Romancing the Bachelor by Diane Alberts was a very entertaining read.

The storyline held my interest, both Eric and Shelby were likable, believable characters that I easily connected with and watching them fall in love filled my heart with happy feels.
These two were going to have a wonderful life together.

ROMANCING THE BACHELOR, the second book in Diane Alberts' new Hamilton Family series starts off great. Shelby's sass and dismissal wasn't what Eric was used to from women. He was hooked and so was I.

Once Eric convinces Shelby to give him a chance to be her "friend" (since neither wants a relationship), after promising her he absolutely will not fall in love with her or ask her to stay in Atlanta with him rather than going for her dream job in a small town. Shelby isn't about to let another man derail her from her dreams. Likewise, Shelby promises Eric she will not be a threat to his beloved bachelor state by falling in love with him.

The book continues in a slow romantic build with plenty of humor and sexy times. The pace really picks up toward the end as Eric and Shelby are torn between their promises to each other, some miscommunication, and the realization that they have indeed fallen in love.

I really enjoyed Romancing the Bachelor and am hoping Wyatt Hamilton's story will be next! 4 stars.

Eric Hamilton has no plan to settle down but when he meets Shelby Jefferson he is smitten. Shelby knows who Eric is, in fact they have been in the same apartment building and she has been court reporter for a few of his cases but he never noticed her until now. Shelby knows Eric is not going to leave her alone until he gets what he wants, her so she turns the table.

There is quite a bit more to this story that I am not going to divulge to not giveaway too much of the plot. This was very good and I liked how they became friends even with the underlying attraction between them. Great romance to read for spring.

I was given this ARC by NetGalley for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book, it had a little bit of everything comedy, romance and steamy scenes. Shelby and Eric's relationship might have started as friends then changed to friends with benefits but it soon became a lot more. It was fun to read how they both struggled to come to terms with the changes in their relationship and the feelings that started to develop for each other. I'm glad that at the end they got their HEA. I hope that a book is written for Wyatt and Cole. I would love to read on how they fall. A must read!

I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book

I definitely enjoyed this one, and I am going back and reading the first book

What I liked most about this book was that it captured your interest from the first page. And it actually copied what happens in a actual relationship.
People meet, they date, they fall in love and that's how its suppose to be

And this story was just that. A nice love romance that you can actually picture happening in real life.

Definitely a book that will have you finishing the book with a #sigh

Eric, a lawyer, is taking time to notice his surroundings. Of course, that's only because he's sitting in a courtroom, waiting on the opposing counsel, who is late, to appear. Later, he'll be attending a family dinner where he thinks Anna, his sister, will be proposed to by her boyfriend, Brett. (See book one, The CEO's Seduction, for their story.) Eric knows Anna will eagerly accept, but marriage isn't something Eric sees for himself. Not only is his life already complicated enough, but he also doesn't really believe that type of love exists. *I object. Permission to treat this character as hostile, fellow readers? LOL Okay, he just hasn't met the one yet.*  Finally, Brian has arriv...that's not Brian at all. She intrigues him and he's now got his next goal already set for himself. He just has to ensure, once he catches her, that she knows it's only temporary. He also knows she looks familiar.

Shelby, a court reporter, hates the city. It's nothing really personal against Atlanta, she's just a country girl at heart. Not to mention, she'd only moved there for a man, one that had ended up cheating on her. Yeah, that's another strike for the place, the bad memories equated with it. She was leaving soon, she hoped, and moving to the country again. She doesn't fit in, knowing she's out of her league, especially where Eric is concerned. Although, he did seem to notice her today, for the first time. Which is ironic considering she's a court reporter, he's a lawyer, and they live in the same building. He's six months behind in his sudden interest. Plus, he has a reputation...and she's seen the proof of it every weekend. The routine is the same, the women just change.

Eric doesn't know what it is about Shelby, but he can't stop thinking about her. He even cancelled his weekend dates. *Gag.* (Yeah, he's really not endearing himself to me.) After Shelby's view on his numerous "guests," he took a look at himself and realized he didn't like the person he'd become. He's just not sure how to fix it.

