Karen has done it once again one more book by her I have read in less than a day cos I was so into the storyline I couldn't think of anything else! This storyline is so different from Karen's other books but she writes in all her books about things that really do happen in real life it's not over done or gone to far away from real life. Never once was I bored no where in this book was I feeing like it was going away it's an amazing read!
I am a single mum myself and karen has got it so right the exhaustion the feeling you can't leave them even tho you have people that are there for you. The feeling like it's your fault that your kids don't have a dad when in reality it's not your fault at all. The feeling your not good enough the pain in your kids eyes when you don't have the answers they ask. The feeling like you have to be there every moment because you ARE mum and dad in one or the feeling your going to mess up or miss things it's only natural to feel all that but the way she did it was so real it was like reading my life In away (oh I need to find me a Matt)
Lauren is strong and a independent young mum. Matt is a sexy handsome man that would do anything to help his family. All the characters in this book are fantastic. Abbie I just love her. I know this is a standalone but I would love to read more about Abbie. Emma will have your laughing. The kids are lovely Luke reminds me of my little boy the love he has for is mummy and how energetic he is and everything else about him.
If I could I would give this books so much more than 5 stars. It's sexy funny and will have you so in the book you can see it all. What an outstanding book from an fantastic Author.
What an amazing book this was! Karen Frances can weave a story that will captivate and engage you from the first page. She has such a wonderful talent for bringing out all the "feels.' Each time I have to write a review for one of her books, I find myself struggling to find the perfect words.
Moving On is appropriately titled. Lauren Trent is devastated by the betrayal of the man she loved and expected 'forever' with. His betrayal was bad enough, however he has also decided he wants nothing to do with his very young children. Total dirtbag!
Lauren is trying to be strong for her children Unfortunately she is exhausting herself at the same time, determined to be a mother AND father. Lauren doesn't need a man in her life. Nor does she believe she will ever trust a man again. And even after one unforgettable, spectacular night with a stranger, she stays true to those words.
Matt Anderson was a great hero. He was sexy, protective and a bit possessive. Matt is a successful restaurant owner; a man who is also successful with the ladies. Matt never considered settling down but when he meets Lauren, he knows things feel different with her. She is beautiful and sexy. Lauren is also intelligent and independent. Matt wants to get to know her better. He wants to date Lauren and see where their relationship could go. And the plus side? He adores Lauren's children.
The problem is that Lauren does not want a man in her life like before. Not ever again.
Can Lauren learn to trust Matt? But what happens when she finds out that Matt isn't perfect: that he has secrets?
Lauren and Matt together was amazing. I loved how the author didn't rush their relationship. There were many obstacles to go over; I routed for them at every difficult moment. I truly felt the emotions the moment that everything fell into place for them. It was perfect. I couldn't help the goofy smiles on my face through this book.
I have to say that Matt was an amazing character. "To good to be true" comes to mind when trying to describe him. Despite his flaws and his past, I couldn't help but love him
Lauren had easily earned my respect from early on. Was she stubborn when it came to Matt? Yes, unfortunately she was the reason for the slow development of their relationship.
I also love how Lauren was as a mother. Her children were the most important people in her life and I felt that love she had for them. Lauren's children were perfect additions to this book. In fact, there are many wonderful secondary characters as well.
Please trust me when I say you should add this book to your TBRs. Better yet....one click! Moving On is a must read, a beautiful sigh-worthy story.
*I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book My Opinions are honest and unbiased.*
I was delighted to be able to read this story before publication as I am a fan of the author. She has written some great series thus far, so the fact that this was a standalone book had me wondering how she would manage with it. I needn't have worried as the story is so well told with a perfect ending.
I have to say that although I absolutely loved the main female character Lauren, my favourite has to be Abbie. She is Lauren's best friend and someone who provides a lot of help and support to Lauren, and her children, throughout the story. I felt so much empathy toward Abbie for a particular part of her back story. To find such a connection with a character in a book, where it appears almost as if my story and hers were linked in some way, is quite something and it instantly drew me deeper into the book.
The story itself is well paced, carefully thought out, and very well executed. The characters are all well written, even the ones I didn't like due to their actions throughout. I particularly loved Lauren's son Luke, as he comes across as such a responsible young man, regardless of his age. The way he looks after his sister and mother at all times is such a nice thing to see. He appears so much older than his years at times and is a huge credit to Lauren.
Regardless of the fact this is a standalone, the author manages to fit in an appearance from a much loved character from one of her book series'. I won't say which one, but suffice to say I was very pleasantly surprised when I read that particular part of the story.
Another great addition to the authors repertoire and I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.
Karen writes with a down to earth style about situations we could easily find ourselves in. It has a girl next door feel about it and deals with real life dilemmas.
This heartfelt book follows the life of Lauren Trent after she catches her husband cheating on her. Making a life for herself with her kids she puts the past behind her and attempts to move on.
