My first book by Amber Lacie was Light, the second book in this series, and then I had the chance to read the first book right after to find out how Eve and Theron's story began since they need to be followed one after the other to get the full experience of their journey. When I first read these books, I fell in love with how Amber Lacie brought her characters to life and created a new world that is so beautifully written, that you can't help but picture the way they move, breathe and act with one another and the other characters around them. When I heard that she was coming out with a box set that incorporates both books, new editing and some additional information (aka an excerpt of her upcoming book from the series), I was excited.

Just as I remembered, Eve and Theron are captivating. They are beautifully imperfect, full of problems and some qualities, that you know you're reading 'real' individuals. In true Amber Lacie fashion, my heart skipped a beat more than once, my emotions reeling from the many twists and turns she adds to her stories. I love how Amber Lacie tells her stories, you always have a feeling that you're glimpsing into her own personal thoughts, which I've seen with a few authors. Considering that it's a small re edit, I was more than happy to re read this couple's journey and I'll be looking forward to her next release in the series, to get to meet Indigo.

What a fantastic read! This is easily one of my favorite book series; it has everything you want in a book. This series is full of twists and turns, betrayals, OMG moments, and not to mention the freaking hot connection Theron and Eve have!! They are one of my favorite book couples.
These books gave me all the feels! I felt every emotion the characters were feeling; I hurt for them, I cheered for them and I wanted to slap the S**T out of them (I’m looking at you Theron, you know what you did!) What I really loved about the characters is that they weren’t perfect which made them easily relatable.
One of the things I love about this boxed set is that extra little bonus. Can I have Evan now?? PLEASE!!!

Eve meets a mysterious guy in a Landry mat and immediately falls for him but she feels like she knows him .Eve met Theron when they were younger and forgot about it untill something tragic happen and she lost her best friend Matt! Eve and Theron have been in love with each other since they were 14 but will drama and chaos keep them apart!!! This book kept me on my toes and their was parts I cried in but all in all it was an amazing story and I can't wait to read book 3!!

Shadows: A Love ever after series By Amber Lacie a loveable four star read. This series compromises of two books, both parts contained within this book, the first book is Shadows and the second is Light. Will we find the light within the shadows? Or will the shadows become too dark? I haven’t read anything by Amber Lace previously but I will be keeping an eye out for her in the future. It does contain scenes of an adult nature so I would recommend for over 18s. The story will keep you reading, there are twists and evil plots, but will we get a HEA, that is the question that you will need to read the book to find out, it may surprise you in the end.
Shadows - Eve is someone that anyone would be jealous of, a great job, amazing friends in particular Kayla and Matt, when she a chance encounter with a hot guy at a laundromat she thinks nothing of it, until later when she sees him again. The problem is the second time she sees the hottie with the odd coloured eyes happens to be one of the most tragic moments in her life. He reveals himself as Theron and quickly becomes her rock and saviour. Until the truth is out and then the shadows fall.
Light – This follows on from Shadows and we pick up Theron and Eve and their relationship and the battles they face. Without giving the story away, this part answers some of the questions raised, and continues with this great story.
You won’t be disappointed to stay with the series. The third book is coming and I can’t wait to find out more about Evan and Kayla.

Shadows, A love Ever After Series by Amber Lacie, is an incredibly thrilling and suspenseful book which contains not one, but two stories. Shadows; Book One and Light; Book Two. I was captivated from the very first page and couldn’t put the book down until I had read every word. I am also excited to find a new to me author whose work I love so much. I have added her to my must read author list and can’t wait to explore her other work!
Eve seems to have it all- the great job, good friends and a close, supportive and loving family. She is a passionate bookworm, who loves nothing more than losing herself in one of her books. She isn’t a social butterfly, she’d much rather stay home that go out clubbing. Her roommates tease her about waiting till she finds a man just like those she reads about in her books.
Theron is the son of a business tycoon. He isn’t close to his father who is a cold, hard man who was distant and intimidating while Theron was growing up. Losing his mother while he was still quite young certainly didn’t help matters. He can’t stand his father or anything to do with him, preferring to distance himself from everything his father represents. Luckily he has his beloved grandmother who he has lots of time for, in fact he even works with her. But he can’t help feeling like something is missing from his life and often thinks of the girl who captured his heart so many years ago.
When Theron and Eve meet by chance, there is an instant connection that is hard to explain. The spark is electrifying. Theron is so caring and supportive of Eve- which is exactly what she needs.
But strange thing start happening and danger is lurking in the shadows. Sinister forces seem intent on destroying what them. Can Theron protect them from the danger? What is the danger and why has it targeted Eve and Theron? Will they thwart the danger and will they succumb to it?
WOW! I love this book/s. It is such a suspenseful page-turner. I was on the edge of my seat, with my heart in my mouth trying to figure out what was happening. It kept me guessing with lots of twists and turns.
I loved Theron- he is such a protective alpha male that made me swoon. Eve is sassy, strong willed and incredibly endearing. I loved their chemistry; it burned up the pages and set my kindle on fire.
I was excited to find an excerpt of the next story at the end of this book. I can't wait to get my hands on it.