Shelby, though attracted to him, knows his type and she's been there, done that. She's also aware that he won't accept her flat out refusal for a date, so she decides to try a different tactic. She knows what will push his buttons, and decides to use that to her advantage.

Eric is mesmerized by Shelby. He wants her to see the other side of him, the good guy, and prove he can become an even better one. What he'd usually find annoying with anyone else, is adorable with her.

Abort. Mission failure. Shelby is beginning to see underneath the surface with Eric, and she likes it. Danger. Danger.

As the two agree to an actual friendship, they spend a lot of time together and Shelby sees the true Eric, the man he used to be before he lost himself. Eric, on the other hand, continues to see how special Shelby is. Both are cautious, again agreeing to no relationship, and when Shelby finds a job, leaving the city as she dreams of, Eric will let her go. They won't fall in love. He won't ask her to stay. She won't want to stay. But, as that old cliche goes, the best laid plans...

What happens when both Eric and Shelby fall for one another? What does that mean for Shelby's goals? Will she let a man choose her path again? Or has she realized being with Eric is what she wants and needs? Will Eric ask her to stay, admitting his feelings? Or will he let her go, believing it's the best thing for her? Can these two compromise and begin their future together? Or will they only be left with memories?

One-click now and follow this couple's journey to forever. While there were characteristics of Eric I didn't like, see below, he won me over toward the end, and with his devotion to Shelby. You could tell the depth of his love for her, even if he hadn't acknowledged it yet himself. I am really curious about Cole's story and I hope he's next. Wyatt's, a pro football player, worries me as I fear the manwhore disease will have infected him too.

On a purely personal note, I really wish Eric wasn't portrayed as he was, having different women every weekend, with no repeats. Also, his comment to Shelby, after she's repeatedly turned him down and let him know why, regarding women never turning him down, is tacky. You're trying to get a woman that already knows you're a manwhore to go out with you, so it's not helpful at all to remind her of that, nor does said woman want to hear anything regarding your apparently vast sexual history. It's not heroic, it's gross. I hate when the heroine has seen evidence of the "hero's" sexual life, whether they're together or not. You can't unknow or unsee that information or those visuals.

Romancing the Bachelor is another great entry in the Hamilton Family series. This time it's Eric's (one of Anna's big brothers, from The CEO's Seduction) turn to fall in love. Shelby is the lady in question. She's a court reporter and has been Eric's neighbor for 6 months, but not once during that time has he ever noticed her, or even said one word to her. But, today he's noticing her while he's in the courtroom waiting for opposing counsel, who's late. He notices her because she's got a shorter skirt than she normally wears. Hm, well when he determines he has to introduce himself to this new, beautiful woman, she shoots him down. I loved it! She gives him so much sass and he has no idea what to do with it, as he's never heard the word no before, not from a beautiful woman. She calls him out on his playboy ways. She's seen the endless parade of women that come to his apartment, then leave the next day, never to darken his door again. Yep, Shelby knows better than to get involved with another smooth talking player like the one she had followed here, and who promptly left her practically homeless and broke.

But, Eric is able to convince Shelby that they can just be friends, as neither wants a relationship. She, because she is dying to get out of this big city and find a job in a small town somewhere, and he because he doesn't think he's capable of commitment and love. So, they start off as friends, but it was inevitable that they'd give into the fierce attraction between them. It's a slow burn, but when it catches fire, it's steamy and sexy and soon they're both falling for each other even though they promised each other there would be no falling in love and that when she got a job somewhere else, he'd help her pack and wave goodbye as she left.

I really like both Shelby and Eric. She's sweet and independent and pulled herself out of a really crappy situation. Eric is actually a sweet, kind man behind his playboy façade. They have strong chemistry and it's nice seeing them go from real friendship to more. Their relationship is both easy and sweet, and then sexy, too. And honestly, that's the best way for a relationship to progress, because if you aren't friends with your partner, it's going to be hard to in a relationship with them.

I love seeing the rest of the Hamilton family sprinkled throughout Romancing the Bachelor, especially big brother Wyatt. I'm hoping there's a story coming for him, because he's a really interesting guy.