Told from a first POV, the book is steady paced as Lauren funds a new love and has to deal with the problem of introducing her new man to the kids. Once again it's beautifully written and Karen tackles the subject with her usual sensitivity which comes through strongly in her writing.
For me the book lacked angst, I would've loved more bitterness from Lauren as she dealt with a divorce and maybe more of a show down between the ex and the new man as he takes the place of their dad. That's just my personal preference.
On the whole a beautiful story and a must read.
*** ARC provided by the author in exchange for an honest review ***
Loved this story of a woman finally getting the love she deserves for herself and her children. Lauren is forced to move on with her life and support her children on her own after she catches her partner cheating on her with her sister. In her office. After the birth of their second child. The sperm donor (David) does not even want anything to do with his children. His loss is Mathew Anderson's gain. Matt knows Lauren is it for him when he sees her at his restaurant on a rare night out with her girlfriends. He seems too good to be true as he shows care for Lauren and a genuine affection for her children. There's a hiccup in his past that she has to come to accept if they are to continue their relationship. Matt perseveres to show her that the man he is now is worthy of her love.
This isn't the first book I've read by Karen Frances, and it won't be the last. This book was fast paced, sweet, and touching. I liked the setting, the characters, and the story. If you like a sweet romance then this is the book for you.

Faultless perfection - five stunning stars from ladies living in bookland ⭐️️⭐️️⭐️️⭐️️⭐️️
Lauren has been badly betrayed by not only her husband but her sister. After discovering their affair she is left as a single parent and with fraying confidence and self belief. But she never falters in her love for her two children. Luke and Kate.
Excerpt: It is a long time since I put effort into my appearance. I think, over the years, I've lost pieces of me, and now it's time to claim it all back. Piece by piece.
After one rare night out, Lauren meets Matt Anderson...
Excerpt: Yes, last night awakened my senses, but the reality is I'm a single parent and I want to do my best for my babies. Because they both deserve that from me.
Matt and his family accept not only Lauren but her beautiful children into their lives and their love story is not faultless by any means. With skeletons in closets their relationship would be far from perfect but can Lauren learn to trust men again? Can she protect not only her heart but her children's too?
Excerpt: Matt Anderson has taken me out of my comfort zone. My thoughts are all jumbled up. Whenever I'm around him, he makes me lose control, and for the odd eight months, that's something I'm used to having - control.
This story was perfect. Just when you think you've read enough romance, a story comes along and blows that perception out the water. It was beautifully written and flowed perfectly. My only fault?! There wasn't enough! I need another story with these incredible characters. Faultless perfection.
Lauren is trying to deal with the betrayal of her husband but what she can’t forgive is the pain he is inflicting on his children by not wanting to see them. Being a single mother is a never ending job however the joy far outweighs the work but she doesn’t have the time or energy for a man in her life.
Matt is a sexy successful businessman who owns a restaurant and from the moment he saw Lauren he was attracted to her and they enjoy the night they spend together.
Lauren draws feelings from her that he has never felt before and for the first time in his life he wants a relationship but Lauren is leery. He knew that she had been hurt and was willing to take it slow but when his past comes to light is she able to accept it or is the betrayal from her ex-husband still too fresh?
I loved the strength of Lauren as she rebuilt her life after it was destroyed and the patience of Matt as Lauren learns to trust again. This is a wonderful story that you don’t want to miss. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
** Review by Kylie from Bloggers From Down Under **
Lauren and David seem to have the perfect life. Together they own one of the best graphic design businesses in the country. Two beautiful children, and a, to the outsider at least, a perfect marriage. But Lauren's world is about to come crashing down.
In a surprise visit to see her husband, Lauren comes face to face with the reason for all the late nights David has been spending at work.
Once the shock and anger has somewhat subsided, Lauren knows the only choice she has for her and her children, is to move on.
When Lauren meets Matt, the attraction is instant, but she knows this is only a one night stand.
Or is it?
Another stellar novel by the wonderfully talented Karen Frances. One that simply cannot be put down. And if you've read any of Karen's earlier novels, a few characters pop up to surprise you 😉😉
And although the book all tied up nice and neatly, hopefully this isn't the last we hear from Matt and Lauren.
I have read all of the books written by Karen and I can honestly say that they keep getting better! I love her style of writing and she is happy to write about things that other authors might worry about, she writes in detail and from the heart which at times has me in tears but the book is so gripping that I wanted more!
Lauren is a very strong independent woman who has two young children when her husband and sister do the unthinkable to her but she bounced back thanks to the help of her friend Abbie. Matt is a handsome business man who has his own story to tell and he is taken by Lauren from the moment he saw her, it's lovely to read how he loves his family and would do anything for them this includes lauren and her children,I loved it when he stood up to protect Lauren and her children.
This is really well written and it pull on your heart strings while making you smile. Well done Karen
When we first meet Lauren she is on her way to surprise her husband at work, little does she know she's the one about to be shocked. What she finds is her husband having an affair, with her sister no less. While Lauren attempts to put her life back together, for herself and her children, she unexpectedly meets Matt. Lauren knows she's not ready for anything serious but Matt could be good for a one time fling, or so she thinks.
