Loan sharks are circling, I’ve got my dad’s hospital bills to pay, and my landlord is about to kick me out onto the street. It’s all doom and gloom until my best friend, Jesse, tells me that she’s found me a job impersonating the famous hotel heiress, Tamara Honeywell.
I get to live on a ranch in Montana for a month and take care of all my money worries. The only snag is I’ll have to have my lips injected, and act like a spoilt, demanding, selfish brat. but, what the hell? Collagen is temporary, and I can act like the world’s most bitchy heiress for a month.
Until I see the jaw-droppingly handsome cowboy who comes to collect me. All flashing eyes, sun drenched skin, steely muscles…and spitting venom. Oops, he can’t stand talentless celebrities. Absolutely hates them. Damn, he looks like he wants to put me over his knee and spank me.
This is going to be interesting!
In Montana it's not just the sky that's big. So saddle up for the hottest cowboy that ever walked the pages of a book. - This is a standalone with HEA and no cheating. ADULT content over 18.
Everyone loves a good fairy-tale retelling – in fact, at times, a part of me questions whether the trend is getting out of hand. Most of the retellings seem to be Beauty and the Beast stories (at least, the ones I’m reading have been), so it was nice to pick up a Cinderella style contemporary romance.
The synopsis gripped me, but I wasn’t quite one hundred percent sure how the story would play out. I had so many ideas in my mind, there were so many possibilities, that when I did jump in I had to forced myself to clear my mind of these notions. All I knew for certain was that there would be the drama of fame and the beauty of a cowboy. Those are two things I’m sure any romance fan will want to read more of. What I didn’t expect, is to be gripped from the very start and to find myself completing this in one sitting. I told myself I was simply going to read a couple of chapters, and the next thing I knew a couple of hours had passed and I was wearing a stupid grin as I reached the end of the book.
From the very first page, I fell in love with our leading lady. We instantly connect to her, falling in love with her friends and wanting the best for her life. It’s always wonderful when you connect to a character instantly, and such is what happens here. Moreover, I love it when we’re thrown into the action straight away – again, such is what happens here. As soon as we’ve built a connection to our leading lady, we’re thrown head first into the drama of the story. It takes mere chapters before the story is moving at a rapid pace, pulling you from one wonderful scene to the next. Each time a new character or element was introduced, I found myself falling even more in love with our characters.
It was such a beautiful tale, giving us all kinds of emotions. There’s humour to be found; there’s annoyance at choices and situations; there’s edge of your seat moments as you question what happens next and whether there will be a happily ever after; there’s heart melting moments as you watch the interactions between the characters. There really is so much in this one – it’s the full emotional package, one that will stick with you for an extremely long time.
The only thing that let me down was the ending. Whilst it was a lot of fun, and I loved how it ended, I felt as though it didn’t quite have the depth that the rest of the book had. It was the perfect ending to the story, and yet it seemed to be over far too quickly. I would have liked a little bit more from it – more details, more specifics, more scenes… I just would have liked a little bit more. It was wonderful, but it could have delivered a more powerful kick than it did.
Overall, though, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It was a great debut novel, and I’ll certainly be looking to read more of the author’s work.
Note, I read an advance complimentary copy of this book as supplied by the author via Siobhan Davis's Street Team.
I loved the title of this book. This is the first by this author and she hooked me with the title. Once I read the description I was wondering what was going to happen and that made me excited.
Cass , was awesome! Right from the start you build this kinship with her and I wasn't able to want to be her friend. What she has to do, while funny, I felt it was a true experience for her.
Lars was amazing. Yes he was a jerk but under it all I felt that he was more then that. Plus, he was a cowboy! Yummy!
I loved the author's writing style. The dialogue and internal dialogue were both fun and refreshing with a fast pace but not to fast that i had a hard time following.
This story had a very sexy feel with the humor and light drama. Everything seemed to balance them selves out. When you read the description you get a small feel for what you will get with the book, but make sure to go in with an open mind and you will enjoy it!
Overall, I really liked it. My main issue was the end (last chapters) went way too fast. The overall flow of the story was an amazing pace and I didn't feel like I missed anything, but just the end, it didn't jive with me. I look forward to reading more from this talented author in the future. 4 stars #2OCCJD
Cover: the cover is different and come on who doesn't like a cinderella story?
I jumped into this one and tbh I don't know what I was expecting but whatever it was i did not get it instead I got better much better it kinda felt great to read a story that was not all about the sex. right from the beginning the book hooked me in who the hell hides from their landlord under a bed? lol, a grown woman that is who I could not stop laughing. Tamara is an evil little witch poor Cass i tell you something she had more patience than me because i would have clattered her! I really loved Lars he is your broody Alpha loving Cowboy and i wanted him for myself. Hopeless romantics you are going to want to live in this world well Cass's one anyway Would Lars be my book boyfriend? yes, he is my Book Husband MINE #CLAIMED!