I received an ARC through NetGalley for an honest review.

I positively just blew through this book. I sat down to read it in the morning and then all of the sudden I was at the end of the book and I have no clue where those hours went. I was completely immersed.

I think what may have drawn me so deep into the book were the characters. Every single thing about Shelby and Eric was absolutely perfect. Shelby is this snarky little spitfire that will just tell you how it is. While this does come off as icy at times, I found myself frequently saying "DAAAAMMMMNNN" and then being jealous that she is so confident that she can just say whatever is on her mind. And Eric ... this man is stubborn and has just enough cockiness to back it up. It was sexy as hell. The poor man is completely oblivious though ... I don't want to tell you why ... it would spoil the surprise but it is definitely eyeroll worthy. I may have even called him an idiot. Both of these characters were just awesome and the further I got into the book, the more I got a kick out of how both of them were painfully blunt. Both of them! It created some definite sparks between them and made the book that much more exciting.

The plot was great, the storyline was awesome. I literally read this book in one sitting and I wish that I didn't plow through it so quickly but I'm a greedy reader. I just couldn't get enough. Now I just need to read the rest of the books in the series because I have a feeling that they are all just as awesome.

Very cute book. I really enjoyed the transformation of the relationship between Shelby Jefferson and Eric Hamilton.
It was cute how they lived in the same apartment building and worked at the same courthouse from time to time. Not to mention Shelby had many a lustful dream about Eric. Yet, he never knew she existed until opposing counsel was late to court as was she.
Shelby was a few steps ahead of Brian the other lawyer Eric was to argue against. When she walked in he lost his breath and maybe even forgot to breathe. He thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and couldn’t figure out why he had never seen her before. Especially, when she went to the stenographer’s seat.
He had to be asked by the judge twice if he was ready. So, once he cleared his head of her, thinking only of his client, he decided he would make a point to talk to her later after court. He went on to win the case. By the time, he talked to his client and Brian he turned to talk to her and she was gone.
He arrives home after being driven in an Atlanta rain storm he makes it to the elevator thankfully. When he enters, he notices a soaking wet woman and it’s her. He engages her in conversation which he isn’t going well at creating. He gives her his coat since she is wearing a white blouse which is see through now. It makes their conversation a little smoother but she points out that they already know each other because they have lived in the same building for over a year or so and he never noticed her or even said hello. Not to mention, why would she want to get involved with him when he has been with a different woman every Friday and Saturday night yet never has she seen one return again.
He doesn’t apologize, he just states he doesn’t do relationships he doesn’t have the time and he likes to relax. See how and what they do with the new-found info about each other. This is about the Hamilton family and how they interact as siblings too. I give this: 5 stars. Provided by netgalley.com.

So I was right ... the Hamilton men are a very entertaining read :)

The best part of this romance story is the actual romance progression. They meet ~ they become friendly ~ they date ~ they fall in love .. That's how it happens in life, mostly lol so I really like it when my stories mirror that and this one did. The progression was slow and sexy and very entertaining. Both Eric and Shelby were strong characters with passion and fortitude. Willing to meet anything thrown at them head on.

If you're looking for a fun sexy afternoon read ... you just found one :)

So very good! I really enjoyed reading this one. It's fun, sexy, and completely entertaining. Eric Hamilton is a hardworking dedicated attorney working on his five year plan. No where in that plan is there time for a woman. Yet when he meets Shelby, a beautiful court reporter, he knows he needs to make time for this woman. Too bad she wants nothing to do with him or any other man.

This is one I recommend to everyone.

Eric knows how to back off when he needs too, “you’re about to tell me to back off. I can see it. Did I come on too strong?” He crossed his arms. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you. Like I said, I don’t play games.” I liked this book, I loved the persistence amd patience Eric had.

Shelby Jefferson has already been hurt by a man and she's not about to fall for a guy similar to the one that broke her heart, so she's determined to resist Eric Hamilton. However, her plan backfires, especially since Eric is a persistent guy that she finds difficult not to like once she gets to know him better. Yet, with her other plan to leave the city and hopefully settle into small town life once she secures a job, will she leave or will history repeat itself by her changing her plans for a man?