This is a boxed set of the original Light and Shadows books by Amber Lacie. I enjoyed reading this story as a whole all over again just as much this time around.
Eve was just a normal girl going about her life. She had a job that paid the bills and her roommates Kayla and Matt were her two best friends since childhood. All she needed now was that man that gave her fireworks, not that she was looking.
When tragedy strikes and delivers a devastating loss, a stranger is there to catch her. His name is Theron and he helps her find the strength to keep moving forward with her life. He is her fireworks, but are things moving too fast? As if things aren’t bad enough at home, there are some strange things going on at work as well. Will things ever get better for Eve?
When I read this story as two separate books, I accidentally read them backwards. It's was a whole different experience this time reading them in order.
I loved Eve and Theron's story. I mean who wouldn't want a man who searched for you since he was 14 years old. Once you get past his overbearing nature and his over protectiveness he is that man that every woman wants.
Poor Eve just can't catch a break. She's never had to deal with loss the way she is in this story and she doesn't always handle it the best of ways.
Her friend Kayla is my kindred spirit. I love how outspoken and fun she is. I only had one issue here and really it's just a personal thing but there was an incident in the story where Kayla acted out of character. I understand why but I felt it maybe could have been done differently. Honestly though it's just a pet peeve of mine and really in no way took away from the story as a whole.
There was also a little surprise at the end! I can't wait to see what happens with that!
In short you won't be disappointed when you read this book. It has a little of everything from intrigue and danger, to love and loss.

Shadows: A Love Ever After Series • Amber Lacie
Shadows: Book One
What a roller coaster of events! Amber Lacie will have you on the edge of your seat trying to guess what is going to happen next. I've read Amber Lacie's other books but not here earlier work and I know if I had read this first she will still be one of my favorite authors.
I loved Eve's character; she wasn't shy about how she felt about Theron even after only just meeting him. But there is a back story to them that is explained so even though it seemed rushed it wasn't; make sense? No then read it; you won't regret it! And Theron ..... uhhhhh yes please. Even though he seems possessive at times with his "You are mine" quite often I still adored him.
So much happens in the book; love, loss, drama, fear, friendships. This book has it all. I really enjoyed this book. Also I'm glad this is a box set since Shadows ended in a cliffhanger!

What a head spinning book! Book 2 picks up from when book 1 Shadows ended; Theron is devastated from what happened at the end of Shadows and only Eve is able to help him. The love these two have each other is so strong that you know they will be able to handle whatever is thrown their way.

Wow! What a fabulous read. I love this series as its one of my favourite series I have ever read. This series follows Eve through her dealing with loss and Theron who is from her past but she does not remember there childhood friendship. A remarkable series that will take you through the journey of when Eve's "Light" & Theron's "Shadow" will cause their worlds to collide. A beautiful narrative with plenty of plot twist to keep you guessing & the pages turning. With compelling & sensational characters that have flaws that will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride. This series will bring you to tears & laughter as it has plenty of sweet sugar & sexy spices with a bit of mystery, betrayal, lust, passion, & suspense. A beautiful epilogue to end their journey & sneak peak into spin off series in book three which follows Eve's best friend. Cannot wait to read the next book in this fantastic series. A must read series. I volunteerly reviewed an advanced reading copy of this boxset.

l loved this two book set. Shadows is about two people who meet went they are just teenagers on a beach one summer. Eve befriends a boy that always wears sunglasses and hardly ever speaks. But she doesn't care. he's kind to her and calls her beautiful. until he doesn't come back anymore.
Fast forward several years and Eve sees him again but doesn't know it's him. Theron never took off his sunglasses back then, since he has two different colored eyes. She is attracted to and feels so comfortable with him.
Tragedy strikes them over and over again but they seem to be better together than apart. Their journey is by no means an easy one. as a matter of fact, everything that can go wrong gets thrown at them.
I love the way they need each other and realize that. Theron is possessive of Eve and she in turn becomes possessive of him.
With every problem solved, they become stronger together. This was a fantastic read and the pages kept turning and I was at the end before I knew it. I can not WAIT for Evan's story.

