The roar of flames fills the night as newspaper columnist KC Adams, on assignment as a fire lookout, barely escapes with her life. A daring rescue finds her and firefighter Nick Evans fleeing the mountain with seconds to spare. Literally tested by fire, her faith in God is renewed. In the aftermath, Nick and KC work together to unlock the mysteries of an old diary she found hidden in the lookout tower. Written by a young mother, the diary tells the story of a lost love and a baby given up for adoption. Can they uncover the identities of the mother and daughter and reunite them by Christmas? Will she and Nick write their own love story along the way? And will KC’s column turn out to be the Story of the Year?