After having read the first book of this series, and absolutely loving it due to the Hamilton brothers and the way they were so protective of their sister, I couldn't wait to discover the women that would win the hearts of the gorgeous brothers, and I've got to say that Shelby is a wonderful match for Eric; a man determined to stay focused on his five-year plan, and yet, loves a challenge. The way this story started had me liking the hero immediately, as he's a good lawyer determined to do anything to help his clients win their cases. Except it seems he doesn't need to work his magic much for the case he's in court for, and instead, needs all his suave and persuasiveness to convince the heroine that he's not a spoilt, rich playboy capable of winning over any woman wants.

Both the main characters entertained me from start to finish and the dialogue was a delightful combination of intense due to the main characters back stories, especially the heroine; and playful banter between Eric and Shelby that had me smiling or laughing. Certainly, Shelby's lucky to have caught Eric's attention, and I liked that he kept proving her original assessment of him wrong with everything he does or things he tells her about. Moreover, he's smart, charming and I loved the tight bonds he has with his family. They're always there for each other when one needs advice or just needs someone to listen to their problems, and there are times when Eric needs the support of his brothers or sister. While the heroine, it's understandable why she fears giving another man a chance after what the last guy she was with did. Seriously, she's strong and brave in giving Eric a chance; and the way she was able to pick up the pieces of her life after what her jerk of an ex did, instead of running home to the support her family would gladly offer. I also liked her plans for her future and how she was torn between leaving for the small town life she wanted and staying to be with Eric. Would he want her to stay?

Overall, Ms. Alberts has delivered a fun and delightful read in this book where the romance was hot and Eric made Shelby feel beautiful. The way this story ended had me crying happy tears, as Eric proved how much he wanted Shelby in his life by what he does to be with her. However, it was the epilogue that wrapped this story perfectly, because of this couple's surprise and how it's revealed to Eric's family. That moment had me smiling. I would recommend Romancing the Bachelor by Diane Alberts, if you enjoy second chance romances, the friends to lovers trope or books by authors Avery Flynn, Naima Simone, Victoria Davies or Sarah Ballance.

Well, the synopsis is mostly accurate here, folks. You pretty much get what is promised except for a big notable exception. Shelby, the heroine, didn’t just walk into the hero’s life out of the blue. She had been living and even working in very close proximity to him for several months. Apparently, she just wasn’t worthy of his time or attention until “bam” one day he noticed her short skirt. Yeah, that pretty much sums him up this unapologetic, yet implied he’s a good guy man ho hero’s attention span. She’s had a front row seat to his womanizing ways, which has included a parade of numerous, random other women in and out of his apartment’s front door pretty much every morning.

I’ll give him this. Not only was he upfront and honest about who he was and what he would never want, Shelby had already seen it for herself. She really had no one to blame but herself for getting her heart broke. But this good time Charlie’s come-ons became too tempting, and she stupidly vows to keep her heart out of some steamy, smexy time with him. Of course, he’s vowed to do the same. At 45% though she takes it to a whole new level by telling him it’s OK if he continues to pursue other random woman. Yeah, walking/talking sex on a stick meets stupidity here, folks. They both start living in the land of denial. But, hey, not to worry. At least he doesn’t take her up on that offer.

“Should I do this or not” and “Should I tell her/him how I feel or not” started to become overly tiresome. This couple’s coupling felt more like meaningless quickies than a genuine emotional connection. She can’t believe such a hot guy is into her, and he can’t get over the fact it took him so long to notice her. The hero didn’t come across as overly romantic, as well. Buying flowers once was the only romantic gesture I remember, and she didn’t even get those, folks.

So I’ll end this by saying I wasn’t overly fond of this guy and expected more of him. Frankly, the heroine should have done so, as well. She certainly knew what she was getting into though. At least he came to his senses in the end. It’ll ultimately be up to you to decide if this is your idea of romance.

Title: Romancing the Bachelor, Author: Diane Alberts, Pages: 190, stand-alone, can only blame herself, unapologetic manho hero, breaks her heart, groveling hero, very smexy scenes.