While romance is my favorite genre, I tend to favor regency or historical romance over contemporary romance. However, I was drawn to this book because of its premise. I've seen stories where characters switched places, but this was the first one I came across where just one person was acting as the other character, as a look-a-like. I liked Cass right away, and was totally drawn up into the problematic aspects of her situation. There was definitely a twist at the end I wasn't expecting.
This is a nice, light, beach read- without being too light. I felt like the characters were well developed. There are some very steamy scenes in this book, so if you don't like that in your romances I would steer clear of this one. I really enjoyed this book and am glad that I read it.
I read an advance complimentary copy of this book as supplied by the author via Siobhan Davis's Street Team. I have voluntarily reviewed same.

Blurb: Cass is struggling financially and her best friend signs her up in Cinderella.com. This website finds celebrity lookalikes so they can use them for impersonating them. Cass is a match to Tamara Honeywell, an actress who is a horribly rude person. Cass agrees to impersonate Tamara on a Montana ranch for a month learning how to ride a horse. When she arrives she meets Lars. Lars currently is working as a ranch hand and now a babysitter for Tamara. Both end up having a connection but Cass can never have a relationship. What will happen to them when the month is up?
I am so excited that I got an ARC for River's debut book. I can safely say that I can see myself reading her other books in the future.
I loved the plot to this book. Having to impersonate someone and trying to act like someone your not seems hard. Throw in your feelings for the other person and it becomes dangerous. River done an amazing job with the emotions that Cass/Tamara was dealing with. The only thing that I did not like with this book was initial "hookup" between Cass and Lars. Not giving anything away or details but it started out super hot and then bam it went to the next day. Right there I would have loved more action. Overall, it was a fantastic read! I love the sexy cowboy, small town feel of a good romance.
So many grammatical and punctuation errors. This book was a major letdown after Dear Neighbor, which I read last week, and really liked.
In addition to the grammatical issues, there are so many issues with the Montana dialog, the description of their accents, life on the ranch, riding etiquette, barn terminology, the list goes on. For anyone with any knowledge of life in the country, it was just one irritating weird mistake after another.
Finally, the plot in this book was just too off-the-wall unrealistic for me. Maybe people not from Montana can enjoy this bit of fluff for what it is, which would explain the 4+ ratings from other reviewers for this book. For anyone from a ranch/farm, buyer beware. I'm guessing you'll spend most of your day rolling your eyes, shaking your head, and snorting at some of the ridiculous scenarios.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author via Siobhan Davis’s ARC team and I have voluntarily reviewed same.
Who doesn't love a good Cinderella story??? I loved that this story had a modern touch, secret lives and a steamy romance. Tamara is a spoilt brat that i'm sure no one will like, Snotty lil wench (not really but as close as)she is! One hot cowboy...Lars... dreamy and stubborn but damn sexy. and one desprite but beautiful inside and out Chicky who does what she can to pay back the loan sharks and help with her dads care. Good story that you will want to read from start to finish.
I signed up to give my honest review of this book. It was the hot hunky cowboy idea that caught my eye. A older type fairy tale with a modern western twist. Cass and Lars were likeable characters with a very obvious connection right from the start, though I'm not sure they knew that. lol. Cass thinks he's only a ranch hand instead of the owner, though, so it gets interesting to watch that secret unfold. I wondered at times how the author was going to pull off a happily ever after but some more twists later and she did. I liked it.
This was so good. I am glad I picked it up right after my BFF talked about loving it. I wish this was part of a series because I really want to know what happens to the rest of the people on the ranch. ___________________________________________________________ Popsugar reading challenge 2019- a book with an item of clothing or accessory on the cover
This was such a nice read. I love cinderalla stories and this one was written and developed very well. Cass is a beautiful girl living in the suburns of Chicago. Her story starts with her hiding under her bed so that her landlord can't see that she's home, because she can't pay her rent. Even though she's a hard worker, dealing with her father's health situation, the bills of his health care facility and the money she borrowed from some criminals to keep him there, put her in a desperate situation for money. One friend of her advises her to register to cinderella.com...a website for look alikes where you can be booked to impersonate famouse people. So thanks to this page she get contacted by the agent of a famous socialite and hotel heiress Tamara Honeywell and offered to work as her impersonator. Cass will need to impersonate Tamara for a month in a ranch and should learn to ride horses while the real Tamara enjoys the party life. Going in a ranch and helping animals is part of Tamara's deal with her father in order to recover from drugs addiction and show some responsibility. So wile in the ranch, Cass falls in love with Lars, a hot cowboy, who works as a ranch hand and that will supervise the period of Tamara in the ranch. But who is really Lars and what are his feelings for Tamara/Cass? And will he discover her secret? And what will Tamara do when she learns about the handsome man in the ranch who has made her impersonator fall in love? To discover more, read this lovely Cinderella story.
