’ adorable." Pete Lacroux's thoughts on Jenna Ward.

The third in Addison Cole's Sweet with Heat Seaside Summer's Series is a heart melting friends to lovers story.
Sexy, sweet, vivacious Jenna Ward has loved local handyman Pete LaCroux for as long as she can remember. This summer she is tired of being in the friend zone, when all of her Seaside Girls seem to be moving on with life, finding themselves and true love.
Pete has always had the hots for blond bombshell Jenna, but is comfortable with their friendship because every time he thinks that he is showing that he is interested, she turns from her loud, giggly outgoing self, into a quiet squeaky mouse that can't seem to look at him.
This story shows the highs and lows of two people wanting more of each other , yet not knowing how to come together at the same time to express it.
Jenna decides that this will be her summer of change. Determined to find a man that will notice her, and give her that first Kiss that comes with the ever longed for Zing, Jenna picks up a construction worker and decides that he will be the one.
All of a sudden after all of these years Pete cannot understand why she would take notice of someone else when he has been here all along. He is more determined than ever up get her to want him and no one else. Family challenges and dynamics get in the way, but they eventually find their way to each other and to that first kiss that isn't necessarily a zing, but “It was more of a ZING, POW, BAM!”
The descriptions in this storyline help to draw you in and hold you. You can't read fast enough because you want to know what happens next, but at the same time you want to read slower and savor all the feelings that you feel and scenes that you see in your head.
I would recommend this book to my friends that like friends to lovers stories, and to anyone that wants that sweet story but only a hint of the heat and flames that comes with a steamy novel. Each book in this series is a stand alone, but you have to read them all, they get better as each new one is introduced.

This summer, Jenna Ward is looking for love, and while she has had a specific person in mind for years, one Peter Lacroux, he's, so far, not been receptive to her pining. Well, this year, Jenna is not waiting for Pete to come around, she's going to date.

Pete has always been attracted to Jenna, but he's never thought she felt the same way about his. While his attraction to Jenna has never been a problem, he's never tried to progress their friendship futher due to some familial problems he's been dealing with for a few years now. He doesn't want to put Jenna in the middle. But when he sees her out with another man, and the jealousy that ensues, he knows his time of waiting is over.

Being the third book of the series, I really like the established characters we've gotten and I enjoy seeing our core group get their Happily Ever Afters. Melissa Moran has been a wonderful narrator. I love that each of the women (Jenna, Bella, Leanna, and Amy) have their own distinct voices and that Melissa Moran has kept these throughout. I will say, however, that the male voices are tending to run a little together. I don't pretend to know how a voice actor goes about their job with the different pitches and inflections, especially when narrating for someone of the opposite sex, but I'd love it if all the men didn't sound alike.

So far, I've really enjoyed this series. I love how Addison Cole keeps adding more layers to the characters. Giving them more to cope with and triumph over by the end. Jenna and Pete were an especially wonderful pairing because their story was somewhat teased in the previous book in the series. I liked how Hearts at Seaside brought up more of the fact that these friends and this group is only at Seaside during the summer, I wish that we'd get a bit more of a glimpse at their everyday lives and how they move that over to the Cape each summer.

The setting continues to be so vivid and delightful. As I'm reading this book, we're on the precipice of fall (almost) and it's nice to envision the beach and summer sun.

I can't wait to continue reading about and growing this group of friends.

I have become a fan of Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers books with their memorable characters that represent normal people with real life problems, vivid world building with cozy beaches and quaint cottages in a small seaside town and most importantly, engaging storylines that leave me feeling the magic of romance and eager to start the next book!

Hearts at Seaside is Jenna's story and I have to confess I had been intrigued by her right from the first book, Read, Write, Love at Seaside. Jenna is a strong, independent woman except when she is around Pete whose presence leaves her tongue tied. Having loved him from afar, only to have him ignorant of her feelings, things take an interesting turn when Jenna decides to move on.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it was so brave of Jenna to move on when her heart had been set on Pete for so long. The scenarios involving the whole "moving on" are through and through entertaining and had me laughing as well as cringing. Pete's character had me respecting him and then also wanting to smack him for wasting so much time in realising his true feelings and living his life. His character's journey teaches us that responsibilities dont mean we stop living our life.

Both Pete and Jenna became my favourite and had me rooting for a happily-ever-after for them.

The writing is engrossing and the story well paced. We get to meet characters from the previous books and it was satisfying to see them living their happily-ever-after.

Despite being part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone. However, it is always better to read books in order.