After being at court had a meeting with George, Wallace, and Mark and then he had a consultation with a possible client. Eric didn’t really believe in love and wouldn’t be getting married anytime soon. Eric loved his brothers Cole. Chris and Wyatt even Brett his soon to be brother in law. And his sister Anne. He also had a special place in his heart for his parents. All his life things have come easy for him so he was looking in the shelter one time a week for the last month but hadn’t found the right dog for him. A dog that had went through a lot and needed somewhere safe f0rever place to live. Then the court stenographer or court reporter came in and Eric had an expected pull toward her and he wanted her. She was not what he usually went for and somehow she looked familiar. Shelby had been in Atlanta for two years and hated it , the city just wasn’t for Shelby. Neither were men or romance. Shelby had moved to Atlanta for a man who cheated on her and broke her heart and left her homeless. Shelby had left college and family for George her ex. For everything left it behind her for George. She had been left alone in an unfamiliar city. A lot of people had told her George was no good. But Chelsea stayed and waited tables and worked her way up until she could go back to school. She got good grade. Made a name for herself got a job and succeeded here despite everything. Shelby thought Eric was hot but not for her. Guys like Eric were fun to look at but that’s all. She couldn’t let ruin what she had worked so hard for here in Atlanta. Shelby hadn’t slept with anyone in two year.. Shelby was honest with Eric and said they could only be friends. Eric never had a female friend before. But Shelby wanted Eric really bad.
I adored this romance. It was a short read but had everything it needed for this story. I loved the plot. I loved how Wyatt was there for Eric even though he had never been in love. I loved how Eric was a good person even if he was born of a wealthy family. I love Eric made Shelby go for her dream even if it broke both their hearts. I absolutely loved the ending. A great book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend,

4.5 out of 5

There are several reasons why I got this book. Once again the shallow reason is the first one. The cover model reminds me of Oliver Hudson, who I think is very cute. Google it, you will see what I mean. Secondly, the price was right, and, thirdly, the story sounded cute.

And this is a really cute story. That’s the best word I can think of, and cute just hit the spot when I was reading it.

Eric is a very career-driven lawyer and doesn’t really come out of the lawyer cloud much. He does one day, though, and happens to notice the court reporter, Shelby, and decides he wants to get to know her better. The problem is Shelby is well aware of who Eric is. In fact, they live in the same building and he’s never really noticed her before. But she has noticed the parade of attractive women he brings to his apartment and is less than impressed with him.

Of course, that makes him want her even more. Typical, the more he tries to woo her, the more she puts him off. But eventually she capitulates to his charms and we, the readerm can totally see why. He’s adorable in his rather flummoxed she-won’t-go-out-with-him way..

But the two of them have very different goals. Shelby is working to head back to a nice, small town where she can put down roots. She already uprooted her life for a guy who then dumped her, and Eric only wants to stay where he is and where he has just made junior partner. So they both agree this is a relationship with an expiry date. It will be over when she leaves to head to her new small-town life. But, of course, their feelings for each other grow deeper and deeper, until both dread the thought of parting from each other.

I love both Shelby and Eric. Eric is just so adorably clueless that he’s actually falling in love and Shelby is determined to follow her plans, no matter how important Eric is becoming to her. I completely fell for this book. It’s the first one I’ve read by this author, and I was rather excited to see I have others on my Kindle. While I did not have the first book in the series, The CEO’s Seduction, I have fixed that and now own it.

The measure of a book is whether I think I will reread it and I’m pretty sure Romancing the Bachelor will be getting another read by me.

A fun, flirty read with just enough heat and sass!

Eric is busy. Plain and simple. He’s vying for a junior partner position at the law firm and he barely has time for his family, let alone a relationship. When he sees court reporter Shelby for the first time – or I should say notices her for the first time, his jaw almost lands next to her stilettos.

Shelby has always noticed Eric. Noticed his handsomeness, his intelligence, his impatience, his determination. He’s been the costar in her sexy dreams. But she has no intention of staying in Atlanta or living in any other big city. She changed her life and moved to Atlanta for a man who promptly left and humiliated her. She vowed to never do it again. And when she and Eric decide to have a little fun, he vowed to make her keep that promise. When the time came, he’d help her pack, wish her well, and wave goodbye.