I was given this ARC for an honest Review. First off I forgot how gripping Amber Lacie's stories were. (Sigh)
Shadows
Shadows caught my interest from the very beginning. I COULD NOT put this book down! I read into the wee hours of the morning (even though I should have been sleeping because my husband is currently recovering from surgery and I'm taking on the extra work, I just couldn't sleep knowing Theron and Eve were waiting to be read lol. This book instantly became my happy place distracting me from feeling so tired. )
When I did put Shadows down I found myself immediately drawn to it whenever I could.
The plot was that incredibly captivating and suspenseful. The characters were beautiful and complex. Eve reminded me a little of myself, she loves books, becomes lost in her thoughts and becomes consumed with the Theron. (But in a good way)
No one understands her "fireworks" for Theron. (but I've been there, needing someone by your side so you won't totally fall apart, sigh) and Theron was perfect for her.
Theron is strong but broken inside but who wouldn't be with the way his father treats him. I like how Eve's parents assume Theron's family wants nothing but the best for him because Theron's "his son" but not all families are "happy ones" like Eve's.
I really loved Theron's Gram, Isa. I love how she didn't hold back with her thoughts, she literally made me laugh out loud at times.
This book was amazing Amber Lacie, thank you so much for writing this.

Light took us on so many different emotional roller coasters. Light picks up right where Shadows ended. The entire series had me from the start, I honestly couldn't put it down but at the same time I didn't want it end either.
This story was full of twists and turns, betrayals and OMG moments!
The scene where Kayla, Robert and her parents walk in on Theron sleeping with his hand under the blankets (sigh) that was so heart breaking.
So needless to say I became very attached to both Theron and Eve, so much so that my heart literally broke for both of them. I loved seeing Theron's POV and the way he was dealing with things with his father and Bridgette.
Light was the perfect conclusion to Eve and Theron's story and I can't wait for Evan's story in 2018.

I’m not new to Amber Lacie as an author, and even though these two books were published individually prior to her other works, I hadn’t yet had the opportunity to be introduced to these two characters. These books were definitely different than the Amber I’m used to, but equally wonderful to read. Well rounded characters who can carry the story line, the romance and chemistry that keeps it steamy and the natural suspense that she writes into the plot make this an easy duo to dive in to.
Eve’s life flows along as expected, work, some social outings, a few good friends…nothing out of the ordinary. A run in with Theron at the laundromat begins a day that very much changes the course of both of their lives in every way imaginable. Eve’s “Light” and Theron’s “Shadows” collide to take them on a journey neither of the two of them could have ever imagined. There are twists and turns around every corner, and I can guarantee a few “WTH!” moments in there!

Oh my gosh where do I start? Eve and Theron my gosh they have it all going on, so much drama, pain, heartache and sorrow but most of all an undeniable love and attraction. There's so much detail in these books and so much heat and passion.....these two can't put the kettle on without things getting steamy 😉
Theron is quite possessive at times but hey I like a little alpha in my reads and Theron has just the right amount. Be warned there's a bit of a cliffy at the end of the first book. But the second book picks up where the first left off.
There's lots of twists to keep you turning those pages and so much emotion despite all of the twists, turns and betrayal you just can't help but keep praying there's a HEA!!

The chemistry between the characters in both books is instant and undeniable.

Amber Lacie blew me away with her debut novels. They are full of everything I love in a good romance.. sexy protagonist, feisty female, unexpected twists and turns and awesome secondary characters. Theron is a hero that your heart loves even if he sometimes screws up along the way. Eve is sweet, sensitive and taking names.. I love a female that doesn't let the world walk all over her. The twists and turns go back many years and several of them caught me off guard, but I loved it. And then there's Isa, the grandmother that is full of it in every wonderful way a woman who's lived through what she had should be! Grab this series and a coffee and dive in.

This box set is simply amazing. Amber never fails to create a whole new world where I'd love to live. Her characters are very well developed and easily relatable. They have flaws,they make mistakes, they get mad. They also have extreme passion. There is plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing and turning the pages. Just when you think you know what's going to happen next, she changes it up and makes it exciting! Amber takes you for a ride along with her characters, so sit down, buckle up, and enjoy the emotional trip. There is also a sneak peak of book 3 in the back, that's gonna be one wild ride that I can not wait for!!

This series is absolutely amazing and I loved every single word. I couldn't read it fast enough, but was sad to see it end because I loved it so much- even when it made me cry! Every book by this author has been a thought-provoking and emotional ride that I would gladly take again. I can't wait to read Amber Lacie's next book, because she never lets me down! The characters are writing are so good that I can feel and see every moment. Plus she writes amazingly strong female characters, and absolutely stunning men. Gimme More! Anyone who loves the kind of writing previously described, or just romance period, needs to read this series!