This series has no explicit sex scenes but does involve plenty of innuendos and teasing glimpses of incoming sex between the characters.

All in all, Hearts at Seaside by Allison Cole is another funny and entertaining romance, an ideal beach read. 4.5 stars out of 5 to it from me and recommended to all romance lovers. I look forward to reading the upcoming books from the author and recommend this series to everyone.

Jenna & Pete have known each other for several years. Jenna summers at the beach & Pete does repairs & takes care of the pool at her complex. He agreed to the job when he was just starting out & has really outgrown the job but keeps it so he can see Jenna. The chemistry between them is intense but he's afraid he'll scare her off & be too intense for her. He just can't stand to see her with anyone else. She seems to be aggressive with other men so why is she shy & quiet with him? Could she really handle him? Could they have a relationship?

Jenna has been lusting over Pete forever. Her attraction is so intense she goes mute or stumbles over her words with him. He doesn't act like he's interested so she decides this year she's over him. No more pining for him. She starts going out with Chris but there's no zing. However with Pete, wowsa!

"When I was clutching him for dear life, buck naked..." She drew in a deep breath. "I didn't feel a zing." Bella was putting a chunk of cookie dough in her mouth, and she stopped with her hand in the air. "What?" "It was more of a ZING, POW, BANG!"

This story has it all! Friendship, attraction, jealousy, love, humor, sarcasm.... I could go on & on! Ms. Foster has a knack for writing series books that are good as a stand alone but are fantastic when read as the series with the added insights garnered from the other books. The girls are supportive of each other no matter what. The men learn to get along with the girls & their significant others because the men aren't coming between them. I loved the detail & humor put into the relationship between Jenna & Pete. I could see a lot of the relationship between my fiancé & I in this one. Jenna is not a stick thin model but has a curvy size. Instead of automatically having her character be a total futz, Ms. Foster has her being OCD which goes against stereotypes. This was another good read in a great series!

There was just something primal about Pete. To see him contained yet unleashed was different. This friends-to-lovers as sweet, warming, and well written to include the dramas of life but on a tamer side of things. The things one deals with when family life is not all perfect but comes with its imperfections.

Jenna was my reason for falling head over heels for this one. She was the one to be even when she was weighed down with all she had to deal with. Pete was the one thing she wanted but was feeling the loss of him with each encounter they had. The closer he was. The further he went. She just did not know what else to do, so what's a girl to do. Well, get yourself another man to pay attention to. Jenna loved one man and it just did not feel right for her to give up on the possibility of him. But that's how it happens. Pete was a man with the world on his shoulders and then he gets a big dose of reality when Jenna is no longer Jenna. She has become so much more and that's when he see her for more. I loved these two. I see where communications between the two could have changed so much for them but then would there have been a story.

Jenna and Pete loved each other as friends. Both wanted more neither knew how to proceed forward. Jenna no longer wanting to wait to be noticed as a possible option for Pete. She decides to move on with her life. One sexy construction worker jolts life back in to Pete and the way that he sees Jenna.

Jenna and Pete’s journey to finding each other turns in to an emotional, humorous, character filled, well written read. Love romance. Want less heat but still get a good romance. Pick up the third installment of the Seaside Summers: Sweet with Heat series.

Melissa Moran is back with this installment and she makes me fall for all the characters over again. She brings them all to life and make you feel like they are all old friends. Now that I have them all, its time to go back to the beginning and listen to them all again.

I think this is the best one thus far in this series. Why? These two have danced around one another. Jenna gets tongue tied around Pete making Pete confused. Pete isn’t sure what Jenna feels but he is afraid to let anyone in his life with all he has going one. there is attraction and chemistry up the wazoo...

Both are dealing with Parents who need to grow. For Pete he needs to show his dad that he loves him but cannot be his enabler anymore. That he wants him to have a life and live. He wants him around to be there for when he has children to help guide them. For Jenna she needs to see her mom is going through a phase but also show her mom that she was awesome just as she was.

Both are responsible and caring. Honest and sweet. Pete boy does he have a alpha side though. And when he is with his siblings you aww at the protectiveness towards his sis. He is this way with Jenna and her friends as well.

I love how Jenna stirs up Pete to get him to see what he feels and doesn’t give in right away but makes him sweat a little. These two were adorable together. They helped one another, supported one another and were each others strength and best friends. They respected each other and were good for one another. They didn’t try to hide the tough stuff but helped each other through them.

