After ten years chasing her dreams, Lucy is on her way! Home, that is. She can’t tell anyone that she never made it to Hollywood. To appear successful, she needs her best friend and sweetheart Noah to play the leading man in her biggest drama yet. He’s her pretend husband. She’s the new teacher at their old high school. They’re happily married. Only one of those things is a lie.
But that isn’t the only scandal here.
NOAH
Noah knows that going back means facing a complicated past. When Lucy clashes with her first love right out of the gate, he wonders if their fake marriage can outlast passions that ten years apart couldn’t kill. Noah has wanted Lucy since he hit puberty.
The problem is that she just can’t stop thinking about her ex-boyfriend. And neither can he.
SHAWN
Shawn can’t decide how it went. The love of his life ran off with her best friend. Or, the love of his life ran off with his girlfriend. Either way, both took half his heart. Now they’re back, and the old confusing feelings are, too.
They all have their secrets, and secrets tend to spread like wildfire in small towns.
Classmates is a scorching hot Bisexual / Menage MMF Romantic Comedy with explicit scenes and a guaranteed HEA ending.
I'm a glutton for continuing to try to find a MMF that doesn't make me want to permanently retire to the blanket fort. Even more disturbing I seem to have inadvertently wandered into the no lube zone. At least these dudes used spit, though the bottom was a virgin so...
I'm not sure what I found more disappointing in this story-the drama llamadom or that most of the drama llamadom originated from the female MC.
Or that the plot was NEXT LEVEL LAME or that the sex may have out lamed the plot especially in the same same department.
Is it just too much to ask to at least get hot sexy times in lieu of an interesting or engaging plot?
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book. 3.5 Stars!
This book reminded me a lot of the authors last story I read. Friends waiting 10 years to come back to town and then decided they cannot live without each other. It must be a plot that works but I kept saying why wait 10 years? That's a long time to be without someone.
This story is a bit convoluted. You get a bit of the story here and there. There were some things that I didn't get. For one Lucy is a bit lost in all the crazy coming and goings. She has no clue about whats been happening. She takes off for days at a time because she gets mad. Then she immediately is fine. She doesn't has sex with her "husband" for 10 yrs??
I was a little confused in many parts of the story. However, if there is one thing this author does well it is write steamy MMF scenes. There is several HOTTT scenes in this book with MF MM and MMF combos so you hit all of your fantasies!
Loved the guy characters. Lots of steam and testosterone floating around. The character development needs some work and the conversations and flow of the story seemed a bit stiff. But overall an engaging read with plenty of steam!
Although I really loved Lucy, Noah and Shawn, there was just so much angst between them. Which actually wasn't a bad thing, its just it distracted me from all the beautiful love scenes. I just wanted to see what would happen next, and so much happens. There was quite a bit of humor too which made everything balance out so it wasn't too much like a soap opera.
I received an ARC of this book and I voluntarily chose to review it. I liked this book. It was different to what I was expecting. It is well written. I encourage you to go get this one. Please remember it is a Ménage love story. I loved how it ended, I don't do spoilers so that's all I am going to say.
This book's sex scenes were awesome... but the story had so much potential! I expected so much more out of it. I just felt like the story could've been greater.
Cheating, lies and betrayal, but ménage a trois friendship, chemistry and love conquers all
MMF bisexual erotic romance with complex (but uneven) character relationships
There is heat in a ménage a trois partially split between events ten years ago and now, full of secrets and UST where the bonds (and sex?) somehow overcome the betrayal.
Tropes/themes: second chance romance, high school lovers reunited, fake marriage, friends-to-lovers, UST (10+ years?), overcoming betrayal and cheating, closeted and coming out, high school/small town gossipy bitches, moral prejudice/employment codes, interfering family
Many works in the mmf bi “romance” genres are often focused on the threeway sizzle, with only skeletal relationship or plot to frame the heat. On the positive side, there is a fair amount of character and story (as well as some steam) in this story which made me want to enjoy it more than the typical wish-fulfillment/escapist smut. However, for me, it stumbles on typical poly story difficulties, bi stereotyping, and difficult to forgive behavior that undermine its enjoyment as a romance.
There were just too many issues undermining the chemistry for me to enjoy this more, although these issues might not bother other readers in this genre.
In threeway/polyam romance, especially in closed triad/“throuple” relationships, often one or more of the legs suffers. In this case, the Noah/Lucy seemed particularly problematic. Ten years of being intimate, single, isolated, codependent best friends without acting out any attraction seemed unbelievable (all because of Noah’s youthful guilt and/or promiscuity- for ten years?). The resulting fake marriage and resolution of the UST seemed tame.
The story relies heavily on bisexual stereotypes for the central plot points of the (ten years ago) betrayal, break up, separation and two-party flight. The bisexual as cheater and promiscuous reinforces the worst biphobic stereotypes. Bi people aren’t more likely to cheat or sleep around than other orientations, despite the common perceptions. Using it as a plot point isn’t necessarily a deal-breaker for me in a romance, but it needs to be handled with a bit of finesse and preferably more detailed exploration and resolution than in this story.
Finally, whether it’s a bi stereotype or not, the central role of cheating is a hard "no" for many romance readers. It’s not quite such a hard line for me, but given the ramifications of the cheating in the story (especially ten years ago), I need a whole lot more catharsis. I guess ten years of separation and the grandmother’s near death cleared it away. Given Lucy only found out recently how the two most important men totally messed with her life, it was too simple for me. (Especially added to the lack of sexual chemistry with Noah for ten years and the double rejection from Shawn ten years apart.)
