Avery Rome isn't just an average girl... She's more than anyone could have ever imagined...
She's a Shifter, a Dragon and a Line Walker. A being capable of traveling to any world imaginable. That means a lot of people want to use her. For her skills. Her talents... Even her looks. It's a thing that even a good girl can't allow for very long. Not if she wants to survive. Look out reality, because Avery Rome isn't going to let you kick her around anymore. Because there is no other way than for her to make it.
P.S. Power works in fiction, mainly focusing on Fantasy, Science Fiction and Horror genres, with brief forays into other things just to keep life interesting. He averages 1 to 2 books monthly and has several series going. He lives in an isolated cabin in the middle of nowhere, as a recluse, yet still manages to find time to talk to people online, in a positive and delightful manner. Not one of those creepy hermit types though, you understand. It's more of an isolated farm style thing. Or ranch really. He's also interested in three dimensional photography, and long moonlit walks on the beach, sometimes with vampires. When he can find time he also does writing and voice work for scripted online programs. Anyway, feel free to drop him a line. Or visit his forum: http://pspowerbooks.com/phpBBF/index.php
In chatting with Dale over the past few weeks, it was decided that he was interested in blogging to you, his readers. The blog he had within the main site was not going to be a viable solution and there were thoughts of just creating a Forum where only he could post and everyone else could reply. This MOD is a nice meeting of the two for what will hopefully be a highly successful blog!
Hoping this first (and only) post by me will kick off a nice method of interaction with Dale's readers!

Not bad but needs better pacing and fewer dialog questions
I like the creativity demonstrated in this series. The protagonist is fun to read about and questions of what she will do next keeps me reading the story, page after page, despite her near-Super-Sue status.
I am disappointed that the author does not spend more time depicting the most interesting parts of his story. The whole giant battle with the rogue military forces, involving large groups from her own and other realities, was just sort of swept under the rug with a couple paragraphs about how they got it done and it worked out well. The author spends a LOT of effort depicting day-to-day stuff, but apparently is uninterested in the particulars of the important conflict scenes. But then, his protagonist is never really challenged in a way that we can feel deeply (no black moment), so perhaps the author is simply accepting that his action conflicts don't actually matter that much, and treating them the importance they (don't) deserve.
Also, I'm still wondering why every other line of dialog, from any character, is a question. It makes them all sound weak and ineffectual, and I know that not all the characters are. It's possible that the author, or people around him, really do talk in questioning lilts when they talk, so maybe I'm mishandling this point. It does seem to take a certain amount of emphasis away from statements made by characters should be more sure of themselves.
Overall, I still liked the novel. This author would be on the road to being a great one if he decides to work on these points.
This third volume in her series works so well. She continues to grow into herself and learn who she is. Along with this self growth she has some great adventures and makes friends everywhere she goes, OK maybe a few non-friends too but none to worry over much about.
The bottom line is that P.S. Powers is a master in his own works. He weaves his stories and characters with such ease. The entire body of work is fantastic.
Why? Why did almost every sentence end in a question mark? Why did the main character allow herself to feel pressured to have sex even when she told us almost every chapter that she didn’t have a sex drive? As a queen dragon, I kept waiting for Avery to mature into her power. Yes, she finally overcame the prejudice she was indoctrinated with as a child, and yes, she confronted her father in the very last pages of this story, but that was so minimal, and frankly, so far from the potential her character had been written with. And why did she cave under the demands of the demons if she was so mature having spent thousands of years in the void learning how to line walk? And talk about confusing… There were so many characters simultaneously living in alternate universes, but not always wearing the same face. It was difficult to keep up with who was whom. And honestly, I didn’t care to keep them separated since all most of them wanted on FIRST introduction was some form of sex, even though they knew Avery wasn’t wired that way. Most simply ran Raman of over her reluctance and she ended up performing… How could she crusade against the upper echelon Alede for sex trafficking humans when she was succumbing to pretty much the same situation? I kept hoping for better and managed to get through the three books of the trilogy but I’m done. It is a good thing they were included in my kindle unlimited subscription cause I’d be angry if I’d spent money on them. Interesting, but the main character was lackluster to say the least and the other characters were too 2-dimensional for my taste. A few peaked my interest, I couldn’t hold it. I simply couldn’t work up the energy to invest myself in them. None of them sang to me.
This is a review of all three Avery Rome books. I enjoyed the trilogy, but found the plethora of characters from multiple other series (in the shared multiverse) distracting.
The main character is a type of Mary Sue peculiar to P S Powers -- a stoic character, often emotionally scarred in childhood, who becomes extremely accomplished through some inborn talent, but mostly incredible focus, relentless work ethic, and endurance of pain and fatigue; and one who is often clueless of her accomplishment. Many of those characters resemble each other, but I find them appealing nonetheless.
Avery Rome takes place in a huge fictional universe; primarily the Greater Demon one, but also one connected to many of Power's other series. We see characters from other books here, but they become oppressive in the final book, where other-world characters, and other-world magics complicate plot and make it hard to determine what is "possible" in the fictional universe.
If you liked the Eve Benson trilogy, you may enjoy this series as well. Or possibly, you may think that the main plot here is too much like that in Eve Benson books.
Just reread these 3 books. I was vaguely disappointed the first time now I understand why. The first book weakly sets up the series finale. The second book has some good action but completely drops the set up. The third book just kind of drops the ball. The heroine barely has a roll in grand finale. The author brings in the superheroes from other series the IPB and Tors world they even mention the federal government helping but there is no action!. This is more of an outline for what happens then a fully realized action filled story. Maybe the author reached a predetermined word limit or just got bored with the story? This is another disappointing ending from this author. Won't be following anymore.
Loved the potential of the story. The writing was decent. What killed the book for me was the last chapters. Tried to tie off so many threads with so little story felt like a copout. Add to the fact that the characters really didn't develop in any major way. Sadly I will not look for any future books.
The final book in the tells of Avery Rome. This book tied up some loose ends from other books by P.S. It also saw the good guys from multiple realities working together.
To start with the fire a very rome book, it's worth it and you will end up reading this one too. Also love that the author managed to create a unique situation for her character where so much is possible and the story really is not predictable
The tail of Avery Rome, dragon shifter continues in Dragon Queen. Waiting for Powers next book is always tuff. When Dragon Queen came to kindle I dropped what I was reading and dove right in. Avery has come a long way and makes great strides in each novel, transitioning from thinking herself the worst of the worst to a still humble but amazingly capable young lady/Dragon Queen!
If you are new to the trilogy, read the first two, then Dragon Queen. It will increase you reading pleasure and let you fully enjoy Avery's transition.
A good ending to the series, I actually enjoyed the interaction of such a great amount of characters from different realitys and that we didn't get so manny lost of lives in here.
Loved the introduction of the IPB, Ancient, and Farris worlds that worked into this book; it was readily done and I really enjoyed the cross over events from it.
Avery is a good girl who also is a kick butt warrior dragon! It was fun to get to see so many favorites from alternate worlds interacting and becoming friends. I liked it so much I've read it twice!
