Living and working in a small county town is not where Dr Walker Samuals, envisioned his life leading him. Leaving behind a troubled past filled with wrong decisions and the wrong person. He needed to salvage his career and reputation.
All he had to do was keep his head down and stay focused.
Simple...
Until the chance encounter with the woman that can completely derail his plans and ignite a desire he had never experienced before.
She was everything he wasn't.
Eden, strong, innocent and sensible. She had always been that way. Her dream finally coming true with the Hideaway, everything was going to plan, until he walked into her store for coffee. Tall, dark and utterly gorgeous.
We are two long term friends, that have bonded over our love of books and reading. we decided to take the plunge and write our own stories full of troubled alpha males and women with huge inner strength. living in Sydney, Australia, with our better halves for the best part of 30 years each. Between the two of us we have five young adults. When not busy with our full-time work, we like nothing better than sitting out in the sun, preferably at the beach, writing, reading and talking about books.
This book is a great start to Ally and Debbie's writing career and I really see the potential in their writing development. I did really enjoy the plot and I was starting to enjoy the characters. However, I feel like there wasn't quite enough character development which left some moments feeling rushed. I think this is just purely from being first time authors and the uncertainty. The ideas, and plot development was certainly there......but I was left wanting more. I would have preferred less going on in the story lines or the same plot but in a much longer book.
Having said that, I will definitely be buying their next book because I know that with each new book their writing will evolve and become more confident. Hopefully these characters will pop up again and more of their story will be fleshed out.
When Mr Right walks into your shop and you think he is the most gorgeous guy you've ever seen, this is how Eden felt when Walker was looking for a great cup of coffee when he walked into her shop. The chemistry between them at first sight was hot, they are meant to be together! Walker left the city life to reinvent himself and moved to Havenwood to accomplish this. What he was not planning on was Eden, beautiful and innocent Eden. Walker has baggage and not baggage alot of women take on, especially when its an ex. This story is set at a pace where you keep turning pages and wondering just how is this going to end? This is the first book I've read by these 2 authors and I am now starting Loyalty, for I love a good read and I need to know what happens to these other characters I've read about!
If your after a face paced, darkish/eroticaish/crazy exish book then Honesty could be the book for you.
I don't exactly know how I feel about this book. The concept was A1, the character development could have been more, there was definitely something there that needed further dealing with on Edens end. the POV from Sadie, Sabrina and Mitch made the story that bit more complete. I feel like I could have had more time with Walker and Eden to really flesh out that relationship. Maybe even more Eden and Sadie time. And I 100% would have loved to have seen a bromance with Walker and Mitch, especially after their original meeting.
But as far as face paced books go this one is definitely one of the better ones I've read. Despite all the things I would have liked, before winning this book in a comp I had never heard of these ladies. Reading some other reviews I've come to learn that this is their first publish amd ya know I'll be checking out more from them.
Honesty is the first title from the writing duo of Ally Barnes and Debbie Ann. This is a fast paced, well written and engaging, and emotional story with an element of intrigue and suspense.
I quite enjoyed Walker and Eden's story. Walker is a doctor with an intriguing past, that he's doing his very best to leave behind, whilst Eden is a Havenwood local. Eden is an endearing, independent, and caring young woman, a survivor having faced her fair share of heartbreak and loss.
My only complaint regarding this title was the lack of character development, but I wouldn't expect a debut title to be completely flawless. I look forward to reading future titles in the Havenwood series.
This is the debut book from these two authors and I've got to say it shows their potential. The story follows Walker and Eden whose relationship surpasses anything either one of them have had before, sadly with the help of a bat sh!t crazy ex, all sorts of things start going wrong in their sleepy little town. Walker’s past is coming back to haunt him in a big way, he only hopes that Eden has it in her to trust in him. I felt at times that the writing was a little over descriptive and left nothing to the imagination, it was however an enjoyable read with some intense scenes, not for the faint hearted.
Wow, wow, WOW!!! What a story. This book literally has it all, romance, heartbreak, secrets, lies, stalkers, ex’s, jealousy and kidnaping just to name a few. WELL DONE LADIES! Ally and Debbie you have done a fantastic job writing this book and i can’t wait to see what the future holds for you both as Authors. This is one story you would not want to miss.
‘Honesty’ Walker and Eden‘s story is going to take you on one hell of a ride.
This is a fast paced quick read. I loved the storyline it was action packed from start to finish. I would have given the whole 5 stars if it was slightly longer with more detail into the characters and the characters pasts. A great debut novel I can't wait to read what is to come of this pair. Ps I need to find me a walker he was one hot alpha male.
Omfg! This book. I tell ya what I have no words. It. Was. Amazing!!! The characters, what happened, just everything. Stuff you’d NEVER see coming and BAM it was there happening! Sooooooo good!

Okay, okay….So writing this review is a struggle…..Guys the struggle is real. And you want to know why?
Because I have just read this novel and it has totally blown my mind. But the kicker…….This is a debut novel for both of these authors, and I was lucky enough to get my hands on this little beauty. A complete honour. And Honesty was just amazing.
We meet Walker Samuels. A doctor, who leaves his past behind, taking comfort in a small town. His past can’t hurt him there. Finally he can re-build his troubled life. Finally he can concentrate on rebuilding not only his reputation, but concentrate solely on his career.
But what Walker doesn’t realise is that a chance encounter will change everything. A chance encounter with her will change everything. She will be Walkers game changer.
We meet Eden Rose. Young, beautiful, independent. Her main focus in her quiet little town is her grandmother, her best friend and her dream of running the Hideaway. Eden will stop at nothing to make sure that the Hideaway is the best business it can be. Eden will stop at nothing to make sure that her grandmother has the best of everything.
But what Eden doesn’t realise is that a chance encounter will change everything. A chance encounter with him will change everything. He will be Edens game changer.
This is Walker and Edens story……And it’s explosive.
Raw, gritty, sinfully delicious, breathtaking. These are a few words that come to my mind after reading Honesty. A beautiful story about two souls coming together and helping each other in their darkest of moments. A story about hope and trust. A story about love.
But be careful. There are always monsters lurking, ready to strike, ready to take what they want.
I have so much respect for both Ally Barnes and Debbie Ann, to have produced such a powerful read, for their very first novel. A definite new fan, I cannot wait to see what they both come up with next.
5 stars.