Their friends were awesome as well. Very supportive and fun to have around. this was a feel good story of friendship and love. Of growth and finding strength and support with someone. A story that deals with some tough issues in a way that has you feel for what the characters are going through but also see the strength of the characters and how they are there for one another and help the other to do what they need to. A nice book to curl up with and get lost in the sweet romance and fun times.

Hearts at Seaside is another book in the Seaside Summers series by Addison Cole. The books center around a group of friends who spend the summers in Wellfleet MA. I have enjoyed the first books in the series and I have to say, this one has been my favorite so far.

Jenna is a sweet loveable girl who has mooned over Peter Lacroux for years. She is outgoing and fun loving but when she gets around Pete, she suddenly turns shy. Jenna is a bit OCD... she organizes her clothes and shoes by color, she collects a different kind of rock each summer and they have to be just "so" and her toasted marshmallows have to be the perfect "golden brown."

Pete is a boat builder and all-round handyman. He loves spending time with the girls at the cottages they all live in but he looks forward especially to seeing Jenna. He has noticed how shy she becomes around him and can’t quite understand it.

Jenna has decided that this summer she is going to forget Pete since he has not made a move and she is going to have a fling with someone else. She tests the waters with a construction worker she meets but soon realizes that she just can’t do it… her heart belongs to Pete.

Both Pete and Jenna are dealing with family crises this summer… Pete’s father is sinking deeper and deeper into alcoholism and Jenna’s mother is dealing with a midlife crisis of her divorce by acting and by dressing half her age. These issues could be stumbling blocks in their relationship and how they deal with them is an underlying theme to this book.

I like "friends to lovers" stories and this one is a good one. Pete and Jenna belong together and their story is a sweet one (with some heat thrown in for good measure!) Take time to visit the gang at Wellfleet.. you will be glad you did!

Pete and Jenna have been friends forever, both want to be more, but of course neither of them knows how to take that next step to turn the relationship to something more. Jenna is such a fun and endearing character during this entire book with Pete. She is super outgoing and bubbly when she is with her friends, but when she is with Pete, she turns shy and can barely look him in the eyes because of the feelings she has for him.

Pete has so much on his plate as it is. Life has not been fair to him, and he struggles with the idea of tying to take things with Jenna to the next level because it could potentially ruin things with their friendship. He also just isn't sure he can handle a relationship on top of everything else going on in his life. However, when Jenna decides she is done waiting around for her Mister Right, and chooses a sexy construction worker to help her out, a switch flips in Pete, and he cannot sit back and watch Jenna be with anyone else.

These two were great together! When they FINALLY give in to their feelings, their relationship blooms into something explosive and just perfect for the two of them.

Melissas Moran did a phenomenal job yet again of bringing these two characters to life and totally pulling you into the story from the get go. I really enjoyed the audio book version of this story because the narrator didn't rush things throughout. She went at a pace that was perfect for the story, and allowed you totally immerse yourself in the book from start to finish.

Highly recommend this book, especially the Audible Version if you are looking for a fun, sweet, summer beach read!

Jenna Ward has been Hot For Handyman, Pete Lacroux for years. Though every time she talks to him she clams up. (She is one of 4 Best Girlfriends - 'The Seaside Girls' who summer at The Cape every year.) She is a Rhode Island School Art Teacher. Jenna is the one with OCD tendencies and in one way is a rock collector who chooses a different shape/color every year that everyone on The Cape helps her collect. Everyone knows about her Rock Collections since they sit all over the place at her Cottage.
Jenna decides to date a Construction Worker because she has given up on Pete showing any actual Love interest in her. Pete wonders how she can be so brazen with other men when she shakes like leaf in a storm any time she is near him. They both have strong feelings for one another but don't realize that the other does as well. He also doesn't want any one to find out how his Father has turned to Alcohol after the death of his Mother.
Join in this summertime romance to find out if Jenna will stay with the construction worker Charlie and continue to clam up around Pete? Or will she finally feel brave enough to let Pete know her true feelings?
These books in this series all stand alone. I personally like to follow this series in order so I can follow along with how all the girls grow and change year to year.
I received a copy of this book through Beck Valley Books, Book Tours and chose to review it after I read it. I was not compensated in any way for this review, nor was I asked to give a positive review.

I've loved Jenna's character since the beginning of the Seaside Summer series. Between being funny and quirky, she's just always been a great, outgoing woman. It was great to see her so empowered as she decided it was time to give up on Pete, but it was still obvious that she loved him and had loved him for years.

I learned a lot more about Pete in this novel, especially the private struggles he's endured with his family. But I also learned about Pete's sexy, jealous, adorable side that made me fall in love with yet another book character!