This series had EVERYTHING! Amber gave us a story filled with friendships, unrequited love, loss, betrayal, true love, family drama, revenge, etc. You will adore Eve and Theron. I laughed and cried with them. I cussed and wanted to throw my Kindle. This series will have you experiencing every emotion. I loved it so much that I've already read it twice and have in on my "read again" list! I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

I loved this book. The love that Theron has for Eve warms my heart. She excepted him when he needed it most and he loved her unconditionally for it. I loved how they went to the ends of earth to be together. And that ending!! I have a feeling there will soon be another great story I'll need to read. A must read.

I loved Eve and Theron's story. It's full of emotions that I could feel in the words as they were written...anger, fear, love, passion, desolation, saddness, joy, happiness. It's also full of suspense and mystery. The epilogue is the best part. I love knowing how life turns out years later.

this was the two series combined and they were both amazing! it brought tears to my eyes in some parts. it was funny in parts , scary and downright make a person mad. secrets and lies revenge and death. its all packed into this amazing series. its a must read!

The story Shadows: A Love Ever After Series by Amber Lacie is a thrilling/new adult romance book. This is an amazing book that has mystery, suspense, and romance all wrapped up in one. It is a book that had my attention from the very beginning and kept it all the way through. This book includes two stories in one. This is the story of Eve and Theron. Eve’s world is going along perfectly. She has wonderful friends and family that loves her. My first impression of Eve is that she has it all. For the most part, she enjoys her work and is cruising through life. Then she meets Theron. She doesn’t know why but she feels a connection to this stranger and when a situation comes up that causes her pain, he is the one that she feels safe with. Her friends and family are confused as to who this new person is in her life and doesn’t understand how she feels so deeply for someone she just met. I am one that believes that the heart always tells us when we have found our other half and this is what I believe happened to Eve. Even through all of her confusion and pain she always loves Theron. As the story progresses, strange things begin to happen. Eve doesn’t seem to take them seriously at first and doesn’t tell anyone about them. Then more threatening situations begin to happen and she can’t ignore them anymore. Who is behind these strange occurrences? As the relationship between Eve and Theron grows there are misunderstandings. The heart of the problem is that Eve and Theron are not fully communicating and when things come out they feel hurt. Will Eve and Theron make it through the rough times in their relationship? Will they start being totally honest with each other?
Theron is such a tortured soul. His father is a hard, cold man that didn’t’ care for Theron while he has growing up and the divide between them only grows as the years go on. He is looking to overcome his past and he believes that Eve is the one that can make this happen. I felt such empathy for Theron as he has had such an ugly childhood and his experiences in some ways only get worse from there. I believe that Theron should have been more forthcoming with Eve when first meeting her and a lot of the miscommunications in their relationship could have been avoided. I do believe that Theron loves Eve with his whole heart and I was always rooting for them to find true happiness. Will Eve be Theron’s salvation? Theron is fiercely protective of Eve and would do anything to keep her safe. When he finds out she has been hiding situations from him that could be dangerous he is very upset. Now it is his mission to keep her safe. Will Theron be able to keep Eve safe or will the evil that is gathering around this couple win?

This is my first story by this author and I enjoyed her writing skills, attention to details and her development of characters. These characters are true to life and you will find yourself connecting with them. They will pull you into their world and make you feel what they are. There are some twists and turns in this books that will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat and needing ice water for other parts. This story will pull you in from the first word and keep you engaged until the end. Find out what happens to these characters as you will get two stories in one.

He has made some mistakes but everyone does but he is still a great character. He just wants to protect her. What will happen when he finds out about the things happening, she never told him, he gets upset, will he understand why she didn't tell him? But his mission is to keep her safe, will he succeed? I found myself wanting to see them find their HEA and wanting to see more of them. The secondary characters are just as great as these two. They really do add to the story to help make them flow. They complement the main characters and I hope that we get to see more of them soon. Find out if evil wins or if Eve and Theron will find a way to beat evil and get their HEA.

