This one-shot was made up of three stories. In order,

Moose vs. the Vending Machine (1/5): If it had more funny moments, it might have been worth having Moose come across as stupid and Midge come across as a nag. But overall, it wasn't the humorous piece it was trying to be.

Have It All (5/5): Y'alllllll, this is what the New Riverdale series are all about. They take a character that's been an archetype for so long and turn it on its head. We really understand Moose and how he's fighting against what people think of him, why he has to be tough, why he tries so hard to not be seem as simple (plus, I loved the detail in his narration where he described dyslexia without realizing that that's a condition he has!), and how worth it it is for him to achieve it all. Plus, the art was fun and well done.

The Big Difference (4/5): Ok, I loved this one. It was silly and simple. (Without spoilers) Jughead had to play the bad guy, but in a way that is so common. The final page had one panel that really stole my heart. So good.

3 stories all centered around Moose. Very different from how the tv show, Riverdale portrays him. Seems more like an All American guy in this issue. Cute stories.

I like with the modern imaginings of Archie comics that the side characters are getting more attention. I can't recall many Moose-centric stories back in my childhood. The stories were primarily centered around Archie and Reggie conflicts. The Big Moose in this one-shoot is more of a B/C student in place of the failing lunkhead usually portrayed in the comics. In fact, Moose has the potential to be an A student if he weren't so bogged down with football, family, social obligations, errands, and school. You could say that about plenty of teens to be sure! Moose is still a little too possessive of his girlfriend, Midge, and in 2017, I think that old characteristic has permission to die out.

I loved this one-shot! Each of the stories was heart-warming, cute, and funny. I loved getting to know Big Moose better as each of the stories centers on him and his world. We see his relationships with Midge, with his friends, his teammates, and with his family members. Probably my favorite story is "Have it All," in which Moose struggles with one of the busiest weeks in his life. He wants to do well in school, give Midge a memorable anniversary, help his family, and contribute to the football team. Seeing him get through the week was both entertaining and encouraging. I wish there were more Archie Comices like this one!

I've always really liked Moose's character so I was excited this one shot. "Have it All" was my favorite of the three; I enjoyed seeing this side of Moose