Addison Cole's Seaside Summer series is described as "sweet with heat," but once again I can assure you that there is plenty of heat in Hearts at Seaside and the chemistry between Pete and Jenna is incredible.

Besides being a romance, this novel is also based on friendship, family, and overcoming struggles with the help of those we love and trust. The friendship between Leanna, Jenna, Bella, and Amy is amazing and inspiring, reminding you of the importance of friends. And the way the men accept and love all of these women despite their crazy bond and crazy ways, is fantastic.

Hearts at Seaside is written beautifully with the characters perfectly balanced between simple and complex. Although the main story is Jenna and Pete, there are several subplots that just enhance the beauty of this novel. Addison Cole has once again blown me away and I cannot wait to read the next installment in the series!

**Many thanks to Addison Cole and Beck Valley Tours for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

This one almost felt like it had two sections – the first part of the book is spent with Pete & Jenna dancing around each other with quite a few misunderstandings. They’ve been doing this for a while because both have had feelings for the other but Jenna always freezes up and loses her mojo near Pete which means he isn’t sure what she feels for him.

Once things come to a head though Pete can’t let it go any longer and decides to make a move … and it’s almost a comedy of errors from there :) It both frustrates and entertains me, which is an indication of how good of a writer Cole is. I’ve DNF’d quite a few books that just frustrated me with this kind of push/pull but here it really works. It’s believable for them to get themselves into these situations and Cole does a great job of getting them back around to where they should be.

Once they get together it becomes a bit more of a woman’s fiction kind of thing. There really isn’t a lot of drama about the couple themselves and move smoothly into being together. Instead they each have some family issues they need to address – Pete has an alcoholic father who isn’t willing to own up to his issues and Jenna’s mom is having problems adjusting to her status as a divorcee. But together they are better able to handle their problems, with support and insight for the other. It adds such a wonderfully real feeling to their story and makes them even more human.

Hearts At Seaside: Sweet with Heat Seaside Summers by Addison Cole
Narrated by Melissa Moran
]
This is the second audiobook I've listened to narrated by the extremely capable Melissa Moran.

Super sweet and sexy Jenna Ward has been in love with local handyman, uber hunk and friend Pete LaCroux for what seems like forever. For as friendly and outgoing as Jenna is, she's completely tongue-tied around Pete.

Pete has secretly harbored similar feelings for Jenna, but whenever he's close to her she doesn't appear interested. This unfortunately makes Pete think she's not interested in him as anything more than a friend. He also has some big family issues that stop him from having someone permanent in his life.

This summer Jenna finally admits defeat and gives up on Pete. If he isn't interested in her, she's going to finally move on. Determined to prove to herself she can get a man Jenna picks up a construction worker while Pete stews watching.

Is this the wake-up call Pete needed? Can he solve his family issues so he can start living his own life with the woman he loves? Will Jenna resolve her own family issues?

This friends to lovers story is decidedly sweet with heat. You'll love to revisit the Seaside Girls and listen to Pete and Jenna find their way to their own happily ever after.

As always Addison Cole (Melissa Foster) does a wonderful job of weaving the story with just the right amount of love, romance and heart. Melissa Moran brings these amazing characters to life. You won't be disappointed!

Hearts at Seaside is one of the sweet series by Addison Cole. In this book we follow the story of Jenna Ward, she’s a smart, spontaneous, confident women but not when she’s around Pete Lacroux.

Pete is a handsome, sexy, quiet guy who Jenna lost her heart to years ago. Jenna’s spent years trying to get his attention to no avail.

Lately life has been tough for Pete, he’s the eldest of 5 children and since his mother has passed away his father has struggled. Pete’s a great guy and take care of his alcoholic father and that leaves no time for a relationship.

He loves summer in the Cape as that’s when his friends arrive and he’s looking forward to seeing Jemma, who he finds to be hot and sexy but also very shy around him.

So this year she’s decided it’s time to finally give up on Peter and find someone else. By doing this Jenna has finally got Pete’s attention. This ignites a jealousy in Pete and finally he’s unable to hide his attraction to Jemma.

With the problems in Pete’s life is he able to find the time for Jemma? Can Jemma handle the real Pete? Will the pressures of Pete’s father cause them problems? Will Jemma and Pete get their happily ever after that they both deserve?

If you like lovely sweet romance stories with twists and turns, minus the hot sex scenes then you will love this book as well as the other books in this sweet romance series by Addison Cole.