Easy, peasy right?

Well, now if it were, there wouldn’t be a story now would there?

Since no one is trying to impress the other or embark on anything long term, they let their guards down and simply be. Be relaxed, be open, be honest. All things they both find irresistible. So irresistible that have trouble letting each other go.

Now I won’t ruin the rest for you, but I will say this. Alberts has done a great job with characterization. I really like them both. They are fun, feisty, and willing to go after what they want. I was pleasantly surprised by the ending. Nice curve ball. Kudos to Alberts. Eric has brothers that open the door for a series, although at this point, I’m not sure if that’s the intent, but if so, I’m more than happy to keep reading. It’s somewhat of a quick read, but I didn’t feel cheated in the least.

Getting into the first few chapters I couldn't help but think
Pretty Woman/Sleepless In Settle. And that was good.
Eric's character reminded my so much of Richard Gere's character in Pretty Woman. The womanizing executive that has a hidden soft spot.
Once he notices and immediately desires Shelby he's stuck in a Sleepless in Seattle type friendship.
It doesn't take long for the two to take the next step and become
'more than friends'.
Therein lies the problem as they struggle with their feelings and their 'plans' for their individual futures neither intended 'real love' to get in the way.

I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. Both Eric and Shelby were fun characters to 'get to know'.

This book is rated a 3 on the 'heat side'. I would rate it closer to a '2'.

There was no rating for the language that I found. The beginning first few pages are filled with language basically the writer uses language to describe Eric's character through description and his thoughts and conversations.

Some readers might be put off by the language. I suggest giving
Romancing The Bachelor a chance and read past the first few pages.

I enjoyed the introduction to Eric's sister Anne and her fiance Brett whose romance is book 1 in the series. And Eric's brother Whit a pro football player who I suspect might just give up is bachelor ways in book 3. I look forward to reading book 1 and the remaining books in the Hamilton Family Series.

Eric Hamilton has a five year plan for his life with his career front and center, which leaves him no time, no desire for relationships, so he's not even looking. He's perfectly content to have random hookups on the weekend, until the day he noticed Shelby. Now his world is turned upside down, and he's determined to make her his. The problem is that she seems to hate him. Shelby Jefferson left everything behind to move to the city with her boyfriend, and not too long after, he left her. Now she's left in the wreckage of her life, trying to prove that she can make it on her own, but as soon as possible, she's moving back to the country, as the city doesn't make her happy. She's noticed Eric more than once, but he's never once noticed her until she's about to leave Atlanta, and with him determined to make her his, will she give in to him, knowing that she's leaving?! Romancing the Bachelor is a quick read that had me turning the pages as fast as possible, since I was so engrossed. Eric and Shelby were fun together, not to mention steamy during sexy time. However, even though I loved her, I still wanted to shake her a time or two, and Eric made some want to shake him decisions himself. But I have to admit, it made for great tension, while lighting up my emotions. I really liked Diane Alberts talented writing syle, as I was all in from the get go. What I had a slight problem with is the ending, which seemed a bit too rushed. All in all, I'll be reading more of her in the near future, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Posted on What I'm Reading

Talk about a fabulous read. We have Eric Hamilton who notices this girl at work and he was like I have to have her, and she shoots him down. Who doesn't love an opening like that. Shelby shoots him down hard.
"You're clearly quite accustomed to women swooning in your presence, and maybe if I had met you a few years ago, I would be one of them. But I'm not one of them. I won't giggle and flirt, or tell you how cute you are. I won't go to dinner with you, take my dress off, and then let you forget me the next day. So you're wasting your time and mine by pretending otherwise. Have a good night, though, Mr. Hamilton."
Ouch. So, Eric had his work cut for him. He probably didn't help his cause when he use to have a rotating door of women prior to Shelby. However, these two were fabulous. I had absolutely fun reading these two.