Lucy, Noah and Shawn went to school together. Shawn was Lucy's boyfriend and Noah was her best friend. Something happens and Shawn and Lucy break up and her and Noah leave town. Ten years later is when the book starts.
Ok, I have to say I enjoy reading erotic stories, but this one seemed to drag a little and is not really believable. I know, it's fiction, but Noah had a secret crush on Lucy since high school and never did anything about it, even after living with her for ten years? And he also kept a secret about what happened between him and Shawn for ten years? Then once Lucy and Noah come back to town, he decides to do something about it and she acts like its a total surprise that he wants her. I think after living with someone for ten years you would know how that person feels about you. Anyway, enough of that.
The interaction between Shawn and Noah was not as electric as some of Ms. Stewart's other stories. With Shawn being a "virgin" with a man, Noah could have "prepared" him better than just with his saliva from his tongue. Even though he's a man, you still need to lubricate and stretch him so he doesn't rip!
Overall, it was a good read. With three people, there is a lot of drama involved. I enjoyed the grandmother's character the most. I got a few chuckles from her. There is a HEA with no cliffhanger.
Classmates is the story of three people who have run from the truth of their feelings for 10 years. When they are thrown back together, secrets come to the surface and the three of them must confront the past and decide what they want for their futures. This is a good story of three people fighting the past and dealing with small town rumors.
(there are spoilers ahead....)
I enjoyed the story. If you are looking for a story with lots of angst, this isn't the story. The three characters fit together well and the reasons that they stayed apart for 10 years make sense. I did think that the "mean girls" in the story were a bit silly but the story needed a bad guy. The other thing that made me scratch my head was that one of the teachers performs as a drag queen and is openly gay and the administration of the school seems to accept that. Yay for open minded acceptance! But then the principal tells Shawn that there is a clause in his teaching contract that says he can't live an alternative lifestyle. What?! Is that even legal? Even with that, I still enjoyed the story and I thought the writing was pretty good.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book
Shawn was her high school sweetheart and first love that she left behind.
Noah is her best friend she left with, whose been living with her for a decade and is now playing her fake husband.
Lucy ran from her hometown now she’s coming home to help her grandma.
What she doesn’t realize is you cannot out run ghosts of the past or your feelings, especially for the two most important men you’ve ever had in your life.
I enjoy reading stories about testing how far you’ll go for love. This book was set different then most mmf bi ménage because the boys hid their growing feelings so not to hurt her, and then it all blew up when they started cheating on her since no one risked being honest...at least not til years later. Thankfully they got their stuff together.
Glad all the friends stuck it out and moved on. Wonder what the future holds for this crew.
Just when you thought a relationship was complicated enough with just a man and a woman, add another man who is in love with both of them, with a little bit of denial. This was a great romance story with such amazing characters. Even the secondary characters were a vital part of the story line. What I really loved was the fact that the book was laced with humor throughout. if you love complicated relationships , lots of sexy times with mmf, plenty of laughs.. you will love this book
This book was more enjoyable than the last book I read by Nicole Stewart. I laughed a lot, the grandmother was my favorite. My least favorite was Lucy. She is 27years old and acts like a teen. She stops around when people act and speak the way she wants them to. She gets so butt hurt about people but when they try to apologize she doesn't want to hear it. She would rather live in her hurt and anger than listen to her guys. I also felt like this book was more about Lucy reliving high school, then about a bisexual triad.
Love, love. Hot steamy heart warming and panty melting with a story that draws you in and holds on. Noah, Shawn and and their perfect lady make you wish you were apart of their lives and love. I've read every one of Nicole Stewart's amazing books and can't wait for the next. Much talent in stories that make you feel apart of them.
Lucy comes back home to care for her grandmother but she's in a faux marriage to her best friend Noah. They both didn't expect to run into a highschool friend, boyfriend, and secret lover. Shawn brings Lucy and Noah all together. Bonus: Includes lots of humor and fun
I voluntarily read a arc copy. This is a great book it was a little slow but it picks up and it's great. It's well written and characters are great you get to see their relationship develop. It's more to them then what you see at the beginning. There chemistry is great you will love the grandma.
I enjoyed Classmates by Nicole Stewart. The story was different than other books by Ms. Stewart, not as deep and well developed. The characters were likable, Lucy, Noah, and Shawn showed great chemistry and Morgan was a riot!
Wow this book had me hot and crazy in serval ways. I love the characters and oh my goodness how I wish I was Lucy. Darn it. Two sexy hot man hot for you and hot for each other. A must read.
Another beautiful book from Nicole...I laughed so hard at granma antics, Morgan n Angel had me in stitches an Shawn n Nolan and Lucy just burn up the pages...This is a must read ...what can I say ,this the reason Nicole is one of my very favorite writer's...
this story has more twists and turns than I expected. I like it, but was a little upset that it seemed as if Noah wanted Shawn more than Lucy. even at the end. maybe I'm still not totally comfortable with mm as I thought. good story, though.
Great story but the boys did her dirty. I definitely wouldn't have been so forgiving so fast. The author should have made them grovel a LOT more after what they did to her. I loved the humor though and the crazy antics.
With plenty of heartache and drama. There are some awkward moments and some things that seems to interrupt the pace but its a sweet little story overall
Don't really know. For my money, Scooter could have been left out, and instead, incorporate Morgan in with Noah, Shaun, and Lucy making them into a foursome.
What a exciting story. I loved all the characters in this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good read with lots of hotness. A MUST READ
