Really like this interpretation of the cards and the way it describes the card, talks about the meaning, has questions to consider and then take about the reversed meaning. I don’t use it with the star child tarot deck though. One negative — it changes “coins” to “crystals” and I don’t find those meanings to be as true to the cards in my deck.
Great book that introduces you to a very nice and balanced modern interpretation of tarot - meant to be used as tool for self reflection, not divination. Personally, I see tarot as a kind of cognitive behavioral therapy in a box, you choose to reflect on a specific situation and ask yourself critical questions to view it in another light and maybe learn something from it. The cards suggest themes by which you can analyse the particular situation. A big plus is that the book actively tries to avoid gender stereotypes, which is not only nice for genderqueer people like myself, but I think that most binary gendered people also wouldn't like to be pigeonholed into 'active' and 'meditative' energies. The only thing that irks me a bit is that the pictures and descriptions aren't 100% the same as my actual starchild tarot deck - sometimes the card doesn't look at all like the picture and that makes intuitive interpretation a bit harder.
I can see this book being quite interesting if you had the actual book - I used my kindle and it wasn’t as helpful. I’m not sure if I liked the designs on the cards, but each to their own with cards! Other than that, it was helpful, but I wish I’d bought it in a hard copy and not the kindle version!