Diane found a great balance in Romancing the Bachelor between lightheartedness, and romance. Seriously, I love that Eric had to work to become friends before he could even get what he wanted. Yes, Eric did become a dick a little later, but he didn't handle his feelings to well. He was a little rough with Shelby, but he was able to grovel his way back. I totally can't wait for more Hamiltons. I hope they are coming soon. Overall, I basically sat down and read this in a day. Yes, I loved Romancing the Bachelor.

Eric and Shelby both had a plan. And in that plan there was nothing about falling in love. But then one day, Eric looked up from his work fog and saw Shelby really for the very first time. Shelby had her own opinion of Eric Hamilton. She'd known him for years, since he was a lawyer and she was a court reporter. Plus they both lived in the same building and Eric had never given her the time of day. So to all of a sudden to be under his skin, seemed like a stretch. So Eric had to prove that Shelby was more than a passing fling. Friendship was going to be the key, even though he had never really had a woman as a friend...

I really like Eric and Shelby together. It was a natural progression from friends to lovers and they were cute together, both opening up to the possibility of more, even though neither of them were looking for more. As they start to know each other and start to see there is more to life than their plans, will they be able to push them aside in order to stay together? Eric surprised me with his sweet, romance - even though he said he wasn't romantic and Shelby is a strong, smart heroine that never got to be too much. She gives Eric a run for his money which was fun to read.

I am really looking forward to the rest of this series! Getting a peek at the rest of the Hamilton brothers in the epilogue, really made me excited for more plus I hope to also get a little more of Eric and Shelby too!

A fun read!

I really enjoyed both Eric and Shelby's early relationship (she won't give him the time of day, he's determined to win her over like a gentleman instead of his usual manwh*rish persona) and their "friendship"--because man, can he pull out all the stops when he wants to, and even though Shelby really is pretty wowed by him (abs. And butt. And actually a nice guy in there somewhere) she still gives even better than she gets in their relationship. And though he's never done it before, Eric does give a good grovel.

You gotta love a good grovel.

Which admittedly he wouldn't have needed if he hadn't turned into a total tool at about 80%--even though what seemed like it was going to be their black moment was caused by a non-communication issue (not my favorite plot device, but here it was fairly believable) was Eric content with that? Oh, no--he had to take it to the next level of WTFery and nearly lost me--but the aforementioned groveling saved him and the story.

Romancing the Bachelor is the second in the Hamilton Family series, but worked just fine as a standalone.

Rating: 4 stars / B+

Eric Hamilton isn’t looking for love. Hell, he isn’t even looking for a girl. He has a five-year plan, and he’s one hundred percent focused on that. But then Shelby walks into his life, and suddenly, he can’t think about anything else. Unfortunately for him, she hates his guts, and wants nothing to do with him. But he’s a man who loves a challenge.

Shelby Jefferson can’t wait to get out of the city, and back to her country roots. She moved to Atlanta for a guy who promptly left her, and the last thing she wants is to fall for another man who might make her want to stay. But Eric is nothing if not persistent, and before long she’s inside his arms, in his bed, and falling for him. Hard. But when history repeats itself, she’s left having to choose between a man and herself…again.

I really enjoyed Eric and Shelby's story. It's a reminder that love can show up when we least expect it and that love will do what has to be done in order to be happy. This was a well written story and the first book I have had the pleasure of reading by Diane Alberts. I am heading to buy book 1 in this series right now. If you love to read a good book then give this book a try. You might want to start with book one in this series first or read them backwards like me ;)!

Eric Hamilton has goals and women are not on his agenda. But in walks Shelby Jefferson and all of a sudden he can't focus on these very important plans and goals. All he can think about is her.

Shelby Jefferson followed her heart once and it led her to heartbreak and left her in the big city. She isn't going to make the same mistake twice. She is focused on moving back to the country; once she finds the right job. But in walks Eric Hamilton and very persistent and he wants her. She is falling again for a man who could break her but its so nice in his arms. Will history be repeating itself again? Or will Eric be the real deal.

I love this story of two people not looking for love but find each other and can't resist it. Shelby was hurt and it makes her question it and Eric who seems to not have ever had time for anything has been bitten by the love bug and he decides is more important then his plans and goals. What happens when Shelby gets the job that will take her away from Eric? Will she take it? What will he do? You will have to read this one to find out what happens when you have to choose love or a job?

