I found an old copy of this book at an annual used book sale in Winnipeg. It was the starting point of a long journey that led me to write an historical fiction novel about Winnipeg in this time period. My book, Ravenscraig, just been published by Heartland Associates. I owe a very large thank you to Alan Artibise for his careful and fascinating collection of documents, stories and maps, and most importantly, his insight into the social issues of the day that so inspired me.