Cass is in debt to her eyeballs. Her BFF hooks her up with a celebrity look-alike group that pays her to spend a month in MT on a ranch impersonating a rich, entitled, bitchy hotel heiress. If she can successfully complete the month she will be able to pay her loan off. Cass was likable enough. So was Lars. There were some typos/errors (off the top of my head Jesse switching to Jessie) that I noticed. I did have some trouble believing Cass being in debt d/t her father's medical bills (did he not have Medicare/Medicaid? It shouldn't have been daughter going into debt to pay, but his estate (if he had one). Cass going from never ridden to jumping in less than a month was also unbelievable (it was mentioned with little page time). I also thought Tamara was way overdone. Overall, it kept my attention and was an average fairy tale retelling.
Cinderella.com had me from the first chapter! It's so well written & original storyline. I expected it to be a so-so knock off of Cinderella, but it WASN'T! It's about being yourself and how you choose to behave in life ...and Cass & Tamara are polar opposites. Lars is such a rugged smart cowboy ...he can teach me to ride any day! Well done RIVER LAURENT!
I'm a huge sucker for Cinderella stories. I hadn't ordered this month's lit-cube but saw the book and wanted to read it, and it was available on Kindle Unlimited.
This was fun and sweet. A really quick read that made me smile. I liked the hidden identity aspect, which was a nice twist to the usual Cinderella retellings.
I love Cinderella themed story and this one doesn't disappoint.
Cass is in need of money so takes a job where she has to impersonate a 'celeb' that is spoiled, rude and generally not nice at all - the opposite of Cass.
She has to spend a month in Montana, to ground the 'celeb' but obviously it's Cass taking her place, so she has to act spoiled.
Lars has to suffer the 'celeb from hell', his job is to train her to ride and he isn't happy about it but will push her to her limits.
Cass struggles to be the bitchy spoilt celeb and her true side shows through resulting in a romance between her and Lars.
I really enjoyed this book and was pleasantly surprised by the ending.
This is my first read from this author and I found her writing style easy to read and paced well.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It's a refreshing take on the fairy tale with a contemporary twist! This is my first book by River Laurent and her writing style completely enraptured me from the very beginning. It's witty, charming and oh so sexy...a definite adult contemporary romance!
Cass Harper has had some rough hands dealt to her but in order to get her life back on track she takes a gig impersonating "Reality Star" Tamara Honeywell...what SHOULD be a train wreck portraying such a chaotic and selfish character , because really that's what Tamara is, turns out to be Cass's fairy tale....a Montana Ranch fairy tale!
Great writing kept me wanting to know what was coming next and so engrossed in Cass and Lars' story, that I could not put it down! Amazing character development...you will either love or hate the characters.Tamara especially...but I think she's the perfect "Villian" in Cass' fairy tale and it adds just that much more to the story. The chemistry between Cass and Lars is not only hot but its pretty funny to read how they "fight" and "dislike" each other to just going with it and sparks will fly!
This is a definite must read for those who'd enjoy a witty and sexy romantic twist on the Cinderella Fairy Tale...HEA Guaranteed!
I voluntarily received this Book for my honest review.
Cinderella.com is a debut novel by River Laurent and she's got the talent. If I didn't know it was a debut I would have never of guessed it. I was pleasantly surprised with how amazing this book was. Excellent writing kept me completely entranced with this book and devouring the pages! The character development and plot was stunning! It was a perfect mix of contemporary and fairy tale. While also being a perfect mix of southern charm, humor and heat!
Cass Harper has been dealt some horrible cards in life. With her fathers declining health and her debts piling up she thought all hope was lost. When a unexpected job offer arises the money was to good to resist. What should've been a disastrous job impersonating reality star Tamara Honeywell actually ends up being the fairy tale Cass has always dreamed of. But when the clock strikes midnight reality awaits.
Cass and Lars story will completely enchant your heart. Lars southern charm will leave you swooning! Who knew they grow the Cowboys so steaming hot in Montana! I just want to take one more time to brag on River Laurent for writing such a all consuming and out of the box love story! I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a witty, rom-com take on the Cinderella fairy tale we all love.
This is my first River Laurent book and I LOVED IT. It is a bit of a slow burn book at the beginning, but not to the point that you want to stop reading. Cass is put on a website by her friend to work as a double for celebrities. When Cass is picked to become Tamara and go to a working ranch in Montana, she couldn't be happier. Cass needs the money to help her father and to make something of her life.