Romancing the Bachelor is an improvement from the first book in the series. It wasn't without its faults, but it was better. That drama in the end, lasted longer than I would have wanted it to and I was wondering what the eff was happening. I kinda get Eric's side even if I don't like it and Shelby almost had a point. I would have preferred to see some honesty instead of lying to make things better. I hope in the third book we will get a chance to see how they are doing. The book is another case of people who don't seem to have a lot in common and they wouldn't fit each other for the long run and yet, in the end, they make it work. Eric lives in a big city, hoping to become junior partner while Shelby is looking for a job in a small town because big cities are not for her. See? Opposites. This is why the agree to have a friends with benefits thing and part their ways once Shelby gets the job she wants. I was thrown off in the beginning by Shelby's behavior, to be honest, so I never managed to warm up to her. Something about her attitude and her way of thinking didn't click with me, so I only managed to get some lukewarm feelings for her.

The man that could have any woman he wants, any time he wants, and in any way he wants has found the one woman that would sass him, ignore him, and just plain right out refuse him. Eric Hamilton was young, successful, determined, and on a mission to complete his five-year plan. Never was sexy, sassy, independent, determined Shelby ever part of those plans. A mere court reporter with spunk-n-sass. She could not stand the sight of the strong, sexy, take-control attorney.

A little this and a little of that allows for Eric to become a part of Shelby’s life, if only as a friend. Then the friends become a bit more and then a bit more. Neither wants to impede on the other life goals or dreams, but sometimes life has its own way of getting what it wants. The was a sexy romantic comedy that provided some relief to the day. I say pick up your copy of Romancing the Bachelor and just enjoy the slow rise to blissful union between the sexy hot attorney, Eric and the sassy court reporter, Shelby.

Thank you, Diane for adding to the series and making the day just that much better and lighter than when it started.

This was a fun and lighthearted romantic comedy that would definitely drive you crazy since the main leads are just too funny and sometimes frustrating with the way their relationship develops. We meet Eric and Shelby as if the former was suddenly and instantly attracted to the latter. Turns out that Shelby has been court stenographer for the last six months and it's only now that Eric, a lawyer, has noticed her. But that's not the clincher. Apparently, they live in the same building and often times have come across one another. But Eric doesn't remember and Shelby thinks he's just basically too aloof and a playboy. What follows is a romance that develops slowly and carefully catching both of them unawares. But they both have plans and it doesn't include falling in love.
Again, this was really a fun read, although the main leads reasoning for not pursuing something lasting between them seems silly, the reasoning behind it isn't a stretch. It's a light and very sexy romance worth reading.

Romancing the Bachelor was such a great novel. I really loved the fact that neither the heroine (Shelby) or te hero (Eric) are looking for love but love find them when the least expect or want it. Both have goals in life and a relationship isn’t on their radar. Shelby has been tainted by love gone wrong and isn’t looking to be held back again from a man who’s just going to go in his merry way when a better option arises. Shelby is ready to leave the city that love brought her to and is waiting for a job opportunity in a small town is her main focus. While Eric’s goals have nothing to do with a woman but when the challenge of a woman who hates his guts presents herself he just can’t resist. I loved the interaction and chemistry between Eric and Shelby. The storyline was fabulous and overall an extremely enjoyable read. I would give this novel 5 stars.

Reading a Diane Alberts story is like being caught in a Riptide. It's easy to become entangled and hard to find the way out. I love reading Ms. Alberts. She can maneuver from light and entertaining to emotionally frustrating, but she always manages to grab hold of her readers and never let go. The Hamiltons are my favorite series because, each story has little more heart, alot more mischief and that dynamic only a family gave make. Romancing the Bachelor is Eric's moment to shine. The man with the five year plan meets his match in Shelby. She's vibrantly frustrating, stubborn, and determined to live by her own rules. Sound familiar. Eric and Shelby are two peas in a pod. Which makes for a volatile relationship, but an exciting romance. There were times the story felt rushed but these characters are as lovable as the series is sizzling.
