I am not even sure where to begin with this one, so this might just be a bit of a ramble because there is soooo much in my head with both this book and these characters!!! All i can say is .. YOU HAVE TO READ IT!!
I am not sure that i have recently read a book where my emotions weren’t straight forward concerning the characters. Cain whilst hot, delicious and sexy is one very bad, arrogant, egotistical, inconsiderate, selfish manwhore brute!! I can’t remember the last time i actually disliked a leading male character so much.
Olivia Fox is a CIA Agent, still grieving the loss of her CIA husband and ready to retire. Cain is her last job and mark, her task is to get close to him, get his trust and the information needed to bring down his boss!! An impossible match right?
There are so many twists and turns in this book, and this author leads you up the proverbial path, never knowing which direction you are going to be taking. So many times i thought i knew what what going to come next. I WAS Always WRONG!! I literally couldn’t put this book down, between my emotions and the having to know where can it possibly go next i was in a perfect tizz! The more i got into the story the more my emotions took over, and i felt everything, from laughing to anger and such frustration, and the next minute, i was feeling soft and mushy. But what really astounded me most with this story was the fact that the author, absolutely twisted and controlled my emotions with a complete turn around that i didn’t even see coming! Olivia is one kick ass lady and CAIN? Well you really just have to read it, and then spend a few days wondering how the author created the turn around and this emotional switch happened !!!

I wasn't sure about this book at first but boy did I get in to it. I find this with JP Barry she pulls you in slowly and don't even notice your hooked, the characters evolve and my opinion of them changed as the story developed I ended up loving Olivia and Cain and not knowing how to feel towards Jax , my new kindle crush. I can't wait for part 2

All I can say is WOW. This book was so not what I expected. The twists and turns were so unexpected it had me actually gasping. I started out really not liking Cain or Olivia but he so turned it around on me. I wanted to throat punch people through the book but I can not wait for the next one. Do not miss this book. Very well written, keeps you interested and guessing.

I really got into this book! It had a slow start for me, but once you get a little bit into it the characters really have you invested. Definitely one of those must read stories! JP Barry is an excellent author. Loved her work with narration and the characters stories :)

This is a new to me author and alls I can say is wow. If you're looking for a new author give JP Barry a try. loved the characters and the storyline. Keep me reading late in to the night.

What an awesome read! I love when a book grabs me from the very first chapter! Cain is a very bad boy! Why do nice girls always fall for bad boys? Olivia gives Cain that second chance which creates a love hate relationship for the reader! Cain really tried hard to do better for Olivia! Personally I was rooting for Jax! Can't wait for what happens next! Thanks JP! Loved this book!

Olivia Fox is a CIA profiler, hacker and bad ass woman. After the loss of her husband all she wants is to retire and disappear with Jax her partner. The CIA has one last job that she needs to fulfill and they will let her and Jax go. This job is to get the dirt on Ivan Popov, through a conceded, self-centered stripper "Angel" Montgomery or Cain who works for Ivan at his club. Follow Olivia CIA in how she finds way to break down Angel and meets the real Cain.
I really disliked Cain in the beginning, typical I am "IT" attitude but as the story went on I softened when the real Cain came out. You have to read this, I'll give you a spoiler... there is a twist at the end. WOW you won't see it coming.

I received an early copy as a rough draft for review. JP Barry is an exceptional writer. Her descriptions are vivid, her characters have a life of their own. Cain was delightfully obsessed. You really see his personality come through here. He is so self possessed he can't see beyond his own importance until he meets Olivia who turns his world upside down.
Olivia is a special agent for the CIA. She is dealing with her partner, a deceased husband and trying to crack a case thet are working on. But Olivia is the one character I didn't like. I could not seem to warm up to her. She was just annoying to me. But the story was still fun to read and had a nice twist at the end. It will be fun to see the story when it is truly complete.

I would consider this a suspense book. CIA agent Olivia is tasked with bringing down a Russian mobster by using a stripper, Cain aka Angel, who she meet once before on a past assignment. Although I didn't care for either of the main characters, in my opinion they deserve each other and the heart ache each of them causes the other. Overall it was an enjoyable read with well rounded characters; although I am not sure I would do what Olivia did for her job. And the twist that was thrown in at the end, wow, never saw that coming. If you are looking for something different to read pick up this book and give it a try.

Ok this author had me at hello and kept me going until the very end.
First of all the story is fabulous but the characters are what makes this story phenomenal. There is so much going on that you think you have it figured out and than the author throws a twist and then another. Keeping you thinking and on a journey of sorts.
Cain 'Angel " Mongomery is a force to be reckoned with and I don't know if I should totally hate him or trust and see what id going to happen in this story. Oliva is such a strong independent woman that you have confidence in right from the start but true to this author is Olivia professional an strong enough to match Angel. All I can say is you need to read this book and figure it out for yourself.
This is a great story with great characters and truly wonderful well written words where I actually enjoyed the word flow in this book and kept me in suspense throughout!

I had the pleasure of beta reading this book for JP before it went off to the publishing house.
I am so glad she was able to write this story. It needed to be told. She is such an amazing writer. I've been a fan right from the very beginning, and always will be.
With this first novel of the series, she's proven that she's capable of going outside of her paranormal genre. She writes with passion and purpose in everything she does. I cannot wait for the next "ANYTHING" from this Marvellous author.

Amazing! I went into this book not knowing what to expect. I really thought I’d get a straight forward story, hell no! I got an epic roller coaster ride!
How do you take a a character who is basically vile and make him lovable?

First you start with an author that rocks the sci-fi/paranormal scene. Then she hops genres for her new series and what do you get???? The Mark of Cain!
Seriously, this book is a delectable slice of heaven!!! The characters are very well developed and strong. The storyline flows so well and has actual content that forces you to keep turning the page, because you want to know what is next. I will not do a spoiler, but I will say, there is a HUGE surprising twist that you won't see coming.
If you don't have this on your TBR list, you need to put it there and buy it on release day. You will not be disappointed!!!

An amazing 5 stars to J.P. Barry for writing a character so loathsome that I was tempted to scream at my e-reader whenever (many, many times) his douchery presented itself. Therein lies the problem. She did her job so well that Cain's vileness followed him and I had difficulty accepting his transition from raging narcissist to a guy with deep problems who could love and be loved. Perhaps the follow-up to this cliffhanger will convince me and redeem him in my eyes.

Where to start... Cain the lovable narcissistic Bad boy meets undercover Olivia... and sparks fly!! I don't know how she carried on with her assignment at first, Cain was such a jerk, I would have slapped him and left, but when the feelings shifted and she started falling for the real him, I was so happy. The ending threw me overboard and I can't wait for the next book!!