Matt falls for Lauren fast but realizes that in order to win her he's going to have to be patient, but patience is a virtue that he doesn't quite possess. As Lauren tries to keep her distance, Matt does everything in his power to spend time with her. Watching him win her (and her children) over is so sweet and loving. By the end of the book I wanted nothing more than for these two to have their happily ever after.
I've been struggling to put down words for a review on this book because I can relate to so many parts of it. In the wonderful story I still found that escape we all need when we delve into a book. It just meant more to me. It's very different to read a book from a mothers perspective with still young children but Karen is amazing at breaking the mould with her subjects and creating a fantastic, emotive, enjoyable great read.
Karen is such a wonderful writer that the words just flow effortlessly, all the characters are very well thought out and very well written making all their appearances very welcome, even the not so nice guys... Her friend Abbie is fantastic, we all need an Abbie!
Don't fret, their is still some steamy hot scenes that will have your toes tingling!
Go on and give it a read, you know you want to fall in love with Matt and add another book boyfriend to your collection. Yummy.
This was so romantic at the beginning, I loved it. Lauren is a single mum who has had her heartbroken by her ex. When she’s on a girls night out she meets Matt who instantly wants her. They have a passionate one night stand, or so she thinks, then she starts bumping into Matt everywhere. As she is friends with his sister and he becomes a client. It is a romantic book but it feels never ending in the middle. And I hate to say that she gets on my nerves. She worried about everything. When she’s worrying about everything she’s snapping at people. To be honest I can’t see why he likes her at first as she’s hard work! The one massive negative with this book is the style of writing. People are talking and it takes ages to figure out who it is, and it ruins it. Also after the first night there is no mention of condoms, as a single mother would she not be more careful?
When Lauren is left devastated and exhausted by the betrayal of her partner, and from dealing with her children on her own, as her douchbag of an ex wants nothing to do with the them, her BF drags her out. Matt is a sexy and successful business man, and from the moment these two set eyes on each other there is an intense attraction. When Lauren ducks out after their one night stand, Matt is the last person she expects to turn up as a new client. Will Matt be able to convince Lauren to have a relationship? No spoilers, please read this one for yourself, you will not regret it! This story is well written and amazing. I was hooked and enthralled from the very beginning. I love all of this authors work and she never disappoints her readers. Awesome work Karen! I recommend this authors work for all romance readers. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book!
I've read a few books by Karen Frances over time and decided this would bey next read by her and what a good choice I made! This is just such a beautiful story!!! It makes you feel so mushy inside. Matt is everything you could want in a man.. hes honest kind and loving..even if he is a little bossy lol Lauren has suffered some heartache and is not ready to move in until she bumps into Matt and never looks back. Read in one sitting as it was such an easy read to get into. *Read as part of KU*
I really enjoyed this book. The story was beautifully crafted and I felt engaged with the characters. This is a cheating novel and on the whole the heroine was strong and independent. The cheater could have been fleshed out more to create a little more angst to build a fuller picture of the situation as it unfolded. I love a HEA and I would of loved to have known what happened to the main characters a few years later. Do cheaters prosper? Or do they reap what they sow?
Wow! I absolutely loved this book and I was so not expecting the little twist in Matt's background. That caught me off guard and I would have handled just like Lauren. I'm glad they were able to work thru everything even though it seemed like she just forever him quickly and without much talk or trouble. I loved their connection and I loved how he treated her kids Luke and Kate. What a great book!
This book had me screaming at my kindle within the first chapter and from then on my emotions were all over the place. I liked Lauren's character and was championing for her to have a HEA. Then along comes Matt and you just wonder if he could be the one to change her life. Another great book from the author that should be added to your TBR list.
This story takes you on such a true life journey that you can probably associate with parts of not all of it. The characters pull you into their world, emotions we have all felt in situations, the setting is brilliant and as the story unfolds you just want it to be a happy ever after but nothing is smooth sailing. I would definitely recommend you reading this.
This was a well written book. After being hurt in the worst possible way, Lauren is sworn off men. When Matt appears in her life she slowly reconsiders. It makes a change to read a book about a man who is nice and attentive without being too bossy. A pleasant read.
What a beautiful book its hot but a lovely family tail of heartache romance ..I over matt from the start but I thought the story of him would have been much dark .but he did what he had to do for his family .loved this book .x
Jaw dropped in chapter one and have loved every moment of a beautiful single mother providing for her children and slowly falling for the man of her dreams
I’ve read several Karen Frances books but this one will always hold a special place in my heart. I felt a very big connection with Lauren and how she came to need to move on. I read this when I was going through a vey difficult time and Lauren’s outlook and strength really helped me deal with my own issues.
This book is full of emotion and is definitely a must read. Karen had done an amazing job with this one and you will not be disappointed.