Tamara is a spoiled rich b*tch and is not very likable. She gets herself into trouble (which seems to be common) so when her dad wants her to go to a ranch in Montana she figures she will send in a double. Why should she suffer and have to work when she did nothing wrong? And btw the double is not allowed to have any fun, have sex, or do anything but work!
Lars- is a ranch hand that wants nothing to do with Tamara coming to his ranch. He knows it will bring nothing but trouble. So when Tamara (Cass) shows up and she is nothing like what he expects, it is really confusing to him why he is getting feelings for this woman.
This is really a great modern day Cinderella story. A great read and I can't wait to read more by River!
I would like to thank River for writing a book at is "out of the box". I rarely get to read something that has to do with "look-a-like" in a book. Movies, yes..books no. It was a breath of fresh air. I can say is Cass really did the best she could impersonating Tamara. But Lars, a ranch hand isn't what he seem to be either. Cass, a city girl, feels more at home on a ranch than the city of Chicago. Both of them fall for each other. It's such a romance that I even I am yelling for her to go and get him too. Of course Tamara wants him as well. So, we have the "witch" Tamara, Cass the girl with a heart of gold, Lars, the price, Emma Jean, Jess, and Ms. Moore I want to call them as the fairy godmothers of the story. But this story is well written and will make you fall in love with cowboys, even if you are not a fan of one. Oh, I forgot to say is that I received this book for free so I can write an honest review of it. Read it in a day. It is a $2.99 book price for me and on the R rating site.
What a beautifully written story this book is. It completely hooks you in from the first page and I didn't want to put it down until I had read the whole book. I absolutely loved this book and totally got carried away reading it. I highly recommend you one click this modern day fairytale asap. I'm new to River Laurent books and rumours have it that she's a new author but I honestly wouldn't have guessed by reading this book. The storyline was fantastic and flowed so well. Thankgod it had that deleted scene at the end as that made my day reading that. I absolutely loved Lars and his alpha cowboy with a hint of possessive caveman thrown in to the mix. I really liked Cass and really felt for her situation.I was hoping she'd get her HEA and definitely wasn't disappointed. I really want to go work on the Bucking Bronco Cattle Ranch as it sounds like heaven in Montana. I absolutely loved Cinderella.com and I can't wait to see what River Laurent has for me next. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This is my first book I have read by River, but it definitely won't be my last!
Cass "Tamara" is such a great character & relatable. A strong girl who does what she has to do to help her family. Cassie is just doing her 30 days on the ranch to earn her money and pay off her debt. The last thing she expected was Lars.
As for Lars, love him. I love his protectiveness, loyalty, and sweetness. Lars is a great balance to Cass.
I love the twist in the story line of Cass playing a LA socialite on a Montana ranch. Sucked me with the ranch life. Makes me want to move to Montana to find a cowboy...almost ;)
I highly recommend!!
***I received a copy from Be My Book Boyfriend Blog. I reviewed this book voluntarily.***
This was my first book of the author and she don't disappoint me at all. Cinderella was a debut novel and I was surprise by the writing style and the plot was perfect and original. Contemporary romance with the perfect amount of humor, love and sexiness. Casa and Lars's story was perfect with charm, love and steamy hotness. The characters chemistry were amazing, and I was hooked from the beginning till the end.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a sexy, fast and a good read.
*I voluntary received an early copy of this book in exchange of a honest review *
If one will write about ranching and horses, then one should do the research to understand ranching and horses. There are over 9 million horses in the USA, so it's a good bet some of one's readers will have at least a nodding acquaintance with horsemanship. This reader is one such person, which makes the many errors in this book insurmountable to enjoying the story. For instance, one's first riding lesson would not involve centering unless one's instructor is completely clueless and careless. Arabian horses don't weigh 2000 lbs. Et cetera. Not recommended.
Contemporary Romance. Ranch\Cowboys setting. Duel POV. Hired by an Impersonation company, Cinderella.com, Cass finds herself a ranch to learn how to ride. She must stick it out for a month and be able to ride or she won't be getting the $30,000 to pay her ill father's doctor bills. It's a really sweet story. It has stuck with me through the years and is my favorite in the genre. Wish it was a series. To find out about the future of the ranch and the side characters. #Butchlove
Very well written and one that grabs your attention and keeps it. I love everything about this book. I love the way she portrays someone else while fighting her true self. And the way he is an alpha male pain at first. Then how she interacted with the animals. And the ending was awesome. I consider this a must read. I haven't read something so enjoyable until this. Sit down and snuggle in and enjoy reading this. I highly recommend this.
