Jillian Johnson is a single mother of a daughter, Marty. Now that Marty is all grown up and pursuing a medical career overseas, Jillian makes the monumental decision to leave her home state of Wisconsin for a new life in Los Angeles. Her true passion is to become a professional writer, and with her mind on that goal, she takes a job as a household helper for the mysterious and reclusive Mr. Romano.
Shortly after arriving at his estate, Jillian is shocked to discover that her new employer is uniquely tied to her past. He was a huge, albeit unknowing, influence in her decision to attend medical school, the place where she engaged in an ill-fated romance with the man who would become her daughter’s father.
Having survived this and other heartbreaks, Jillian is ready to open her heart to love again. There are certainly new men in her life, but none more intriguing than her employer, Mr. Romano. The fact that he stays hidden from Jillian and only communicates with her via brief and sometimes brusque handwritten notes only adds to the intrigue. Is he trying to hide something? Jillian doesn’t know, but she becomes determined to find out more about this mysterious man and see if she can help him emerge from his reclusive shell. It soon becomes apparent that she has her work cut out for her, and it will take every ounce of patience, and faith, to meet this challenge.

I was lucky enough to win this book from GoodReads giveaways. I wasn't aware of the Christian themes in the book until I started reading, but if you're looking for a good clean romance with lots of lessons in moving on, trusting in God, and giving people chances, this is the book for you.
It was kind of slow getting into the romance of the story and knowing that there are more books in the series, I hope we get to see more of that as it goes on. I did enjoy getting to know Jillian, however, and seeing how her life had been up until this point. I really like the relationship she has with her daughter, Marty. And how she makes the best out of life's situations.
Another thing to take away from this book, is how much we touch other people's lives without even noticing it. I will definitely be looking into the other books in the series.
First of All I Want to Thank Goodreads & Kathy Jacobson for Giving Me the Opportunity to Read this Book, as I Won it in a Goodreads Giveaway! I Really Enjoyed this Book a Lot and I Would Definitely Recommend it! At First Glance You Wouldn't Really Give the Book a Second Glance b/c the Cover of the Book Doesn't Necessarily Pull You in or Anything but the Story Itself was Very Good and I Will Definitely Tell My Friends & I Will Read More from this Author in the Future! I Could Relate to the Main Character Jillian Quite a Bit in that She is Trying to Start Over in Her Career & Trying to Open Her Heart and that's Kind of Where I am in My Life! Although I'm Not a Nurse Starting Over as Far as Her Career is Concerned! I Would Say I'm Actually More of a Patient Starting Over b/c I was in a Motorcycle Accident and I Hurt My Neck and was Out of Work for Some Time So I Too am Trying to Start Over in My Career! She Also has a Daughter Named Marty that She Shares Everything with (Kinda Like the Relationship I Have with My Mom) and She Remains Close to Her Via the Internet! I'm Also Single Like the Main Character b/c My Pain has Unfortunately Kept Me from Dating So I Too am Trying to Open My Heart to that Special Person! I Don't Generally Talk About Myself in a Review but I Just Wanted to Make the Point that the Story is Very Relatable! I Don't Like to Ruin the Plot So I Don't Like to Give Away Too Much but I Really Would Check this Book Out and Let Me Know What You Think About it! Thanks Again to Kathy Jacobson & Goodreads and Thanks for Taking the Time to Read My Review, Although I'm Not Very Good at Giving Them (lol!) Have a Blessed Day! - Jana
I bought the first three books in the series all together, and once I started, I read all three in rapid succession. They are well written. Each one kept me interested and piqued my curiosity as to what would happen next. I love a good love story, and especially one with a Christian undertone. I highly recommend this read.
I won this book on Goodreads. Thank-you. This book is a book you can relate to. Everyone has experienced heartbreak. Seriously we all have. But you pick yourself up and try again. Sometimes we even try new new things. This is a book that will hit close to your heart.
What a great faith based romantic story. There is a lot of emotion and insight into the character’s feelings which make the book a great read. It is refreshing to read a romance story that includes the characters faith, life changes and happiness while being realistic and true to life.
I would like to start by stating I received this novel through a Goodreads Giveaway. Thank you!
That being said, I did enjoy this novel. One of my favorite things was the relationship between Jillian (mother) and Marty (daughter). My mother and I have the same sort of relationship and it was nice to relate to the characters within the novel. Jillian was extremely inspirational throughout novel. I found that the constant reminder of prayer was a little much for me, however, I am also not the most religious person. Despite it being a bit much, I found that her faith was a big part in her inspiration throughout the novel. I would still recommend this novel for others to read and will be passing this novel on to my mother who would enjoy the novel as much or even more than I have.
Noted! is a great "feel-good" book. It's especially relatable for anyone who has ever faced heartbreak then had to pick yourself up and try new things again. And well, let's face it, that's all of us.