The Love Ever After Series contains two stories: Shadows and Light. These are contained in one edition, so they can be read one after the other with no anxious wait in between. Amber Lacie’s stories include romance, love and hate, intrigue, sex with light BDSM. Therefore I’d recommend it for readers over the age of eighteen.
The books tell the story of Eve and Theron. When they meet in the laundromat Eve feels a strange and compelling attraction to Theron; one which she cannot explain. Their next meeting occurs at a tragic event that changes Eve’s life forever. She’s not sure how but suddenly Theron is by Eve’s side and refusing to leave her. Her friends and family are confused: who is Theron and what is he to Eve? Prior to the tragic event, Eve had been living a quiet life. She shared an apartment with her best friends, Matt and Kayla. She had a job to pay the bills: she enjoyed reading as a hobby, rarely went out and had no boyfriend. Eve was waiting for her ‘fireworks’ – she believed she would experience ‘fireworks’ when she met the ‘love of her life’. She just didn’t know him yet. Amber Lacie is a very skilful writer. She has woven ‘real’ characters into a fast paced story full of intrigue. Although there are surprises and twists her writing is easy to follow. I couldn’t put this book down. I constantly wanted the best for Theron and Eve and had to keep turning the page to find out what happened next.
There are two main reasons why I couldn’t give the books more than four stars. The first one being Theron’s overbearing and over possessiveness of Eve with the sense that he ‘owned’ her. I think more about Theron’s experiences in the past at the hands of his father may have helped me as a reader to understand why he was so possessive and needed / wanted to control her. Was it as a result of how his father treated his mother? Or was it because in some ways he was like his father? If it was the latter what would prevent him (other than Eve’s strong will) becoming too possessive and/or too controlling? The second reason is that the sex scenes although they were well written were too long and too frequent for me (they also became too samey). I found myself turning two to three pages in an effort to pick up the rest of the story.
There was a snippet of the next book in the series which also involves intrigue and I look forward to reading it.

I haven't ever read anything by Amber Lacie before. But I definitely will NOW! Iam a huge fan!! She writes in such a beautiful way, with deep complex characters. Who are so detailed , you can actually see them in your head. You can probably even relate to them, in different situations.

In Light, we get to watch the love grow between Eve and Theron. They deal with more than their fair share of troubles and tragedies. Light is a little darker than the first book and has a few more situations that may be triggers to some. Eve has lived through what she feels is the hardest thing she’s ever dealt with, and even though the world seems to be against her and Theron, they’ve proven they can’t live without each other. When Theron faces his own tragedy she’s right there to hold him up. When strange notes begin appearing on Eve’s car she tries to keep it quiet so Theron doesn’t stress more. Unfortunately, neither one see’s the evil that’s coming for them until it’s too late. Can they survive the horrible events headed their way or will evil win this round?
I could not put this set down! These books made me laugh, cry, scream and fall in love with this author. The author writes with so much emotion that you can’t help but feel every single one of them that’s in this book. I give this set five stars and will reread it over and over. This was my first read by this author and she did not disappoint. I recommend this to anyone looking for a book that has a swoon worthy couple, plenty of romance and a bit of darker problems that people can face.

Shadows: A Love Ever After series is a two book box set from Amber Lacie and I loved every second of it! If I’m honest I liked book 2 ever so slightly more than book 1 but even so they were both a brilliant read. This is the first work that I have read by this author and I know that I definitely want to read more from her in the future! I am definitely looking forward to book 3!! Overall both books captured my attention from the very beginning. I loved that I was able to go straight form the first to the second book so I didn’t have to wait long to find out what would happen next between Eve and Theron.
Shadows (book 1)
I loved how this book started with action straight away and I have to say I was in tears and only 5% in! I really liked Eve’s character. She was quite a strong character, sometimes a little needy bit she had a naivety that I could relate to. Her world was absolutely shattered with what happened. I could feel every emotion that the author had poured into those first few chapters. I was crying right along with Eve. I think the author did a really good job of writing about how grief can affect people. We aren’t all the same so how one person grieves isn’t right or wrong. I have to say when Theron first comes in to the story I wasn’t quite sure about him – he just kind of appeared and quickly inserted himself into Eve’s life but as the story unfolded I found myself falling more and more in love with him. He is such a lovely person! He hasn’t had the best childhoods but the way he acts towards Eve is just completely swoon-worthy! I also cannot go on without mentioning Theron’s Grandmother! Probably one of the best characters in this book! I would LOVE for her to be my Grandmother – she came out with some of the funniest things I have read in a long time!

Whilst book 1 was more about events that happened in Eve’s life and the relationship between her and Theron in book 2 we see a lot more twists and turns in the story. Again there are some emotional moments that had me on the brink of tears. I was not expecting some of the plot twists that happened in this book and this could be why I preferred it ever so slightly over book 1. We still have some great scenes between Eve and Theron, the chemistry between them is still off the charts and the sex scenes between them are HOT!! I really felt for Theron in this story as we see just what depths people who are meant to care about him will do to try and hurt him. I think in this book we see a huge growth in both characters, especially Eve.
I have really enjoyed these two books – I think that the author has done an amazing job and I am certainly looking forward to reading the next book in the series and more from her in the future!
